I think that “When Emma Falls in Love” is a reference to Jane Austen’s “Emma” and kind of takes on the subject of when the matchmaker who’s always invested in the love lives of others actually falls in love herself. We know miss swift loves a literary reference.

@@theswiftologistidk I think Taylor has always been inclined to reference old literature and in her older albums she didn’t have much of an opportunity to reference the more niché ones? (Jane austen is not niché at all but not necessarily relatable to her main demographic during her speak now era) so theres a good chance that “when emma falls in love” is about the novel and her label just stopped her from releasing it.
Mine with her improved vocal capabilities will SLAP. We truly aren’t ready, the girlies who get it get it 😭✋🏽

I am a recent swiftie (only really dug deep into her discography after folkevermore), but Back to December is very close to being my favorite song of hers. The chorus has such a unique and beautiful melody and the lyrics feel incredibly vulnerable. Can't believe she wrote Speak Now in general so relatively early in her career. Hope she delivers with this rerecording!

@@m.b.9916 paramore is a band. The feature on speak now taylor’s version is Hayley Williams, who is the lead singer, which means the drummer and guitarist aren’t going to be featured. Hayley’s solo work has a different feel than paramore’s music, and that will probably reflect in the song.

To me it's weird that Speak Now gets somewhat “discarded” I guess, because yeah like neither Mean, Mine, or Back to December where the same commercial succeses of You Belong with Me and Love Story for example, but Speak Now got its fair share of awards, and it's tour was very high grossing. And I feel like it catapulted Red, because with SN people got this very intimate sense of Taylor writing about very public experiences and I feel like it helped with the anticipation of Red because people expected her songs would speak about another failed relation or public moment. And even thoufh IKYWT and WANEGBT are outright hits, the discourse about who they are about gave her a lot of exposure. I also remember Dear John and Back to December and Mean just being this canon events in Swifties lifes haha

Speak now was my first TS album! I had known of TS because of Love Story appearing on MTV repeatedly and then seeing her in the Hannah Montana Movie with crazier, so Speak Now was the first release that I witnessed. I was also so broke back then that I had to wait for people to share it on the internet lmao. It will always hold a special place in my heart.

Sparks Fly is my second-favourite Taylor Swift song of all times and used to be my favourite until Cornelia Street came along 😅. I really hope Sparks Fly (TV) gets the attention it deserves. Speak Now has always been my favourite album and probably will be for the rest of my life. How can people forget so easily about it? It had such a big impact on me when it came out in 2010 🥺
I will definitely miss Battle. I think the song had potential and it felt like a sister song to The Story of Us. I wish we could get a well-produced version of it. Still, I am looking forward to the vault tracks.

I think the fact that we only had Dear John about the specific situation with John - as oppose to 1989 and Red treatment where there are many, many songs about Jake or Harry that are ultimately all about the same thing in different wording and framing - was so powerful. She took those 6 minutes and said everything that needed to be said. So, despite me knowing that I'd eat up any content in that direction (because I relate to the topic so much) I think putting out a Vault Track about it would kind of take away from Dear John.

I think I was 13 when it was released and I embedded every song into my life, I even remember all her mash-ups and covers during the tour which I watched online as an int swiftie :( but can't wait for this album, truly feels like reliving an experience I didn't know was possible. (like when you watch you fav movie and wish you could experience it again for the first time)

Snippets of Mine and Back To December sound really good and promising. I think she took our criticism about certain songs to her heart and actually worked her ass off this time so everything will sound good as it should.
I'm not very worried about most of the songs, i think it'll be same as Fearless: most songs will sound more or less the same and some will be much better than originals. I am worried only about few and those are Haunted, Long Live and Better Than Revenge. With Haunted there are only 2 options: it will be absolute slay and or i will cry and scream because of how horrible it is. There is no other option, it will be either a slay or absolute flop. Kinda same with Better Than Revenge, even though i don't think there's a chance to destroy is so drastically as Haunted, the problem will be the energy, it may end up as I Knew You Were Trouble where all juice is missing, there's no energy and it will feel lifeless and lazy. What worries me more is possible lyric change, but the closer we're getting to release i think she'll leave it alone and just make a joke on a concert or social medias how since then she had a feminism awakening. It wasn't a single so i don't think people will pay much attention to it. And Long Live can also end up as no juice boring shadow of original song. It really captures very certain moment in her life and i'm not sure she can really recreate it, but i have hope. Innocent might get little messed up. but i don't care much about this song so it's ok. I think Superman might become the Girl At Home of this album and Taylor will go further with EDM sound on this one. IDK it might improve it but i don't have much hopes. I love Girl At Home TV, but i just don't see a way how to improve Superman, it's just not good.
About vault tracks, we have quite same ranking: 1. Castles Crumbling, 2. Timeless, 3. Electric Touch, 4. Foolish One, 5. When Emma Falls In Love, 6. I Can See You.
There are some leaked descriptions of them. I don't know how trust worthy they are, but if they are true then the songs will ate. As of right now i'm sure Castles Crumbling will be slay. I'm very interested in Timeless because there are really a lot directions it can go and also it's been haunting this fandom for too long now, it's time to unveil this mystery. I hope Electric Touch is darker, edgier and sexier sister of Sparks Fly. We saw Taylor and Fall Out Boy perform before and they have good chemistry together so i think it's good. Foolish One i think is about Taylor, i think she'll be talking about her blind romanticizing nature. I think there is a chance we'll get more Taylor Lautner juice on this, so fingers crossed. When Emma Falls In Love will be just a cute song, i don't have high expectations about this one, just a cute song, nothing less nothing more. I don't get any vibes from I Can See You, i have no idea where this could go, right now i think it'll be a filler, but who knows maybe it is the Question...? of this album and it will ate.

speak now is truly a ''iykyk'' album, i've been a fan of tay's since fearless and when speak now came out, it was instantly my favorite album of hers and still is to this day. the concept, the stories, the musicality, even the freakin' wonderstruck perfumes, it was all just so perfect. i still don't get how people don't get speak now era, it's kind of a you had to be there album i guess?

Hayley did background vocals for bad blood. You can definitely hear her saying “bad blood” towards the end and in the music video they even show her mouthing her part. I immediately recognized her voice and it sounded pretty smooth i would say, especially because i think they both have really good lower registers so they might lean into that and then Hayley will probably do the high note belting if there is any

Soo excited. Also based of the time of each track in the iTunes store every vault is over 4 mins long, with three being over 5 mins long. (Also Better Than Revenge and Haunted are 3 seconds longer which is just something I find pretty interesting.)
Mine has always been a favorite song of mine when it came out back in elementary school before i had enough self assurance to allow myself to like things even if none of my friends did. Taylor Swift was a 'guilty pleasure' of mine that i never really allowed myself to really get into (the internalized misogyny combined with people pleasing was not a good mix) so i'm thankful the pandemic allowed me the time to actually dig deeper into her discography and give it a fairer chance than i ever did before

im not finished w the video but i want to just solidify my prediction- the strongest feeling ive had with these vault tracks is that “when emma falls in love” IS gonna be about emma woodhouse. ive thought it since i saw the track name and i stand by it. i just think that there are a lot of parallels and metaphors that could be drawn between emma and taylor… it seems like a very speak now concept imo.
I'm honestly the biggest better than revenge stan ever and i think it'll go one of two ways, either it'll go hard af, or she'll change it and mess it up. Praying for the first option. Can't wait for speak now tv!!!
Speak Now is my fave of Taylor's earlier albums I love the album tracks on it more than Fearless! Also I love that Hayley Williams is on the song called Castles Crumbling cause Paramore has a song called Brick by Boring Brick and in the MV there's a little girl who goes to a castle and the lyrics mention castles, "So get your shovel and we'll dig a deep hole to bury the castle." I would love a MV for Haunted it could be a really dark and gothic video. I imagine Taylor wearing a black dress being in a gothic castle with candles. Some of the scenes would be her walking through the halls, sat at a banquet table, crying at the bottom of a staircase in tje castle, singing in a tower while looking out the window staring at the moon. Like I can envisage it in my head.
I wonder when she'll announce the signed CDs for Speak Now (Taylor's Version). We only have 5 more days.
Am I the only one most excited about “Last Kiss”?!? It was my absolute favorite on Speak Now. Maybe because I was experiencing my first heart break right when Speak Now was released but I still love it so much.
