Congrats Sir. Back in the late 1990s my Wife gifted me a vintage Les Paul Custom. All these years later I still get a huge smile when I open its case to play it, I hope the same holds true for you.
You bought the next Guitar I will add to my collection except I want the white one, I have an R8 I got a year ago that I love,Congrats on the Black Custom it looks and sounds sweet I’ve always loved the pickup choice Gibson made on the Customs
Congratulations on Your Beautiful New Gibson Les Paul Custom_ I got My 1997 Ebony Gibson Les Paul Custom Florentine in 2005 and it's Still My Absolute #1_ My Queen _ So Happy that You Finally Aquired Your Very Own_!! Keep on Rockin Brother_!! 😊
More or less. Still plenty to do, but the new house definitely feels like home now. Just have a guest bedroom, a kitchen store room, and the garage left to set up, but most of that won’t happen until spring time.
Give it another year. That guitar will sound even better. I've had my 17 Traditional since late 2016. If you're like me, you'll never regret buying that guitar. Funny thing is, I wanted mine for 17 years at that time. Congrats man!
My wife gave me a 2008 silverburst custom in 2009. I’ll have until I die. Playability is perfect and it looks amazing. My only issue is the weight. Mine weighs 12 lbs!
Congratulations, probably the best guitar ever made in the history of electrics? Beautiful, beautiful guitar and everything about it is awesome. That’s a true Gibson for you!!!!!!!!
Congrats!! I recently got myself one as well, so I know how you feel. It took me months to decide between the Custom and the R9, glad I followed my heart for my black beauty. However, I have to go through 3 guitars before I settle down with mine, all due to the craftsmanship, tool marks, uneven bindings, paint flaws, dead notes, etc, so I cannot say any good things about Gibson’s QC still 😅
Probably the best looking Les Paul that Gibson ever made... The Custom is worth every bit of it's price tag.. Its one of the most inspiring guitars to own... The only thing I change on these is the frets.. I have stainless steel frets fitted so that I never have to worry about fret dressing or the play dents that quickly appear if you play daily.
Nice that you got yourself the guitar you dreamed of owning. I kind of gave up on the quality and prices of Gibson, Fender and Epiphone, so I bought a nice sexy jet black/gold hardware Guild Polara Kim Thayil Signature guitar and I love it! Got it on sale for $100 off retail too. Ya wouldn't never know how great the Guild guitars are until ya give one a chance and try playing one. A happy and blessed New Year to ya too!
A custom is my dream , I would take the white one !!! Mainly because of Steve jones of sex pistols played one. My best friends bought the custom shop Steve jones led Paul custom white. It’s reliced and has two pin up sticker sealed in the nitro. They made 300 only. And he has number2. Legend says that hat Steve’s has number 1😮. He paid in 2008 10.000$ , it’s worth now 14.000$ plus. That’s my dream guitar hands down. But the custom black is for me the top dog in guitar finish , look and legendary status!! Bravo for your new acquisition 🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥🔥
great looking guitar. i always wanted a Les Paul and ended up buying a couple one standard and one custom. i liked them but they had problems. i ended up buying a John Sykes model ESP Edwards and i absolutely love it. i did an a /b against a friends mid 70's LP Custom and across the board were spot on weight was 9.5 pounds ebony board, but mine doesn't have mother of pearl . which i wish it did. it even has the open book headstock. but needless to say they're not supposed to be sold here in the States.
Check your specs, you should have a 1-piece mahogany neck. The Historic 1954 and 1957 Les Paul Customs utilize a 1-piece solid mahogany body (no separate top glued on, the body is one giant chunk of carved mahogany).
I’m assuming this was recorded before the holidays since it’s in the usual room. Hope your house hunting is going well & looking forward to you returning to weekly content.
Sounding good Rob, its a Beaut, very happy 4 u, nothing like getting your hands on a dream guitar, hope you and your new Git 🎸have a happy New Year, wishing health, luck and happiness, Edda 🌹❤🌹
Its cool to see someone get a guitar they've always wanted. I'm fairly particular about neck carves myself. The normal LP custom carves are nearly unplayable for me. Painfull. Apparently those new Epiphone LP Customs from the Inspired By Gibson Customshop series. Have a more rounded C shape, similar to the '59 Standards. But slim tapered. Haven't tried one yet. But I can tell you. That the Adam Jones sigs from Epiphone. Are like nothing else on the market. By far the fastest playing, most shred friendly carve ever. On ANY, LesPaul I've seen in my 57 years of existence. I highly recommend it for someone with smaller hands that isn't comfortable with most Les Paul necks. The only other carve Gibson or Epiphone currently use that I'd even mess with. Is the most excellent Slim Tapered Asymmetrical that Epiphone uses on Moderns and Prophecy models. My SG Modern had it, and so does my new Olive Tiger Gloss Burst LP Prophecy. Very comfortable and makes you wanna keep playing. Peace!
Just thinking about you a few days ago, Robert. Good to see you again. I've had many US made Les Paul's including a special-order Custom Plus. IMO, I think it's a stretch to say they're perfect. My Les Paul custom was the most disappointing guitar of the bunch. Having said that, I don't buy and play Gibson guitars for their build quality. I prefer to play them for what they are. They are, to me, the greatest guitar brand and guitar available. My latest acquisition was a new 335 figured top. The neck was too chunky and the frets too low. I took it and my "number one" Les Paul to my luthier/guitar tech. He duplicated the Les Paul neck on the 335 along with a re-fret and turned the 335 into an absolutely fabulous instrument, for my style. Gibson electric guitars are second to none and their acoustic guitars are arguably the best production acoustics available.
The price difference is most likely in the black one. Black, for some reason, is always slightly less expensive than other finishes in Gibson Land. They’ve priced their guitars that way for decades.
I owned a Les Paul Studio I got in the early 90s. While it wasn't the best LP, I wish I still had it because it played like butter, and it wasn't too heavy. I changed the pickups many times till I settled on a JB/59 set which worked very well. I never got a Custom or Standard or Deluxe because of the weight issue. I'm terribly prone to backaches. Another Gibson I owned was a mid 80s Explorer. While the stock pickups had great tone, they were very noisy. I was thinking of getting them wax potted but ended up trading the guitar to a friend in exchange for a very nice Yamaha SBG 200 which was more to my liking.
I got two ..am I guilty..hell no !! I love my axes! I will not spend that kind of money on a guitar ever again.....unless I win the big lottery money 😅
@Smart-Alex Dude, I get buyer's remorse with anything over $200. I felt bad last winter after paying a $4K HVAC repair, I had heat in the winter but still a part of me felt bad for spending money, lol.
Dude, I mean no disrespect by this, but Gibson Les Paul Customs (or any other $5000+ guitar) are NOT for people concerned with the price tag. I’m not necessarily one of those people, but I was willing to pay the money because it’s meant that much to me to finally own one of these, and I would have continued to save my money and been willing to pay even more if I’d needed to. Most of my other guitars are not anywhere near this expensive, but my reasons for buying just about all of those were A LOT different than they were for this one.
Congrats Sir.

Glad to see you back.
Great to be back!
The smell when you open the case is the best part of owning a les paul...!!!
Congrats dude
Thanks man!
Glad to see you back Robert, that's kind of funny because yesterday I was searching your channel just to see if you made any new videos.
Good to be back!
happy new year man, hope all worked out with the move. great guitar and shredding!!!
I just got my own white Les Paul Custom in the mail today and it's also on point. Congrats, Mr. Jackson.

Congratulations on the purchase! Definitely a bucket list guitar for a lot of people including myself. Enjoy!
Dude I love that you love it so much and stocked you dropped the cash!
Happy New Year Robert good to see you back
Thanks! It's good to be back!
Good to see you back on the toob! The LP is still as pretty shiny and black as a couple of months ago. 😎👍
This video WAS recorded a couple of months ago. Haven’t been able to edit it and upload it until now. LOL
@@RobertWJackson Ah ok 🤣
But are you getting settled again? How is life?
More or less. Still plenty to do, but the new house definitely feels like home now. Just have a guest bedroom, a kitchen store room, and the garage left to set up, but most of that won’t happen until spring time.
A great guitar goes to the heart and money doesn’t matter and opinions don’t matter. It how the guitar makes you feel sometimes.

Note to note separation, clarity, wood type, processing and treatment and overall versatility is what this guitar is all about.

Thanks, man! I'm gonna try.

Thanks, I’m still in awe of it.

I have the same guitar. Very expensive, but top of the line. It's in the same class as my white falcon, and my 56 gold top.
Nice groovin intro track🤘
LP Custom always been the classiest axe out there, congratulations.
Thanks, I agree.

I've been thinking about trying a Guild for a while now, specifically the import T-Bird model that is out nowadays.
Been wondering what happened to you. Glad you're back
Only live once and if you can afford it buy it and have fun.
Nice tone on those chops you played!! Nice and toasty!
Thanks!
Nice! I got one just like that in 2001! I’d buy another one now if I really needed to.
I bet it sounds amazing, especially after 20 years!

I generally hate Gibson as a company, but I like that guitar! 😎

Congrats yo you Robert, personally I think I'd just get myself a couple more high end Schecters.
why is there a price difference in the white?
The price difference is most likely in the black one. Black, for some reason, is always slightly less expensive than other finishes in Gibson Land. They’ve priced their guitars that way for decades.
Cool guitar !
Happy New Year, Robert. great looker, nice investment. did it take you 25 years to save up for that thing?
Yes and yes
Bought one in 1980 that was exactly like that one… $800… got $400 trade in value three years later on a Charvel Star ..

Early 90’s Les Paul Studios are awesome. I’d love to have one.
Congrats, dude. That's a lifetime guitar.
It was definitely worth the wait, and it’s a damn good guitar!
With that much signal processing, you can make any guitar sound almost the same
You are correct, but this is just for the demo.
happy new year. where you been man? you still at same job?
Bought a new house and moved, among other things.
I had a 1990 years ago.
this to me defines gibson more than the gold guitars. im glad you're back, youtube's getting kinda boring lately.
Thanks for checking back in!
Been awhile sir..
Nothing sounds like a Gibson Less Paul Custom.
Except maybe a Les Paul. There’s nothing “less” about these guitars.
I got two ..am I guilty..hell no !! I love my axes! I will not spend that kind of money on a guitar ever again.....unless I win the big lottery money 😅
Nice.
Thanks!
maple neck?i don't think so..all had mahogany neck and a maple cap
Whoops.
Judging from the guitar i take it you found employment!
Meh. If you wanna call it that. LOL
I'd feel guilty to spend that much on a guitar personally
@@Smart-Alex i woulda bought vintage w that price.

Just kidding, nice axe!
Congrats but tune the guitar man 👍🏽
They are definitely almost on par with Zager in terms of quality USA made craftsmanship.

@@RobertWJackson you gave me a heart and then took it away. Clearly my joke wasn’t funny.
Aren’t you supposed to play Jacksons, jk, 😂!

Proper Guitar. Can't go wrong with a LP Custom...
Nothing is worth that pricetag
You think this guitar is marketed towards people who care about price tags?
