    So proud of this cast! Proud of the women for expressing their thoughts & stories! Proud of these men for taking the time to listen and want to learn more on how to make sure women feel safe.

    As impressed as I was with the posting of the previous video I'm even more impressed that it was followed with the posting of this one. I applauded the fact the female members of the cast were given a safe space to be able to tell their stories truthfully and unreservedly. Something completely necessary. But what is also so, so necessary is that those stories are heard by men. So to see the male cast members listening to the stories of their coworkers and friends and see the impact these experiences have had on them, the way in which they're forced (because we as women are forced to live like this) everyday to adjust their behaviors for the pursuit of safety. It means something. I respect their honesty here in admitting maybe they don't know enough, or that there is more they could do, or more they should do. Everyone wants to look after their wife or girlfriend, their sister or mom, their mate but all women are somone's wife, girlfriend, sister, mom, or mate so if the good men can feel a responsibility to all us in that way then it can change everything.

    Everything they said is true, we, as women, have all of those thoughts every single day that we go outside. It's almost second nature. I was flashed at on my paper round as a teen. I was followed home as a teen. All of these things stay with you. I'm NOT trying to stereotype all men but in the same respect. It's hard to feel safe on your own in the street, park or even highstreets. Sorry but this IS SO TRUE

      Sharon Stevens Oh my OA I’m so sorry to hear that. When I was in high school I had to have an aid following me to every one of my classes plus when I’m at work and I’m always afraid of bringing in grocery carts from the parking lot because I’m worried I’ll get snatched by a Person and the security cameras will get hacked into. I’m afraid to even walk down to McDonald’s which is about a few blocks away from where I live. 😔

      Jay Warner Ikr? Not everyone is the same I really hope this message will give the bad Males a lesson for what they should do irl. What do you think???? 🤔

    • @Threadbow
      @Threadbow 2 роки тому

      @Chelsey Linden I'm not sure the bad guys will; however, if the good guys discuss this and call out behaviour, Then that is the direction being given and we can only hope that peer pressure works.
      Some may not realise that what they do scares women and girls.
      Some realise that they should cross the Rd and not walk behind a girl/woman. Some more actively do this so as to not scare us now; they are aware.
      The behaviour change needs to come from men, and their culture needs to change. Eg if a guy wolf whistles, his friends should discourage him.
      We need the good guys as allies, that's what it boils down to OA

    more men are starting to learn and understand what women are going through on a daily basis but it doesnt seem to be getting any better. The fact that I am in the "Men" category but I would never imagine making a women feel uncomfortable really does annoy me since i dont want to be a part of "Men" if that means being hated because of only certain mens mistakes. For example if I was at a bar and i saw a woman and I wanted to get to know her better I would feel way too uncomfortable to say anything just incase they are scared of me and I dont want people to see me that way. I Am Not Like Those Men!

      Since Sarah Everand's death, a lot more ppl are starting to be aware of female safety. What Richard Blackwood is saying here is right, think if that's your mother or sister getting cat-called, sexist comments, or harrassed from guys. That was pretty sobering to watch those guys get emotional watching their female counterpart's experiences of that.

    In June this year I was out with some work colleagues and at the end of the night there was only 2 of us left me and a male colleague who despite living about 15 miles away from me got a taxi for the both of us to make sure I got home safe as I was insistent on walking home due to being unable to get a taxi me self and it would have been an hour walk for me. He refused to let me do that and booked an Uber for both of us even though he was going 35 minutes in the opposite direction as he said he didn’t feel comfortable letting a female that he was out with go home by herself. I’ve never told him this since but it did mean a lot to know that he was concerned enough about me getting home that he was prepared to be in a taxi for an extra half an hour going in the opposite direction so I didn’t have to walk.
