Maintenance means further transfer of scarce funds abroad for parts. Can't you guys see the scam in these projects? Eventually, these infrastructures will break down, and lie dormant. Meanwhile, politicians would've collected their kick-backs. The country is virtually broke, and facing extreme lack of economic opportunities, which has resulted in lack of jobs, extreme hardship, crimes, insecurity and chao. And Federal and State Governments are scrambling over each other to sign contracts that pays millions of scarce dollars to foreign firms: 13 billion dollars! 900 million! 400 million! Meanwhile, citizens are suffering extreme hardship and hunger. Signing multi million dollar construction contract with foreign firms is the oldest method the ruling class uses to legitimately transfer funds abroad.

Lagos State people are also facing lack of jobs, extreme hardship, crimes, insecurity and chaos. Lagos Government can also create export industries to generate foreign exchange revenue, and create sustainable jobs. People are suffering, and governments are paying foreign firms $900 million for infrastructure that do not address immediate economic crisis. Infrastructure they cannot even maintain. Yes oh I was thinking about the same thing with regards to the provisions for the disabled at the station and on the train itself do they have disability friendly entrance for wheelchair and in the train itself where are the disabled supposed to seat?
We have a long way to go in that country in terms of how we relate to the people with disabilities like it's their fault and they should find solutions to their problems by themselves without the help of the society and governments 😢
Anyone can be disabled suddenly so no one can say I'm exempted!! 😅
We know only this moment bin our lives and no one knows what will happen the next minute! May God help us to remember to be compassionate and care about others. The government has to be at the forefront of making good changes like when we had the operation WAI, It made me realize that the people can change if they have the right government with the right programs so there's hope for the country when we have an enlightened government

The infrastructure is well needed. Money put to good use. Our Africans market women and sellers are stubborn. Walking through train tracks is never advisable any where in the world. The government will have to form some disciplinary measures for citizens walking or selling between train tracks, if not, catastrophic waiting to happen.

These are ex-British trains that used to operate as the Intercity 125 service connecting the major cities of the UK. They were built mostly in the 1970s/early 1980s and were a reliable workhorse on the British rail system for years. Good to see them getting a new lease of life in West Africa.
Weird seeing the seating arrangements like that in these trains cos they always used to be rowed seating but then these are now being used as local commuter trains so this seating arrangement maximises standing space

Great work. Appreciate showing us the Red Line. The picture quality and sound quality is very commendable.
However I have a few observations which I will want you to take on with a positive view.
It will be good if you work on the accuracy of the information you are providing and the correct names of the locations and thier historical importance. You called Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) a stadium, it is not. It is actually of great historical importance. You said Lagos has a population of 28million, also not true. The Cowrie Creek Bridge is not the first bridge in Lagos. You said the next rail line to be constructed is the Purple Line, also not true. You should also learn to pronounce the names of the locations correctly. Content creators are the journalists of many, so you should ensure your information is correct.
Please keep up the good work. I see greatness coming!

Don't worry, new new metro trains have been purchased for this redline and are on the way, These 2 Talgo trains were bought from America and was originally designed for interstate travel between Miami and Milwaukee city. The Lagos state govt had to convert hence the sitting arrangement. Once the new coaches come in, these ones would probably be given to the Nigerian Railway corporation owned by Federal Govt to run Lagos ibadan route since they share the same rail corridor.

I don't want to talk this down as it's a big deal and I'm incredibly happy to see Nigeria building the infrastructure it needs. However, these trains were built in the 1970s (Intercity 125s, also known as HSTs) in the UK. They served us very well and revolutionised Intercity rail travel in the UK and as a member of railway staff in the UK, it's great to see them still going. But while they're being used as metro trains for now, they're not designed as such and don't perform brilliantly for suburban style stopping patterns. They also aren't up to modern crash safety standards (God forbid). I hope these are replaced with new build metro trains soon, because you'll see a big difference and your metro will be even better than now. But everyone has to start somewhere and wish your city all the success with expansion and operation.
