The answer is yes but the possability is no. If what you are thinking regarding it having multiplayer is what I think it is the answer is no. Whether that be controlling one character instead of 3 or each of you controlling your teams simultaniously the answer is no. The combat isnt made for multiplayer in any regard. If it did allow such a thing you at best would be controlling a single character with nobody to swap into and be at a severe disadvantage in fights and if youboth get your own teams then the gamebecomes too easy and no longer engaging. For the arcade modes? sure go nuts but not the combat it simply cant work with how the system is designed to function.
Multiplayer wouldn't work in this game. Both your offensive and defensive options are centred around switching. Multiplayer usually means losing this ability as every character usually is individually controlled. In gi for example, while its fun, its usually far more efficient to go solo because characters are designed around their interactions with eachother.
Update guys, they did add multiplayer in the latest beta! But no one has played it yet... theyre looking for feedback on it I believe.
