Wait, no studio logo? Take my money, Francis!!!
Zoetrope
I DON'T CARE WHAT MOVIE CRITICS LATER SAY ABOUT THIS FILM.... ONE THING I KNOW, IF COPPOLLA REALLY PUT HIS FOCUS ON A FILM THAT HAS BEEN ON HIS MIND FOR NEARLY 40 YEARS, AND HE GOT TO SELL HIS VINEYARD TO MAKE THIS FILM? ?!! DAMN.... IM IN! TAKE MY MONEY...
He didnt sell his vineyard
he screened it to studio execs trying to sell the film, not critics.
Word!
@@CHENCHURIO123007 bro coppolla sell his Sonoma County wineries to Napa-based Delicato Family Wines...since 2021 to finance this film...
You got CAPSED
Francis Ford Coppola? STACKED CAST? YEAH COUNT ME IN! 🔥
me too 🙂
I respect these actors and director but more importantly, this has been a passion project years in the making. Given the scope of this movie, I think one can say that this going to be the most ambitious film Coppola has done in decades.
ok bot
@@ricardocantoral7672this is the only film he’s done in decades
From Apocalypse Now to Megolopolis. Im hype to see Lawrence Fishburne in a Coppola film again.
Yep cool !!! :) But actually (I have to say I have forgotten that but did some research ;) he had small roles also in "Rumble Fish", "Cotton Club" and even "Gardens of stone" :)
Super unexpected, have to admit the trailer looks really interesting and the cast is crazy. I’m pretty sure Laurence Fishbure hasn’t worked with Coppola since Apocalypse Now
Cotton club and rumble fish.. still to your point has been almost 40 years
Fishburne was 14, playing an 18 year old, but looked 24.
I didn't know Laurence Fishborne was in the Apocalypse Now.
Actually he also did small parts in "Rumble Fish", "The Cotton Club" and also "Gardens of Stone" ;)
Yah Coppola has worked with fishburn on a lot. Rumblefish is a wicked good little film.
I seriously hope this movie does really well, so it will prove we don't need Hollywood to make amazing films, it will prove directors can actually create their dream projects
Yeah by selling their wine company that they founded with the millions they made making studio films for over 4 decades lmaoo
People who have seen it say its terrible. This film had a tough time finding a distributor because no studio wanted it. I love him and I'm excited to see it, but it's not going to do good.
Coppola is a real outsider. 😂
Lol, sorry to break it to you but this movie might get a worse reception from the public than critics and its unmarketable. It won't do well.
It will definitely get beat by Deadpool and Wolverine.
10 minute standing ovation at Cannes. Now I have heard mixed reviews. Do not care what critics say, gonna see it! ❤
He just lost his wife of 60 years, Eleanor. Heartbreaking loss. RIP 😢
Also booing at Cannes. Haters gonna hate. Even if the film itself isn't great it's already generating a ton of controversy; and if it is great, even better. I'm looking forward to seeing it anyway.
This is cinema.
Francis Ford Coppola vs. Hollywood
My money's on Francis
Oh this is ABSOLUTELY a movie to watch on IMAX
I'm afraid not, the effects aren't very high quality so I'd stick to 1080p.
@@glacialimpala News actually reported he wanted and intended it to be viewed on IMAX & Large Screens. So yes IMAX.
@@debbiefox6846 huh! Well I'm happy if Coppola had his wishes come true, he's old and seems nice
probably the coolest Midnight Cowboy reunion you could ever hope for....
This comment is highly underrated.
oh right, I almost forgot Jon Voight and Dustin Hoffman are in this
Just watched Midnight cowboy after seeing this comment currently crying.
@@marcopololos It is a true masterpiece of cinema.
Let's make this movie a huge success and give a giant middle finger to the Hollywood execs and media who are already trying to tank it .
Really they're trying to tank it? Why would they do that? Would think Coppola has plenty of fans in the industry.
@@ct6852 he self financed and is working outside the industry and studio system. They see him as a threat if he's successful and a gamble if they support him.
@@ghostlightdc Oh I see. Sounds like maybe Coppola is insistent on being independent more than the other way around. Because it's hard to believe there aren't plenty in Hollywood who would jump at the chance to work with the director of the Godfather trilogy and Apocalypse Now.
@@ghostlightdc:
It's not really up to us whether it's a success or not. We'll see when it's released. It looks intriguing enough to me, and there's nothing about it that indicates that it's particularly bad; the fact that it seems to focus on grander themes and historical processes is a big plus in my book.
Shia LeBouf is going to be in this movie? Whoa. He hasn’t been in a movie in a while.
Ke Huy Quan, Jamie Lee Curtis and Brendan Fraiser made a comeback since their debut in Everything Everywhere All At Once and The Whale
Apparently coming from a fair amount of people who've seen it, he's the best part of the movie.
This is like Citizen Kane had a child with Inception
Yessss
Hope this movie will be a huge success and all the big studios will cry
It got a pretty lackluster reception at Cannes Film Festival tbh - so it will be a tall order.
It won't.
@EquuleusPictor It received a ten minute standing ovation. Relatively few critics were there.
Driver looks like he is playing a character in an SNL skit
He’s got everybody in this. Laurence Fishburne, Michelle Pfeiffer, Shia LaBeouf, Jessica Lange, Dustin Hoffman, Jude Law, Cate Blanchett, James Caan. A massive talented list.
Yeah we saw that at the end thank you though.
@@AndyCR75 lol
How did you miss Adam Driver in your list?
James caan is dead
@@thelastknight1276 Filmed before he died.
As an architecture student who loves both dystopian and utopian takes on society, i am so excited!
Movie buffs are going to eat good
This thing looks absolutely GORGEOUS
He’s packing that all in at TWO hours. Not three or three-and-half. That’s a great sign.
This is the first time I had to watch a movie trailer three times just to understand it. First, I was overwhelmed by the visuals, my eyes were drinking them in to the point that I could not hear the dialogue. The second time, I paid attention to the verbal, and my ears overcame my eyes, all I could focus on were the words. And, finally, it all came together. This is a very unique vision. Looking forward to seeing more.
Can you explain a bit more about what happened in the trailer ??
@@RAJIVKUMAR-ge4hmno bc he still doesn’t understand it
This trailer was absolutely nonsensical.
Nice. Said a lot of nothing lol. Didn’t explain what you learned

FRANCIS COPOLLA IS A SCREEN'S GOD....HE IS SIMPLY THE BEST!!!!ONLY ONE MOVIES' DIRECTOR STAR IN THIS FRAGILE WORLD.....❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
❤ 🙏 ❤
0:39 I hope that building was insured.
Looks like it will be a heck of a visual experience.
Either going to be an absolute classic or a horrible misfire. Hoping for the former though we'll see
It's already a classic
it doesn't matter..watching the movie to see what he's cooking will be enough..more people need to realize the curiosity & figuring out what he's trying to communicate is what matters most
@@jacopom.7477are you actually stupid ?
@@fruitsy_Figuring out what he’s trying to communicate doesn’t matter as much as the execution of how he communicates it. That hinges on whether the film is an act of passion or vanity.
My guess is it'll be a sleeper classic that will be slaughtered by clueless critics and beloved after the fact as people discover it. A bit like Cloud Atlas.
I wonder if I can meet Francis Ford Coppola and have my autograph signatured on my VHS copy of the outsiders
Hasn’t FFC been wanting to make this for a long time? Can’t wait
Yes. Coppola was talking about this film back in the eighties. Megalopolis was nearly made over twenty years ago but unfortunately, 9/11 occured. Naturally, no studio would back a film featuring massive urban destruction. Now, crossing my fingers, this will be well worth the wait.
I still watch apocalypse now to this day. Anything this man makes... i will watch.
I still haven't watched Apocalypse Now to this day :) Which version should I watch first?
@@vanylaskywalker Redux. But i dont think any of the streaming providers have that version, because they think its too long. So you'll have to buy the DVD. But trust me, this movie will change the way you think about life. Its actually based on the story of joseph conrad, 'heart of darkness' his trip in afrika in 1800 something i believe. And all the dark things he encouterd there.
If youre a movie lover,... you will see cinema and life different after this movie.
@@PB-hw7ef Agree Redux would be best. It has 2 scenes not in the original movie screening. The shorter version has better pacing but if you want the full picture Redux is a great bet. They also touched up the film and redid the coloring so that's a plus.
Wow. Looks great. Had no idea what to expect, but looks like Coppola is firing on all cylinders. Excited now.
This looks amazing even though the trailer is vague. The best kinds of trailers
Fritz Lang: "Okay, you can copy my homework, but don't make it too obvious." Lol
☝️🤓
@@Llinken👇 🤓
If this can make Fritz Land be reborn in pop culture, I'll take it.
i even felt like there were some Terry Gilliam vibes in there.
@@thelastdisciple Yep in a way but Gilliam is a huge Fellini fan and Coppola was (still is) a huge Fellini before him so.... ;)
Wow this movie looks INSANE. I love it.
If you have never gone to see the same movie twice, I get the feeling that this is going to be one of those movies that you'll get more out of each time you see it.
Esperando a verla....🎉
THIS LOOOKS GREATTTT YESSSSAAAA
Alright, i'm hooked, this looks very interesting.
Cant wait to watch finally a movie worth watching so sick of those horrible commercial movies that are all the same. Thank you Francis Ford Coppola
All we need is a release date 👏🏽 c’mon hopefully this summer 🤞🏽
Yes please
Really excited!
As a cinema lover, I never imagined that in my lifetime, I would have an opportunity to experience a FFC movie in a theatre!!
This experience is going to be a core memory ❤
Same here my mo and I watched the godfather a last month on tu big screen
@@freedom_rock18 that's cool. But it was a re release though!!
This is like his fresh project which is like crazy to think about !
@@siddharthiyer2177 couldn’t agree more
As someone who saw Apocalypse Now, I can say you're absolutely correct. No matter what critics say, this will stay with you for a long time
@@tishgrierthat’s a movie they need to bring back to theaters
Wow.. 😮❤
Count me innnnnn!!!!!❤
It's like the comic strip La fièvre d'Urbicande(1985), a classic that was made when the author visited Brasilia. The premise is very similar: an architect against politicians and discussions about urban society. Funny how both authors visited Brazil for this, as Copolla visited Curitiba.
Haven’t been to the theater in years but will definitely be there for this one, saw Apocalypse and Rumble Fish in the theaters, never disappointed in his films, always alot to talk about
Really looking forward to this
Looks like a vibe. If it’s ever in my contry I’ll try see it

WOW, so many great actors i know it will be a fire movie🔥

We must support independent cinema like this to stick it to Hollywood!
Billie, I had to fade away to megalopolis just to be "The Greatest"
ABSOLUTE CINEMA
Release this in theatres
Wow!!!!
After watching the press conference I so stoked for this film especially because what’s it’s about and how it’s relevant to todays world. Also because this has been a project that’s been around and in the process since I was a kid
Lawrence Fishburne’s narration giving me Matrix-ey vibes. Was that Grace Vanderwaal at 45 seconds in the trailer?
Yup
Yes, that's our beloved Grace.
I admire Coppola's commitment to make this movie.
Equilibrium + Adjustment Bureau = Megalopolis 🤙
With a Touch of Cloud Atlas and Hunger Games.
I’m just glad Shia may be un cancelled he needs to be in film!!!
Definitely gonna see this one!!!
Can't hardly wait

Interesting they’re both nearly 100 years apart 🤔
This looks behind its time.
@@zavex4228 I really hope it's good but not gonna lie, the sound mix is way off! Watched the trailer three times and I'm still not sure what is being said
That could be a good thing @@zavex4228
Metropolis was at or behind its time and lacked imagination and showed no understanding of the future impact of industrialism 100 years later.
At the end I thought the MGM logo would show :) The trailer is very good. I hope that the film will be a success despite the critics' complaints.
Looking forward to what the master has to show us. ❤
Now that's a trailer. Oh boy my mouth is watering.😮

Parts of this keep making me think of NK Jemison the city we became. Which FYI is an excellent read.

Cant wait to see this. Been a long time since I've felt like that about a movie.
Already roped in with Adam Driver.
Roped in... as in your neck?
A thrilling trailer which bodes well aided by a great cast and intriguing premise.
The master is back ❤ Looking good
I’m so in..this look like a masterpiece of cinematography..I’d definitely go see this on acid
Yikes, honestly this looks wild so I might enjoy it but could end up being a bad or divisive film. Eitherway, will bomb hard at the box-office but don't think Francis cares. He's in his 80's and its his dream project. Might as well go out with a bang. A literal bang.
Worst case scenario it bombs but gains a cult following. At this stage I think Coppola would be fine with that.
the only things in this world worth a damn are things people devoted their entire lives to
I have no idea what the film is about, but it looks intriguing.
i'm seated
¡¡40 Yers!!
Flabbergasted. Can't wait for it!
Looking forward to this movie
AUBREY PLAZA IS IN THIS?!?! WOAAAH YESSSSSS IM SO HAPPY FOR HER
Get ready!
With the cast Coppola has put together, I can't see how this could fail. Then again, I admit I'm a 70-year-old cinema dilettante. I've seen a lot of films. These actors are at the top of their field and in a class all their own. I'd pay for a full price ticket for a 30 minute film of Laurence Fishburne blowing his nose. I have no doubt it would be epic.
Interesting to see Chloe Fineman there. Definitely wasn't expecting that.
You’re 70 years old commenting on you tube videos and using the word “epic?”
This trailer is amazing. High expectations. Great cast.
Jon voight and Dustin hoffman support this film too, wow! Supporting actor race will be very crowded this year!
No, early screening say Shia is the best thing about the film.
Looks great! And like all Coppola's great movies, it was supposedly chaos in the making.
I'd probably go to the theatre to watch this.
You had me from the very first shot
