Hey guys and gals. I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for putting together these videos. For those of us out there that depend on a pay check and a weekend to get our rides back on the road, it is really cool having 1AAuto in my corner when I am getting ready to grease up. I was originally looking to find a way to inspect for frame damage due to collision, but I then continued to watch since I didn't really think age or wear could potentially cause a safety issue when jacking up a vehicle. Duh I guess, but knowing is half the the battle. Thanks again for everything and I look forward to more videos.

Cosmoline (CRC heavy duty, Amsoil heavy duty, Crown 101 etc) over rust and lanolin (fluid film etc) in cavities. I'm experimenting over 10 years. Cosmoline stop rust. But if you spray cosmoline at top of paint it will just fall out when paint fall.

@@chrisursogmail clean your undercarriage regularly, if you dont wash it, then the salt sticks to ur frame and rots it fast. ensure the frame and undercarriage is painted with undercarriage paint. then apply wd40 on it all, wd40 acts as a protective layer for the paint so it doesnt get chipped as easily and expose bare metal to the elements. check the paint and everything in undercarriage every 4 months

I'm feeling a bit sick. I bought a used truck from the most 'trusted' dealer in our area of Arkansas. They told me this was a 1 owner, local truck owned by an older farmer. 2005 Gmc Sierra 4- wheel drive. I figured I was golden since we use no salt in winter on our roads. 4 years later this truck is rusting to the ground. WTF.

Hey Chris, if you’re moving from Florida to Ohio that’s a common problem up here, I’ve had frames rust out on my cars like that, and the big thing up here is brake lines and gas lines and also gas tanks and straps, almost all of it is due to the brine they put on roads which is basically salt water, imagine driving thru that daily, like driving into the ocean,

Depends. If you don't treat your truck it'll rot away much faster. I was shopping around and saw a 2013 f350 that was rotting away. If you fluid film or use a similar treatment once a year your truck or car should last a very long time
