I live in Russia and I'd trade everything for living in the atmosphere like that, when everyone's chill and positive. Believe me, you don't want to live in a place where everyone is constantly scared and expects the worst.

Great to see a video like Casey used to do. It's more telling a story than seeing lots of videos of planes etc. I like both types of videos Casey does, but these story telling videos (like the one about the iPod battery and the bike lanes) are what made me first interested in his videos.

I'm not sure there's anything to deal with: the terrorist acted alone, he was quickly caught, the damage of the bomb was limited and nobody was seriously injured. It is nothing like 9-11-2001, or the Boston marathon bombing. People go about their business because it seems like the area has been very lucky this time (thankfully).

It's a socially acceptable form of conveying condolence to those we care about, but might not know directly or personally.
went to New York City last year and never did I feel unsafe or nervous. people are friendly and i plan on going back to visit soon. stay strong and long life the USA.

You never know what's your favourite until you've been there. My favourite city is London, but I live just outside it so for obvious reasons it does feel like home. However I never thought I would love Berlin so much until I went there. It's definitely my favourite city outside England.

I've only been to NYC one time, and that was a year ago this past April. I loved my short time there. This video got me a bit choked up, honestly. I know New Yorker's are a somewhat tight group. There is a pride with being a New Yorker that I honestly don't think you can find anywhere else in this country. I think that any place can become resilient in a time of need (look at San Bernardino), but I'm glad to see that everyone there, at least in your video, Casey, is going about their day as usual, knowing that things are OK. Everyone has everyone's back, even if it isn't verbally said.

I remember back when the 7/7 bombings happened in London, I usually took the train from Edgeware road around the time it happened but had my days off switched the day before so was off that morning. I really remember the first day the trains started again and getting on the Piccadilly Line at Hyde park and I didn't see a single other person, what would usually be a crush was just the most empty train I had ever been on in my life which was unnerving. It took a few days for people to start using it again.

My mate's dad was on the tube to work that morning. The fear that something could've happened to somebody close to you, but not knowing is almost as bad as finding out.
That must have been tough on your emotions and nerves being one of the few out and about.

This is probably the most correct video someone can make on an act of terrorism. Show that even with all the terrorists' efforts, the life goes on normally for everyone other than the injured, their relatives and people who have to clean up- that's 100 people at most, out of _eight million_ New Yorkers. More people have traffic accidents per day. I hope for the best for the injured, but the life must go on.

I'm from jersey and I would say we have the exact same attitude towards these situations. Living only an hour from the city, my daily life is so connected to it. I have many friends in the city and frequently make visits. People from jersey are stronger than a storm and certainly stronger than any terrorist attack. UA-cam plays 4k videos at a higher bit-rate than lower resolutions and even if the video is not native 4k It has a noticeable impact on quality.

In the USA we get amber alerts and emergency alerts from the government on our phones. Amber alerts are for missing people in area and the other doesnt need explanation.

You have to turn that feature on to get that, or other messages, if you want. I've opted in for all that I can get and usually only get storm and flood warnings. To get a message about someone, or something, deadly is really rare.
Maybe it varies by state, but in Pennsylvania at least it's opt out, not opt in. It's on by default.
I live in Chelsea, just a few blocks north of where the bomb went off and only a block away from the pressure cooker bomb that was found on 27th. I could both hear and feel the explosion from inside my apartment.
Saturday night I took my dog out for a walk a few hours after the explosion and there were understandably people everywhere. We ran into an adorable lab puppy and stopped to play for at least 20 minutes. To me thats what Chelsea and NY is. We will not let one person keep us from living our lives. We are a community of kind, loving, generous people who love our city and the people we get to share it with. I've never been more proud to call this place home.
