You're the best Mrs Mad Lemon!
This goes out to all female owners of an Amiga.
Not only Rightfully so, but to Ms Mad Lemon of Amiga and Retro.
Much Love wish I could highlight this. hehe

Agree that TV has gone downhill... and the era of vertical information is over, anyway.

In the US, there's exactly one good traditional TV channel left: PBS.

I'm In Australia, and I totally feel the same way you do about so many things. I stopped watching TV years ago too, I don't even own one anymore. I don't like being told how to think or what I should do or the person I should be. Your right, the internet is going that way and we both find our enjoyment in the past with Nostalgia!
You speak a lot of common sense in a world that is separating us more and more.
These are sad times, lucky we have some of this old 'junk' to bring us some enjoyment while we have this time on earth.
    :)
    Thankyou for keeping it real!

Hiya Maddi ☺️ This was exactly the kind of upload l needed today.
Super ingenious with the FM transmitter circuit and that takes me back to the days in the AV lab nerding it up in 6th form at school…ahh good times 😌
You know l completely agree on your take on how things are and we have spoken about it before..wise words indeed.
Always nice to see a big helping of Mr.Neelix on a video with the usual overseeing, meddling and scaring him with the feedback which had me in stitches lol 😂
Anyways, great video as always and all the best to you, Rich, the feedback frazzled Mr.Neelix and everyone there ☺️

Your choice of Paradox tracks felt quite fitting for this video (my favourite tracks ❤). With you on the current state of humanity. It’s so difficult but I guess the best we can do is to be ourselves regardless of others’ opinions. The neelix telling off and scare were just so funny 😂 all the best!

    What an interesting project!
Small enough for Neelix to take on his travels and transmit Paradox to the whole neighbourhood! He may need convincing you've completely resolved the feedback issue first though. Love how he took a closer look to investigate.
I know almost nothing about electronic components but your 15:50 resistor explanation was perfection and right at my level. 😃

nice little project. also! we have the "same cat" in looks :) I agree with your thoughts on TV and also the way things went in general after mid 2000s. It has caused a flood of unhappy people and a lot of us feels like aliens in this world.
On a more fun note regarding FM transmitter. "a friend" mounted one in our school bus which just made noise when it travelled around. Made us feel like hackers! I wonder if he got the idea from the Simpsons episode you mention.

Some further info.. when you build filter networks like this, the ordinary disc ceramic capacitors are not very good at the job, because the amount of capacitance they have can vary quite widely with temperature and/or applied voltage. This is usually why film capacitors are used instead. Alternatively look for ceramic capacitors with a COG/NP0 type dielectric.
Also because the signal levels involved are quite small, build the circuit inside a metal box, with the case of the box connected to ground. Alternatively, keep the wires between the circuit and the boombox as short as possible. You may be able to use small resistors/capacitors and fit the circuitry inside the RCA plugs.

Cool! I still really like knowing what the video is going to be about from the intro. I haven't really seen that anywhere else! And aren't cats great? The tiniest bit annoying perhaps.. I also think that many here didn't really fit it anywhere. I sure didn't.. You do meet more interesting people being like that I think 😂 It's nice to see full circle here. I started a bit of electronics with building a radio. But I got lots of inspiration from you and I started trying to repair things. Last thing was replacing a display for an audio streamer. It's really not so hard when you actually try.. Thanks for that!

I can only completely agree with you, there are always some in my circle of friends who are too careless in their decisions. It is very difficult to make them realize that they need to be more careful with their decisions. You often have to watch them harm themselves. People can be dangerous, even if they use well-mannered words. Ideology often destroys culture, health, religion, the way we all treat each other. It hurts when you can't see your friend hurting themselves. He even understands it, but as a reaction he avoids talking to you because he doesn't want to change. From this point on I often have to distance myself. I can't watch it either.

FM stereo requires something called MPX encoding to work.. that simple transistor based circuit is not going to do that.
This reminds me of building the AM transmitter circuit with my 200-in-1 electronics kit and being amazed i could make my voice appear on the radio :) I duly changed the circuit so I could connect the output of my hifi into it and "broadcast". It could be picked up outside my house, but not much further than that - even when I set up a 10m long antenna in the garden using some wire and the washing line!

Just for fun, I pasted your schematic image into chatGPT4 and asked it to describe what it was seeing. Here is the reply:-
" The image shows a schematic diagram for an electronic filter circuit. The input is labeled as "500mV input," and the output is labeled as "2.5mV output." The components include:
    - Four resistors (R1, R2, R3, R4) with R1 being 68kΩ (kilohms), R2 at 1MΩ (megohm), R3 at 147kΩ, and R4 at 470Ω (ohms).
    - Three capacitors (C1, C2, C3) with C1 being 2.2nF (nanofarads), and both C2 and C3 at 1.5nF.
The arrangement of the capacitors and resistors suggests this is a type of active filter, possibly a bandpass or bandstop given the multiple capacitor-resistor pairs. The exact type of filter (low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, or band-stop) and its characteristics (like cutoff frequency) depend on the values of these components and their configuration, which resembles a twin-T network that can be used for notch filtering at a specific frequency.
The significant reduction from a 500mV input to a 2.5mV output suggests a significant attenuation at the frequency of interest."
    😁
