Being a Seahawk fan, I do not give Russell Wilson the credit for the super bowl. He was a game manager and we had a great running offense and all-time. Defense, and yes he lost that second super bowl for us. He should have audible into a run for lynch. Wilson frustrated me at times but also some of those games he did win for us on the journey. How many QBs in their 1st ten years in the league have passed for over 40,000 yards and rushed for over 5,000 yards, while having a passer rating over 100...can't wait to see your list. Eli Manning was worth every penny he earned because he carried his team mates, who were average, not great, to 2 super bowl wins. I never heard any of those players disrespect Eli. I don't understand why so many in the media seem baffled by Russell Wilson being unpopular. 1) As many have said, he is fake AF. He is like a bad politician kissing a baby because it makes a good photo op. 2) He threw an INT at the 1 yard line and screwed a bunch of beloved people out of a Super Bowl win they should have had. Maybe that was the worst play call in the history of the NFL. . . BUT. . . that doesn't excuse Wilson throwing a pick. 3) He is overrated. Many people realize that he got a lot of lucky breaks in Seattle and ultimately he isn't on the level of an Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, or Patrick Mahomes . . . even though everyone acted like he was. He NEVER got an MVP vote for a reason. Running around, closing your eyes, and throwing it downfield to a 6'5" tall receiver isn't spectacular QB play, its great WR play. 4) Seattle is good and Denver is bad. This is literally the OPPOSITE narrative to Tom Brady. Brady left New England and gets a Super Bowl while the Patriots flounder. Wilson goes to the Broncos (who stink) and Seattle is winning big with a team full of rookies and Geno fucking Smith. 5) Everyone has been consistently waiting for Wilson to cut out his schtick and just be real for a minute and I think we are all getting tired of doing that.

Also, how many quarterbacks had 100 or less interceptions when they reach the 300 passing TD mark. I'm sorry, one more. How many QBs in their 1st ten years in the league have passed for over 40,000 yards and rushed for over 5,000 yards, while having a passer rating over 100...can't wait to see your list. These types of discussions would go a long way in creating a very different narrative about Russell, but I know that's not your goal.

It’s not a riddle. What I can’t figure out is why people think Russ’s corniness gives them the right to revise history and create false narratives about what he has done on the field.
Rodgers and a lot of other QBs haven’t been likable. I don’t think any QB always says things they really think. Okay, Russ is corny, sometimes comes off as inauthentic, etc. but there are athletes who have committed crimes who get rested better than Russ does. Mike Tyson (the boxer not the former Seahawks defender) and Chad Johnson would be more welcome around some NFL locker rooms.

Quarterbacks in general are way overpaid compared to other positions especially running backs. Only the best of the best QBs are worth the money they are paid and the other players on the team know it. They can easily come to resent it if the QB has a few bad games. Eli Manning was worth every penny he earned because he carried his team mates, who were average, not great, to 2 super bowl wins. I never heard any of those players disrespect Eli. Wilson, in particular, made a big show of getting paid top dollar. Denver is not going to have patience with a guy pulling down $40 million a year and losing games.
