Remember last year when Bill Wang thought Tymon might be better than Feliks? Feliks showed true world champion class to win Warm Up Sydney, and has bested the world record average and OcR 3x3 single since then! Tymon is on a hot streak, winning back-to-back Cubing At Home titles, beating Patrick Ponce in a nail-biter, and getting all of his ao25+ PBs during matches.

Hugely entertaining. Was cheering for Feliks as I met him in London in 2018 I believe and he is probably one of the nicest person you'll come accross. Tymon sounds like a nice humble (future) champion too. Commentary combination was perfect guys. Cubing is just fab, pretty much anyone can do it and even past 40 I understand the banter (orange hoodie v yellow shorts = priceless) and can learn from the best.

Tymon uses strategies. Like on second last solve he got to see Feliks bad time and then Tymon just went slow with no mistakes. He does things like this at other times to give himself the edge.

He got a 5.06, which was .07 seconds away from a 4 second solve. In Tetris, which lazermonkey plays, all the shapes are made up of four blocks. Edit: The 5.06 doesn’t happen until later in the video, in which Tetris is brought up again.
tetris means a 4 second solve
tetra is latin i think or greek for fourth and tetris blocks are made of 4 cubes so getting a four second solve is sometimes called a tetris

How about a 5x5 first to 25 matchup? You maybe could bring up people like Bill, Ciaran, Sebastian or Patrick. It‘d just be important to bring people with really similar averages, that‘s why I think bringing Max to the stream doesn‘t really make much sense. But I‘d love to see some big cube action in such a battle

Man, so I was following along, pausing, solving the scrambles myself, and then seeing how they did.

I feel like that's probably a fairly decent intermediate level solver solution. But I can't execute it in under 13s (so far). The only tricky things are the D'-B'-D to preserve those 2 pairs during cross and the OLL ends up being a shit case that I can't execute very consistently.
I normally average in the 30s range. PB is 20.19.
Makes me think...I'll probably never be sub-15, let alone sub 10. Which only amplifies my amazement at how these people do this 😱

@@tanishq_kudu_18 I'm sub-30 now. I often have streaks of low 20's solves once I get warmed up with occasional dips into 18s and 19s. PB is 13.94 on Rubik's connect. I also use Twisty Timer on my phone and CS Timer on PC. Rubik's keeps the most data though. Out of 875 solves with it so far, about 3.77% have been sub-20.
Progress is and will probably always remain slow and arduous though.

@@tanishq_kudu_18 That's great, man. Funny coincidence with the PBs 😄. Yeah, it was a freak solve where cross was easy, all the F2L pairs were easy cases (and I just happened to see each one right away) and I believe a PLL skip. So on one hand I'm not surprised but on the other hand, my previous PB was 16-something so it was unexpected to see it drop by 3s.
