- Cutting logs with an old cross cut saw.
In my previous video I restored this old cross cut saw. I wanted to try, so I went out to the woods to make a test cut.
The music in the video are: • Jason Shaw PLANTATION
• Jason Shaw SOLO ACOU...
If you take the helper handle off the front of the saw and put it near the handle it will run a lot better. Also the G.A. pattern is ideal for dry wood.
I need a saw like this
loved your saw but I think I liked the side guitar more!
Back when these were used by everyone, woodcutters usually had a can of kerosene to free up the blade/lubricate when it started tightening up.
how does this work? i live in a third world country and i have no money to buy those expensive chainsaws any tips to explain this pls.
Nice! Also love the music!
Nice cutting! Please tell me who's playing guitar in the background?
The small handle on the narrow part of the blade should unscrew and reattach in the hole near the main handle for one man operation. I used to cut my firewood with one of these.
That's exactly right! It just didn't bother me! 🙂
Great tool to have!

It’s probably sharpened to cut soft wood check out the crosscut saw Manual it tell you how to sharpen it
@@scottytroxell9300 tooth style and saw set is also a consideration.
He's cutting dry dead oak in the video. That's hard.
Also check the hammering
Nice saw, where did you get it from?
Why not use the helper handle?
It's right there on the end???
