    0:07 🤣😂🤣 So funny!!!
    I dare say, in my remodel adventure, I have learned that lighting is probably the most important thing in a home, or at least right up there towards the top. It's functional, it affects ambiance and mood, has reflective and temperature qualities, provides safety and probably more... and it's SO overlooked!!
    I've never had to deal with a bid before because I'm lucky in that I have a Mr. Fix It husband, but I did ask to see a tree cutter's insurance once, lol! Hey, I wanted to make sure he was covered, in case something happened! 😂 The aspects of a bid sound much like charting in the medical field... if it's not in writing, it doesn’t exist, so what you've said is beyond important!
    I wish I would have known about lighting when my husband was redoing our utility room years ago. The only light he put in there before drywalling is the same one that was there when we moved in... a single flushmount on the ceiling in the center of the room. *SIGH...* Such a missed opportunity! When I'm doing laundry at night (3rd shifter here) with no light coming in the windows (something else to think about!), it's so difficult to catch stains and pretreat before they go in the washer! The way the room is, I'm standing between the light and the surface I use to lay a garment on to check for stains, so my shadow casts over the garment, making it difficult to see. I end up picking it up and angling it towards the light just right so I can get enough light on the surface of the fabric. Let that be a lesson to somebody, I hope!
    I have a request... could you possibly do a video on different types and ways to do undercab lighting and also specifically how to do lighting in glass fronted cabs with wooden shelves so that each shelf is lit? And how to be sure you will be able to dim each kind? I would love to have an all-encompassing video I could send to my husband to explain the basic how-tos and the importance of these things, because if it were up to him, he'd be happy with one big rectangle fluorescent garage light hanging in the middle of the kitchen! 🤣 It would be so appreciated if you can! Btw, awesome job on this video! I could tell you really slowed down your speech (so hard to do, I know!) and I had no problem hitting the pause for pictures I wanted to look at longer. Thank you for another great one!! 👍🏻
    P.S. I will definitely check my email for those tips, thank you! And stop, your hair is gorgeous! I WISH I had your hair!! 😀

      You’re an angel 👼 and I’ll definitely work on the videos. Thanks for the ideas! Now go get yourself some rechargeable under cabinet lights you can stick up in that laundry room! Amazon has tons. I use them more in my poorly lit kitchen. My husband, alas, is only useful in construction to “carry heavy things”🤣

      @@lizbiancoismydesignsherpa Awe, thank you so much! And thank you for considering a video on lighting for under-cab and glass-front cabinets! It's been awhile, but when I looked before, there really wasn't any good, comprehensive videos out there on that subject, so I bet I'm not the only person it would help! I just want to try to make sure everything is done well, and correctly, so that any regrets I might have are minimized... realistically, I don't see me getting out of this remodel without *any* regrets, but I can dream, can't I?! 🤣
      Hmmm, I wonder if they have rechargeable lights that could go on a wall... I'll have to check sometime... or maybe I need something like a sconce. 🤔 Unfortunately, hubby ALSO put that blasted coated wire "shelving" in the utility room, so I don't even have cabinets to put under-cabinet lighting under! 😫 Ugh, if I only knew then what I know now! Well, our husband's try, anyway... 🥴😄 Depending on what my cabinet maker ends up quoting for my kitchen, I might possibly see if he can make me some cabinets in the utility room, too! That would be so nice!
      Take care and have a great day! 😀

    I just love your videos and practical advice! I agree with one of the comments: can you make a video or list of decent light brands and types of lights/what they should highlight in our homes? I've learned so much from you!

      Recessed lights? Or fixtures brands? I’m working on the recessed list!

    • @verntom4628
      @verntom4628 6 місяців тому

      Ok thank you! Yes, I want to know what brands of recessed light are acceptable. Also, I'd like to know the type of light and how many lumens, light spread, etc they should have for the space that we put them in. It doesn't have to be specifics, but maybe a table that lists each type of light (fixture, recessed, gimbal, etc) and the important things about each type.

    Watching with tracing paper over new kitchen remodel layout. Need to remove existing bad recess 6 inches, and replace with better smaller correctly placed spots, and move where pendants will be on moved new island, and a weirdly placed ceiling light that is just floating off edge of kitchen,..

    Love these videos - this maybe a dumb question but what is the name of the recessed light you can mud over so it looks as part of the ceiling? Thank you!

    • @lizbiancoismydesignsherpa
      @lizbiancoismydesignsherpa  8 місяців тому +1

      No dumb questions! WAC has one called the ocularc with a transformer, Lotus and Alcon lighting also have nice trim kits. Check to see style, size and shape is what you need. They are all great quality lights!

    • @elcolighting
      @elcolighting 7 місяців тому

      We have "Trimless" down to 1" that are quite affordable, but also consider our "curved reflector" white trim for Koto in 2"... it gets a good "close enough" look to trimless, without the mud and construction finishing work! Works with a regular 2" remodel can or even canless! It's a great look.
