What a breathtaking performance from the whole group and as a bonus the still solid playing of the "Hokkaido Hammer" Yoyoka not for nothing that Mr. Ian Paice adores her so much, he even said that she is the only one who is capable of play this song almost 100%. Thank you Victor for this post.

Wow absolutely phenomenal drumming and this cover is probably the best one I've ever heard. Thank you!

Yoyoka has already been accepted as the solid anchor on drums and it warms my heart.
The transition from child prodigy to "one of the guys" in a new country must be a real challenge
    Thanks for the upload!

@@victorbender60 Great job everyone! Best cover I've seen of "Burn"! YOYOKA is an absolute BEAST! Something in the water over in Japan. I have a special connection with YOYOKA, but there are more like her, mostly female. Senri Kawaguchi (Jazz Avengers) (was youngest ever on DrummerWorld's Top 500 Drummers OF ALL TIME (at age 13) - before YOYOKA took over that honor at age 11.), Akane Hirose (BandMaid), Haruna (Lovebites), Murata Tamu (Nemophila), etc. The west has no idea how far behind they have become to the Japanese Rock/Metal scene. Two of these bands are possibly in top 5 or so in the world right now, yet many have never even heard of them. Check them out if you get time. All of their songs are awesome, and all perform live as well as in the studio, like you guys did! The two guitarists in Lovebites, and Lead Guitarist in Bandmaid are for sure Top 5 in the world right now. Thanks for posting the video. Miyako of Lovebites not only shreds guitar but is a concert level pianist. Here she does the intro and outro on keys. After the intro she grabs her pick off the piano, and solo shreds the guitar before returning for the outro. "LOVEBITES Swan Song Chopin Intro live with lyrics" ua-cam.com/video/dcMVtrvpJpk/v-deo.html I even seen her crushing it on the piano with the guitar strapped to her back.....lol

I've been watching Yoyoka since she was 5 years old. So... 9 years? She _owns_ this song. I'm glad Lee got to hear this before she conquered the world. Although to be honest I think _Murder by Numbers_ is where she first killed it. _YYZ_ is where she graduated, obviously. I love how she gets excited before hitting an opening crash right on the beat. Girl has an atomic clock in her brain.

@janbleeker yes I know you are right. Her improvisations are astounding! Just a coincidence that she dropped Burn and right before or soon thereafter we learned of her elevation to the Top 500 list!

What really put her on the map was when she posted her live cover of Senri Kawaguchi's Onxy. She was seven when she did a cover of Onyx. There was a big difference in Yoyok'as drumming skills between six and seven. She was aleady on the horzion in Japan, but Onxy really went viral in Japan.

This is what caused her entry to HLAG go viral on an international level.

Yoyoka has entered the world of jazz by becoming the drummer for the Ken Okada combo. Senri was into rock and metal before she settled into jazz and fusion. Senri is the best female drummer in the world, with Yoyoka on her heels. Senri, known as the princess of many strokes learned how to play in different time signatures from the late. Kozo Sugunama. Kozo's daughter Satoko is every bit as good as Senri Kaaguchi is but is mostly unknown.
One thing is for sure, jazz will definitely expand Yoyoka's skill set.
Yoyoka has yet to do a cover ot Senri's signature song, Flux Capacitor. Here is the studio version,

      Cover version,
      ua-cam.com/video/ZZ4WpTaCeic/v-deo.html
I am not implying that Yoyoka can't lay down the groove to this song as she has tackled songs such as I Am the Storm by Show-Ya by other notabable Japanese acts.
Yes, I know that Yoyoka is on the top 500 list as is Senri Kawaguchi.
I am sure that, sooner or later, Yoyoka will cover Flux Capacitor. When she does, what I want to see is what grip she uses to drum to the song. She has always been a match grip drummer until recently. She recently started using a tradtional grip when playing with Ken Okada.
Senri never comes out of a match grip when playing jazz no matter how fast the beat becomes or how soft the beat is. The late Jeff Pocaro was the same way when it came to jazz. He never changed his grip on the sticks.
Not that this matters, but is is just a cusiosity to me since she has came to the US.

Her name is YOYOKA now 14yo. She has her own channel and you'll find that she has been gigging since she was 4. about 200 vids now on UA-cam so strap in and enjoy. She'll take you to music you'd never otherwise have listened to and you'll enjoy it. Displaced Andy Hurley for a Fall Out Boy number with a 20000 audience at 10yo. (not her channel but easily found.) Have fun.
