“The Washington elite ... have lost touch with an awful lot of America” - retired general and former director of the CIA David Petraeus meets presenter Tim Sebastian on Conflict Zone in New York days after the US election results.
General David Petraeus deserves a future in leading the US in politics.
I have an inkling Trump will give him a significant military advisor role in the cabinet. His experience in Iraq is incredible and his viewpoints and strategy of moving forward in Syria/Iraq line up well with Trump's campaign rhetoric
I don't think Putin would accept Petraeus, he doesn't seem willing to sell out the country.
He handles the interview very well. Doesn't let Tim push him around. This is the sort of man USA needs as President.
Another "worm tongued" reporter. They are a plague.
The thumbs down is for this extremely biased presenter and not for David Petraeus. Too bad I couldn't stay long enough to hear all that Petraeus had to say as this out of touch rock throwing presenter was too busy pushing his personal viewpoint laden agenda and attacking his guest. :(
i dont agree with what Tim was suggesting but nothing wrong with asking tough questions- the general did a good job of with his answers even if i dont agree with some of them
sherri99516 I agree 100% this guy giving the interview is the racist.
Seen from outside the United States, this interviewer's questions were very legitimate.
I do not believe any one person can speak for all of the (6.7 billion) people watching from outside the United States
Kathryn Welch no kidding lol
Journalist is biased beyond disbelief.
Or maybe he's just asking critical questions.
Petraeus for Secretary of State.
Great journalism. Often leaders are not pressed on the decisions they made or had a hand in making. It's refreshing to see a journalist challenge these individuals, and having them answer for their decisions that have impacted so many lives.
I always so enjoy Mr. Sebastian....
We're glad to hear that Barbara!
It's clear the General has never seen a Tim Sebastian interview. Dear General haven been so throughly blindsided by Mr Sebastian, I would advise you turn down any invitations to talk with Ali G, should he call.
Nobody interviews like Tim Sebastian
Does this guy work for MSNBC!
Even monsters make sense to themselves.
Subtitulos en español?
great journalist holding feet to fire!
How was his campaign racist? I missed it.
Tim Sebastian is a top notch interviewer and journalist!
Just saw his interview with Texas senator Hughes. He made the senator squirm as he tried to weasle out of answering simple questions.
None of them are angels.
Great interview, thank you DW! Sidenote: Mr. Sebastian needs to fix his posture, ouch!
Putin should be willing to dictate policies in Russia not America.
we tortured some folks...for some reason I find this statement "funny"
Obama can't help himself being a smug smartass.
You gotta love a ret. General working in a skyscraper in front of central park talk about the “Washington and coastal elites “ 🙄🙄 most useless word in politics. 🤮🤮🤮🤮
Ah ah ah lots of commenters here in full denial of the nature of Trump, and clearly destabilized at seeing a real interviewer in action and not a bootlicker.
Articulate Ignorance or pure bias. Either way, god help us all!!
What I find astonishing is that one party is highly criticized for unsolicited support from nefarious special interest groups, but the exact same question is NEVER asked of the opposing party. A prime example would be Mr. A. Cooper asking Mr. Trump if he would challenge the election results but failed miserably to ask the same question of Ms. Clinton. This is why Americans are highly critical and distrustful of news sources and networks. This method of reporting only fuels bias and bigoted opinions; of which you are very guilty Mr. Sabastian.
I wish all the world's journalists were like Mr Sebastian.
Good there are some journalists like Tim Sebastian. There should be more like him.
The US Army is the most powerful.
