I was getting into an elevator with two defensive players for the Philadelphia Eagles, and i was literally stunned at how huge they were. They were also very gentlemanly and seemed like really nice guys. Someone else suggested the video of the NFLs freaks of nature and i do, too. Now, they are in an entirely different size class.
I directed a photo shoot with Donavan McNabb and Tom Brady back in the day and McNabb had the thickest legs I have ever seen on a human. They were like tree trunks.
I had the same experience just seeing a bunch of college linemen at a practice. We're accustomed to seeing tall people OR big people. Seeing big AND tall guys who are muscular rather than fat (at least 6-foot-four and 300 pounds) gets your attention.
Yes I was coming to recommend that one too and they need to look up conversions from standard to metric. So they can understand that 6’4 224lbs is 193cm 102kgs
As a guy who ran special teams in college the whole philosophy is kill or be killed and sometimes you are delivering punishment and sometimes you are absorbing devastating hits. So many concussions and injuries to even count. Now in my 50s I feel all of it every day but wouldn't trade the experience.
I'm only 28 but played 10 years of contact as a lineman and special teams my shoulders and knees get that occasional few minutes of pain out of nowhere but like you its almost a reminder of the good times I had in the trenches.
If y’all wanted to see a NFL game, theres a few teams that play in the UK this year. Two games in Tottenham, and one at Wembley. The teams playing are the Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, Chicago Bears, and New York Jets.
I love your raw immediate and genuine response to your reactions. By the way, you guys seem to be a perfect match for each other. I get a kick out of watching you two.
as we know our football is a collision sport. They have tried to get the helmet to helmet collisions out but it is still violent at it's core. The size and speed and athletic ability of guys at the NFL level is amazing.
@thomashansen440 hahahaha!🤣 exactly! She hits so hard, her opponents only have time to know her by one name, "FATS" hahaha FATS got sumptin fo-ya boy!!!😂
It takes a certain type of person to play football, especially professional. Not only do you have to be as elite of an athlete as there is in the world, you have to be 100% fearless and as coaches and players say, willing to stick your face in the fan meaning willing to harm yourself to make a play. There are more injuries in football than any other sport. Average NFL career is just over 3 years mostly due to injuries, especially knees. They are well compensated but most have physical issues the rest of their lives. In person the speed it all happens is insane. The sounds of helmets and pads colliding is incredible. Most humans flat out wouldn't make it through 1 game. When players get hurt at practice the coaches literally move the ball away from the man on the ground and continue practice. It's an incredibly cold business too. They will cut guys so fast that teammates don't even get to say goodbye, they just don't see him anymore. It is, in my opinion, the greatest sport on earth!
It is a important lesson for the young kids to learn. It's not about how hard the hit was that put you down. It's about getting back up and what you do from there.
American football is started at a young age, just like baseball, basketball and rodeo. Kids grow up tough and it makes them prepared for military service. If you ever wondered why the French have the saying, "When the fighting starts, pray you have an American soldier with your unit." The aggressive warlike nature stems from our early exposure to dangerous sports and our diets. Many of the football players are massive men. I would guess that the lightest player would be around 220 pounds of pure muscle, but a lot of them are 260 to 280 pounds. I'm a big man myself, (6'1" at 260 pounds) but when I'm out walking the track around the football field and the team is out running scrimmages, I feel small around them. So, these hits they give and take are seriously hard and dangerous. I had a friend who played and he said the only reason he played was to injure people.
You should definitely check out Kam Chancellor, nicknamed Bam Bam Kam. He used to hit so hard that he suffered a neck injury, which caused him to retire.
The hit at 2:34/5:45 ended his career and the kid at 2:42 who you said “he’s massive” at the time of that game he was 13 yrs. old. That was Jr. high school football.
It’s amazing to see how many people just assume that all these guys get desperately hurt doing this. Especially considering just about all of these hits the person got up and played the next down. There are injuries, but not all the time and definitely not every hit or even every game.
It's even better when you can hear the hits. Check out mic'd up videos. When you play football you get your chance to hit somebody you have to know you will be on the receiving end sooner or later.
Rugby is a contact sport, American football is a collision sport. Seriously there's a good reason they wear all that protective gear. There was an NFL player who became paralyzed after having his back broken
When a tackle is being made, they want to stop the ball carrier AND try to knock the ball loose. That's why tackling can be so violent. A blindside block is when a player doesn't see it coming. As long as the blocker is in front of the other player, and doesn't hit him below the waist, or in the head and neck area, it is a legal block.
If you like big hits check out Brian Dawkins, Troy Polamalu, Ray Lewis and Kam Chancellor. Some of the biggest hitters to play the game. Love the videos!! Keep em coming!!
Yeah this is the video I was waiting for😂 love soccer but when they flail and go down we laugh... in football if u don't get up right away it only encourages the opposing team to hit harder...
The slams depend on what year it happened. They're mostly illegal now, and will get a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty, but not always. You can't pick a guy up and slam him into the ground anymore, but that wasn't always the case. However, if a runner tries to hurdle then it's a little bit different story. If y'all liked the video, the same guy did one with the best hurdles in American football and shows a little bit more of the graceful side of football. Might be interesting to see your reaction to that, the runners avoiding the big hits.
Helmet to Helmet is illegal now. You can be tossed from a game if it's determined it was on purpose. Through instant replay they can tell if it was on purpose or incidental which is still a personal foul of 15 yards and a first down.
Those weren't just NFL shots as you could see some kids were playing. Some of them were from high schools and college games. We start them young in Pee Wee Football.
Keep in mind...a good chunk of these hit clips weren't NFL - They were college (age 18-21) and some high school (age 14-18). So these were kids/young adults in some cases 😂 And yep my son started football at age 6. Took last year off because he was in all honors classes & wanted to see how it'd be, going back this year. He's my baby--at 6'1" and still growing 😂
Bruh the pads are made of a small amount of shock absorbing foam covered in plastic, combined thats maybe a few inches thick at best. That ain’t gonna do much do absorb the blow. It certainly helps a little but you still feel the majority of that force
@@JB09712 Totally agree and played in the early 80's. The shoulder pads and helmet are basically all you have with some slight foam for the waist and knees, which pretty much do nothing. Getting hit at speed hurts and you feel it 2 days later.
Those pads really only help with certain shoulder/collar injuries and help when you land on the ground. They don’t help much and do nothing to help from getting a concussion. They’re trying to get helmets to help with that but without having the helmet break after every hit, they just won’t stop concussion on these kind of hits. They just make sure you don’t get you skull fractured as badly as it could
they should add NFL contact rules to soccer (European football). Then it would be fun to play. When I lived in Spain I played soccer but got kicked out of games for blocking
Not only NFL clips in this theirs College and a few highschool clips in this. Alot of hits in this video would be an foul to instant ejection from the game now. Go DAWGS
Most of these hits are illegal now but those guys on average rep 225 pounds around 25-30 times. They say getting hit full speed by a linebacker is like being in a 35mph car crash.
Fats is a girl after my own mind. I love a little smack talking after a big hit.Truth be told a like smack talking before, during and after the game! 😂 It’s actually illegal in college and NFL football to “taunt.” As a woman who has been watching both college and NFL for 55 years, It sucks a lot of fun out of the game.
Just keep in mind the AVERAGE player height and weight is 6'2 245 lbs (188 cm and 112 kg) and the AVERAGE 40 yard dash time is 4.48 seconds, so the newtons of force applied by a single average player is 1740.48N, experiencing nearly the same G force astronauts experience during a space shuttle flight per 2 player large collisions. Football isn't a contact sport. It's a collision sport. Also, coming from someone who played football from Pop warner to D1 and the in the CFL, so from age 5 to age 28. Yeah, some of those hits hurt, but for most of them, you bounce up because of adrenaline and dont really feel them until later.
If you didn't see a yellow flag thrown by the officials the hit was probably legal at the time it occured. There used to be deaths in football, but in the early 1900s they made some rule changes to make the game less dangerous. 3:13 is illegal. You can't hit a defenseless player in the head and neck, 15 yard penalty in the NFL. In College Football it's called Targeting, and carries both a 15 yard penalty and a mandatory ejection. All targeting penalties must be confirmed by replay. QBs get extra protection when they're in the pocket. It's illegal to hit a QB in the head, neck, or knees when he's in the pocket. It's also illegal to bring your full weight down on a QB. It's called Roughing the Passer which is a 15 yard penalty and automatic first down. The QB that got yanked down by his head or neck, I can't tell which for sure, would be roughing the passer today. Players with concussions can be removed from the game. Some players try to hide concussions. The guys that were returning kicks could have avoided being hit. They can wave their hand above their head, which is calling for a fair catch. What happens then, is that the ball is dead as soon as the return man catches it, and the kick coverage team is not allowed to hit him. In High School and NFL football you can take a free kick following a fair catch, but you cannot do that in College Football. Fair catch kicks are very rare.
Injuries? My team the Titans set a NFL record a couple years back for players used in a season due to injuries. NFL rosters are 53 with 46 allowed to suit up for each game. There are 17 games in the regular season for reference. We played 91 diffeent players that year mostly due to injuries. So 39 guys who were not on the team at the start of the season. Another way to look at it is games missed due to injury. We also led in that category with 339. At 339 games missed and 46 allowed to play each game that almost 7 and half games we would have had no players if they all happened at once and we couldn't add new players lol. Everyone is some level of hurt by the end of the season. It's just a matter of what you can play through.
Since you've already watched NHL hardest hits, now might be the time to watch NHL best dekes and dangles, and see what it looks like when they DON'T get smashed :)
AB was a headcase before any of that happened. no one paid attention to it though cause they were winning. no one ever put him in check, and then why they tried, he was too important, too well paid to do so...none of AB's shyte is CTE...it's all him.
a good majority of these hits are illegal because in football there’s a penalty called targeting where you hit someone above the shoulder with the crown (top) of your helmet and if you get a targeting called on you you get ejected from the game
Concussion city. Honestly a lot of players will go into wrestling once their careers end because of their athletic ability. WWE has a lot of them like Roman reigns, the rock, Jim duggan, and a number of others.
I feel like any country that wants to mess with the USA should watch these NFL tackle vids and think about how this is what Americans do to each other for fun, if you mess with the US we will come at you even harder.
Would love to see you react to a video of Julius Peppers or Lawrence Taylor. 2 biggest freaks of nature in the NFL ever. Peppers was 4th all time in quarterback sacks. Would be 3rd if he had 1 more sack. Was short 3rd by a half a sack.
Helmet to helmet hits are illegal now. As long as the defe, sive player uses the shoulder and hits the guy below the neck it's typically a clean hit. Nobody plays football all the way through the professional level without injury. Some worse than others but everyone has injuries of some sort. It's just violent but they know what they are signing up for. League minimum is somewhere around 450K per season with guys making as much as 55 million a year. Season goes from September through February when the Super Bowl takes place.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE react to “Marshawn Lynch unstoppable moments” he an absolute unit of a running back in the NFL, an unstoppable beast one of the best to ever do it IMO🎉🎉🎉❤
Leading with Helmet is Illegal (Neck Injury and or Concussion, Helmet to Helmet Contact (Concussions) is Illegal. Face-Mask (Grabbing and holding onto the front of the helmet connected to severe neck and spine injuries) is Illegal. American Football tackle with full gear on running at top speed is the equivalent of being hit by a car going at least 25 mph. Without all the extra weight and gear on, Football players run much faster and hit much harder. Rugby is the closest thing to American Football that can rival speed and power used in a game. I used to play in high school, I've lost my helmet, my mouthguard and even one of my cleats to a well placed hit. My best friend and neighbor at the time, we played for two different schools and he actually broke 3 of my ribs during a game. It's an absolute blast and head rush to play. My friends and I and some of our team mates get together every weekend for a pick-up game at our old high schools. We're all in our 30's now but we still play Full-Contact without any gear on and just enjoy playing.
A lot of these players develop CTE and can't function after their playing days are over. Watch the movie "Concussion" staring Will Smith and Alec Baldwin. Some of these hits your showing are illegal.
Haha she said she likes when the guy towers over after a big hit. We all love it! But the nfl has since banned that type of behavior calling it taunting. We miss old nfl.

It's just violent but they know what they are signing up for. League minimum is somewhere around 450K per season with guys making as much as 55 million a year. Season goes from September through February when the Super Bowl takes place.
For comparison, the average rugby player is 6'1", 220 pounds. The average NFL player is 6'3", 275 pounds.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE react to “Marshawn Lynch unstoppable moments” he an absolute unit of a running back in the NFL, an unstoppable beast one of the best to ever do it IMO🎉🎉🎉❤
u should check out pee wee ball hard hits
in American football, if you hit someone and it doesnt hurt you, you didnt hit them hard enough
Watch a Derek Henry or cam newton highlights reel to see what kind of freaks we have in American football.
You still haven't watched Barry Sanders 50 greatest runs.
Suplexcity is not a foul😂

Please watch the Will Smith movie "Concussion"
A lot of these players develop CTE and can't function after their playing days are over. Watch the movie "Concussion" staring Will Smith and Alec Baldwin. Some of these hits your showing are illegal.

Haha she said she likes when the guy towers over after a big hit. We all love it! But the nfl has since banned that type of behavior calling it taunting. We miss old nfl.

American football is a collision sport. Like a car crash.
