I always wonder about how ate Solenn and kuya Erwan were brought up. They're both kind, classy, humble, and talented despite their family background. I mean, how can someone be this perfect? They can almost do everything! Mapapa-sana all ka na lang talaga.
For me as a viewer and for someone who also bakes. Erwan won this one. Aesthetically from the outside Erwan's cake doesn't look great but when he sliced the cake, the inside was moist and good looking. Plus putting dry ingredients to the wet ingredients is a brilliant idea since it reduces the risk of clumps when mixing and it aerates the batter to give it a moist texture. Great job guys.

Loved this episode. As a home baker, I knew Erwan would win this. But Erwan... you were doing so well until you placed all the batter in one pan. My heart sank as it would definitely come out raw in some parts of the cake! Good on sifting and just incorporating the batter though. :)
SPOILER ALERT. LOL. I’ve always been team solenn, but as soon as erwan added the nutmeg and ginger powder with the apple sauce plus the amount of icing he made, i knew he was going to win.

Loved this sibling cook-off episode! Erwan's cake looks delicious. Would be great if you could not cook or bake with vegetable oils tho, they're highly inflammatory :(
You can substitute it with sunflower oil to make it more healthy. Aside from that, sunflower oil adds flavor and sweetness to the cake. Pwede din pong melted butter.

I love carrot cake .mine is like erwans recipe except I dont add apple sauce.and nuts.i may give it a try nxt time.the spices I add to my carrot cake are:1 tsp.cinnamon powder and 1/2tsp.all spice powder.it smells so good because of this two .solin version is ok but it's kinda so dense.its because she incorporate a lot of solid ingredients like the pineapple slices and the nuts.i choose ersan recipe bec it's the same as my recipe.im addicted to carrot cake I bake it twice a month.i dont add frosting anymore because it's too sweet ,you know bad for health
