It’s dangerous to put that big woodblock into such a small oven😮 The enamel can be destroyed if you fire so hard. Oven plates can twist, causing the oven to crack, which in turn causes the oven to have an uncontrolled air supply. Never fill the combustion chamber more than two-thirds full. Chimneys bursting and flames engulfing the house🙈It is then important to fire within what the fireplace or stove is designed for. Just a rants from a Norwegian with lots of experience with wood burning 😅
🖐🏼Nope, I didn't know about the ottor having a pouch for their favourite rock. How utterly adorable. As are those hedgehogs! Awww. Such heart-warming gifts and literally warming with you rnew duvet!!! Love, Jacqueline from New Zealand who also has a large log on the fire 🔥
I really have to make a comment about the large piece of wood Phillip put in the stove. If the stove gets too hot it can crack the internal heat bricks but worst of all if too much heat comes out of the stove, it can cause damages to surrounding areas ie; fire surrounds even causing plaster to detache from the ceiling I know from experience. I do feel the most beautiful teapot and very expensive shouldn't be put on top of the stove, once cracked it is beyond repair. I also think the heat could damage the back of the chairs. I don't like making negative comments but I'm really worried you will have damages. I left my stove open full and forgot it. Hence the ceiling cracking and falling.
My first quick comment: Be very very careful about overloading the firebox of your log burners. Consequences can be serious including damage to the venting system or the firebox itself. Remember, only you can prevent unnecessary chatastrophies.
Such wonderful gifts. I love watching gift opening and anything La Lande. I check every day to see if anything has been posted. Thank you so much for sharing.
Decant the salts into wee pouch bags with ribbon for the guests, that way its a treat for them NOT from a half used jar !! No one would use that much for a short stay anyway !! And it would be just the right amount for a guest stay. Xx
I binge watched all your past vlogs during the quarantine, and I am now a faithful viewer, thank you, but I had never heard Phillip talk of the behavior of otters before today! I did know they hold hands while they sleep and rest afloat in the water so as not to drift apart, but I did not know whey have an underarm pouch in which they store a rock! I love that Phillip says they store "their favorite rocks" in these pouches, though I think they place rocks in these pouches as a way to counter their buoyancy. Maybe both perspectives are true, the rocks provide weight and make them less buoyant/floaty and they become attached to the rock which is the right weight for them!
This weeks gifts were truly fantastic and generous and will surely be appreciated for a long time. Really shows how attentive the followers are to details in videos, things mentioned, needed, and the personal styles and likes of everyone at the chateau. How that beautiful duvet with sheet will keep you snug and look smashing with your bed, Sultana sends such fabulous gifts! 😍
I think Michael could just send a package full of his clever cards and we would all be absolutely delighted! (No, I am not saying the gifts aren't always thoughtful and beautiful, 'cause they are. But the extra time and effort he puts into the cards and poems really make the gifts all the more special!)
Ok at around 21:14 minutes when Phillip opened the otter socks, I fully expected a pun from him such as “they were “ otterly adorable”. 🤣. This was a fun vlog. Thank you !
FYI there are jackets with battery operated heaters inside the coats. Originally developed for ski coaches standing on hills all day in the cold. Cheers from Toronto
Reading the title, I thought for sure you were gifted an electric blanket. I was wrong, but is luxurious to get into a warm, cozy bed in the winter - just as luxe as the beautiful bedding you received! ☃And I LOVED the snowmen cards! I have a heart for snowmen being from MinneSNOWta, USA. ⛄
❤kindly can you get a tripod to hold the camera for cadeaux filming because Philip speaking behind the camera constantly blows the ears drums when listening on head phones
What beautiful gifts, each one so sensible and will be used so gratefully by the Lalande family. I love sharing your joy and laughter when opening gifts. Thank you 💕🇦🇺
Wow the gifts today are really nice. Stephanie, I think maybe the zipper pouch might be for putting in the warmers for the hand. Also happy birthday Natalie, happy valentine and then looking forward to Easter. God bless you and yours. Love, jenwhite 💜💕😊
I live in Michigan also and we love going to Shipshewana Indiana. If you get a chance Google it. Such a cute little town and fun to see all the Amish riding around in their horse and buggies. Lots of craft and specialty shops.
Michael always sends beautiful and appropriate to season, situation or personal gifts. The insight he has for the gifts he gives are dead on the mark for the recipients. Just shows how insightful and wonderful of a man that he is.
What fabulous bath goodies, did they say the proceeds go towards adults with learning problems. If they are a charity perhaps they could be considered for your Cadeaux donations
What beautiful gifts again today. Stephanie, I had a little giggle when you said you had a rather thin feather duvet that is not quite warm enough for winter - I have the opposite problem of having a feather duvet that is too warm for our climate, so I said (to the TV) ‘Let’s swap’!!😅🥰
What a joy it is to share your happiness and loving humility. You receive such thoughtful gifts and always show such true delight in them. Your little clan of friends are truly special and intriguing. . 🌻 always remember to take a moment out of each day, make a small memory with a friend and place it in your heart ❤ Stay warm, healthy and happy 😊
As a low waste enthusiast I encourage you to save all the canning jars to use for preserving food, food storage, or anything your heart desires. Or I’m sure the thrift stores around you would love them because people love to thrift canning jars. :)
@@ClaraknowsALL221 I get we have a lot to do, but If we don’t make steps to be more eco friendly, even if they require a bit more exertion, the planet is going to die. Now with that being said, I get that a person can only do what a person can do. So that’s why I said “encourage” not “demand.”
Phillip, I had never heard of the fact that otters hold hands while they are asleep so they do not drift apart, and I would like to hear about the pouch under their arms? It’s a comment out of caring. I was thinking the same things!!
yes first time i heard about an otter storing a rock under his "arm" and i watch all the time, i must of missed it before 🤣🤣
Log splitter? I think that Yulesized log was a mistake.🦔🦔🦔🔥🔥🔥
You should invest in a log splitter for Philip
Yes!!!😬

I have to say, it was the first time I had heard the otter story lol. How adorable 🤗
me too
@@janinebarron2691 me too😂
My partner and I also call each other my otter half, and have for years. There are videos of the otters floating around holding hands. =)
The logs. Trying to put a gallon in a pint pot comes to mind. 😂
Please have someone SPLIT the logs before putting them into such a small place!
Stephanie ( Nati) I hope you are archiving all of these wonderful letters. Imagine how new discoverers of Lalande will relish them in 200 years time!
Why not just chop the wood in 2 or 3 smaller pieces?
Or at least have someone do the chopping.
Some homes here in the US put a cast iron pot on top of burner with water in it for added humidity!
First time I’ve heard about otter pit pocket! So cute we have otters here I had no idea how specialized they are thank you P.
The chemistry between you3 (all the Lalanders!) are wonderful. ♥️🇿🇦
I'd love to see that duvet! As always, fun time and lovely gifts! I never miss one🤩
. . .and Dan the Man! (The gloves!)
Michael always sends wonderful gifts
Darn! Was hoping to see the duvet all situated!!
Guess we’ll have to wait for the next vlog 😋
Beautiful gifts as always !
Pls next time show us your new beddings 😍
Hugs to everyone
I think the gifts for the men were very specific who they go to. If you read it carefully.
Putting on logs that big could cause fires where you don't want them
Muy Feliz Cumplí Nattie. What a joyful video, the Snowman cards are priceless. Thanks so much for always having such delightful moments and fun.
I love to see the gifts from all over the world! Thank you for introducing me to a world of new products to shop for online!! Lol. Enjoy!!

It is Michael T. He was a guest and is friend of Lalande

Ahahahaha no, I hadn't heard about otters keeping their favorite rock under/in their armpit! But I did know they hold hands.
Perhaps a pair of gloves for Michael Potts, too!
I recommend an Aussie wool comforter.
I knew about the hand holding but I’ve never heard about the rock pocket. I’ll be going down a wiki rabbit hole after the gifts are unwrapped. ❤️🇨🇦
i thought you would smother flame, but no. chopping wood though is good for arms.........

Yes, and they form a chain link of them so families don't drift apart and it's called a raft.
Yes, they really do hold hands, bobbing on the water
