Best shoes ever; onto my second pair. So comfortable, heat mouldable and just so stiff. I worn them for a 14 day event, no issues. Only show where I don’t get hot spots. Simply best in class.
I guess I'll have to give them a try!
How long or how many miles did the 1st pair last?
Superb shoes!! I've been through 4pairs and one of them Is for Gravel, can get away with it on long days. Thank you for the video, review and your effort in making this.😊👌
Thanks and Recommended for all
these are the only shoes that fit (actually there are few other manufactures who offer molding), specially if feet are slightly different
Maybe I'll have to get me a pair!
Nice looking shoes!
Lijkt me echt vet om een keer op de baan te rijden !
Great video again! I appreciate them so much. How did you implement the display of speed and heartrate at the end?
Thanks! I used the Garmin Virb software
Sole stiffness is a stupid marketing trend in cycling. In general all road cycling shoes are plenty stiff (90% +). If you can't flex the sole with your hand it's already insanely stiff. For competition I can understand you want a carbon sole but for the average rider there are many plastic shoe's that are plenty stiff as well.
Detmer the big difference is the upper shoe!
The big difference is one foot and leg are exerting way more force plus body weight over and over than your 2 hands and upper body strength are capable of testing for torsional stiffness 🤣 just saying
Have you seen Coombe pedals and cleats?
I tried Bont. A nice lateral shape for the forefoot, but not enough vertical space for my toes. I wear Lake.
Never tried Coombe pedals yet, I'll check them out!
@@Fernwee I've been riding Bill's original design for years, and Speedplay's Pave pedal is its rip off. SP cleats are over engineered and too fiddly.
The new Coombe's are a very pleasing combination of form and function. A classical aesthetic, which i think you would appreciate (but you also liked the 3T frame). They would look good on a J Guillem.
If you do get to try them let me know how they are - i.e. make a video :-). I don't need them yet. Bill sent to me his last pair of NOS cleats ( a desk drawer find), so i'm good for a while. So, make that video.
It’s a shame they look like Cornish pasties!........ glad they work well for you....my Lakes were also heat customisable but only the heel cup....Australia for the win?
(Still love SIDI though)
I've always wondered about BONTS. They have a unique look as well as the oven-molding offering makes them stand alone peculiar.
Will you ride these in a Crit? If so, please share your review.
Absolutely, I'll be using these all year during crits, will let you know how they perform!
Bont has traditionally used a wide forefoot last. Even if you heat mold them I'm very surprised to hear that your narrow Giro width foot is supported by them. Are they using a narrow last shape now? Bont have been very popular at the velodrome because of their extreme support and stiffness, makes total sense for crits too.
Hey Julian, the Vaypor S is available in four standard widths; regular, narrow, wide and Asian fit. You'd be surprised by how many riders are unaware, due to their current shoes stretching outwards in the toe area, that they would actually better suited to the Bont wide fit too.
Narrow foot person here... Bont regular is only marginally wider than Giro, they just aren't pointy at the front. I got sore feet in the Giro shoes. Got the Bont Zero in narrow... never looked back.
great stuff
Hey bud, is this the Pearl White color Vaypors?
Are the graphics matte black or shiny black?
have you done any long rides (100km or more) in the shoes & are they comfortable for long rides ?
How Martjin, which video did you show the visit to Kimberly to get them custom painted? i've searched all your playlists but can't find it. Bedankt.
It’s in this one: ua-cam.com/video/o0sop9_Z4RM/v-deo.html
Nice Shoes👌.
Did you know, before Bont produced cycling shoes. Bont originally made one of first carbon fiber boots for Short Track speed skates?
And through my publication "Speedskating Times" convinced Bont to produce boots for inline speed skaters.
I feel like a proud father as the company continues to break open new roads.
That’s awesome, I remember in grade school (25 years ago) in-line speed skating in Bont Hustler Boots that were heat molded and I loved them.
we want fixed gear vid!🙁
Shout out from milan italy
I hope everything is going well over there!
@@JeremyBenfield thanks bro
kinda look like the shimano’s s-phrye
Boa dials on the track... not a sprinter 😂 Or at least not a strap user.
Price is 360 EUR . Omg
used bont shoes on velodrome about 5 years, and this is really fucking perfect shoes. but i can't riding in this shoes on road bike)
but velodrome performance is amazing
Why cant you ride them on the road bike. I was planning on, but is it because you just don't have the same cleats or something, or is it because they are not good for the road
@@chickenleg123 because velodrome has sterile conditions, like perfect road without vibrations and stable temperature and of course you make a pauses. Your foots always stable. But on roads you never know what happens (once was 27+ on the street and my foot getting very big). just my opinion
@@AndroMuteli thanks for the heads up, I also race on the track a bit so maybe I'll use them only on the track
Ik leven in de Nederlands, het zou zijn heel fijn als je het me kon vertellen, waar kun ik inschrijven voor fixie racen?
I live in the Netherlands it would be super nice if you could tell me where I can sign up for fixie races? Sorry for the bad Dutch.
Yo, you cant sign up for 2020 races yet, but all announcements about upcoming races are made here: instagram.com/nlcritseries?igshid=1g5wawcl0qemq
