For the issue of the faces at 4:49 just select all the vertices in edit mode and then press M > merge by distance. Then just press F to fill. - When you duplicate the two edges and move them, the vertices aren't connected.
A Prcedural setup I use works from a basic plane. Basically First you isolate the faces with normals that aren't Z-Up. Then you split the edges, before scalling the faces on the Z axis to 0. If you loop cut the plane you are using as your base object this will create steps. It is then easy to replicate the solidify modifier in the node tree. this is very easy to do and allows things such as making a whole stair and walkway layout from one mesh.
@@TheCGEssentials You need to remove the undercover duble vertices, I use a special blender plug-in that reduces, for example, triangular walls according to the materials, and it is also worth turning on the visibility of the sides of the walls, red or blue, often some of them are rotated and UV rap does not want to work. The add-on is bmesh clean a few dollars. I also use the construction lines add-on, a small add-on ~$9. This bmesh add-on removes loose vertices, lines, faces, doubles, etc. If you press X, do you have the "dissolve" or other options > I watch the little tricks of the guy who runs the channel www.youtube.com/@BlenderSecrets . Spent a ton of time trying to model stairs on a world I was making for a game (VRChat)... was a low poly import from Townscaper that I was replacing assets in for higher quality detail, and I have struggled immensely with the stairs... they are all at irregular angles, roughly 10-30 degree turns about halfway... tried arraying and even manually placing them, and just couldn't find a solution that worked well. Likely use the bevel example in the beginning as I have been struggling for years trying to get the "world" were I want it in a decent amount of time lmao. Next step would probably be the railing, which there is a lot of... then road textures/atlases
guH! the abrasive intro "bwhatsupguys!!!" - i cant stand it. I try to skip past it for every video, but somehow i'll forget and bam!! love the content though
It’s a quick station ID, not a 30 second dated motion graphics intro. I think I remember he dropped it for a few videos and it was like he had forgotten his hat or revealed his actual pirate voice and facial tattoos from a previous life.
Hello! Thx for info! What do you think, where is better modeling Architecture (interior and exterior), Rhino or Blender ? Visualization will be at Unreal Engine.
how do you pull up custom settings? what button did you use? I don't know how you pulled up that menu. i cant seem to do half of what you do. i tried to select the two edges to delete them. took for ever to figure out a way. with dragging the mouse across the two points. now I'm at the part. where you deleted the face. i think I have it selected press X and dissolve face just like you did. nothing happened. how are you selecting things? ohh I see! in edit mode 1 is for vertex, 2 is for edge and 3 for faces.
Nope - my tutorials will pretty much always be Imperial because that's what we use where I live. You should just be able to Google typical stair dimensions in metric and use your own values

Hi everyone! Let me know what your method is for creating stairs in the comments below! :)
For the issue of the faces at 4:49 just select all the vertices in edit mode and then press M > merge by distance. Then just press F to fill. - When you duplicate the two edges and move them, the vertices aren't connected.
thanks man, it actually works :D
Amazing fix! YOU ARE MY HERO!

"Every video is about useful things. Great work!"
You should merge the vertices by distance.
Is that what's causing the issue of the fill at the stair profile?

@ratuldebnath8134 - Silly mistake on my part - thanks!

Thank you so much, brother!

The base point bit was very confusing
What happened to the course, url link can not find page ???
Great video
Thanks!
my steps are getting bigger too when i use empty for my round stairs, how do i fix that?

Hello I like your tutorial but can you setup your units in metric units? In Europe we don't use it so it is not easy to convert it to metric units

Just make an array for the steps 😅
i find a solution for fill the plane only finish your stairs dont fill, press r y 90 , then press f and all the stairs will be filled correctly. :)
common we all know you could always just use a THICer pole hahaha!!!
