Hot Ones has come a long way. Honored to have the great Viola Davis on the show!
First
Long live Hot Ones: The greatest show since the 1972-2007 version of The Price is Right 🔥
She's a brilliant actor.
I swear, she's making my mouth water for some wings right now, at 8:15 in the morning! 😆
She’s one of the greats ❤
kudos to your editors.. the little animations and the music is on point!
She goes from humor to wisdom so quick
She really has an old soul. She really is like the black aunties haha
And from wisdom to pain 😂

Holy mackerel! I enjoyed this. Viola Davis is awesome 🤩
She’s literally the only person I’ve seen on this show just consistently eating her wings like a normal human being. Im in love, finally someone on here who eats actually.

This woman makes me want to cry from joy. She is so genuine. So intelligent. So wise. I dream of being mentored by her. What an angel.
I like how after a few wings, people tend to forget they’ve just met Sean for the first time and treat him like an old friend.
Shared pain will do that to ya 😂
It's called trauma bonding.

So, it's confirmed, Viola Davis can burp, eat with her mouth open, and snot cry as much as possible and STILL be the LITERAL personification of grace, class, and wisdom. Like, I want her to win an Oscar for just being an amazing human being. Love her.

I love her and this comment ❤️

Hearing that she did all her stunts all herself and she's in her 50's?! Wow .. She has me thinking maybe getting older isn't so bad. She's completely flawless and in that movie she's like straight up BUFF. I was in Awe of her and all the other women on that set. It was phenomenal. I'm over here Saying that chant in the movie lol.
Viola embodies everything a true icon should be. Class, honesty, conpassion, empathy, and just willing to share her experiences. Brilliant
She's so interesting and funny too, she's had such an interesting life and she's a great storyteller!
I love how Viola is not ashamed to be human and is real in this episode. I love her.
Yeah reptilians should always be human

Viola: “Did I ever tell you I had a really bad panic attack?” …Like they’ve been friends for years 😂
I loved how she did that a couple of times. Must have made him feel pretty special, I would feel that way lol
Sean has the best job. Crazy good research for the questions, crazy good reaction to the interviewees, and the most amazing people sitting across from him every episode. To land Viola Davis in anything is just amazing, but to get her off guard and show she's an even more fantastic human being than I though... yeah, perfection.

I love how she was truly enjoying her wings like she was at home chilling. Viola is such a real one, and a towering talent!
Such a real one!
Absolutely 😊
I love that she came to share a meal and chat instead of making it about ONLY the wings. She actually ate the wings and poured her heart out. Watching her felt like home here and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Idk who comes up with the questions, but Sean really does his homework! So when he is asking, I always get the genuine feeling of his wanting to know the answer. And you can see it in the reactions of the guests, how they answer, and he just gets the most honest things back. He is pretty gifted!❤
Yes! The premise of Hot Ones is interesting and fun, but is Sean who makes it great with insightful questions, i'm glad she praised it.
I like how the question comes no matter how much agony his guest is experiencing.
@zombiemistress52 I love your comment. I've seen clips of this show, but I never watched it. However, I came here because of Viola. So, while I love Viola, I think the interviewer is amazing. He speaks clearly. There is no mumbling and no hums and haa. I need to learn to speak like him.

Ok!
Isn't it so great to see a person enjoy their food? I'm sorry to say it, but as a woman seeing a woman eat, this just is so good.
@9:43 👩🏾🍳🤌🏾💋
Viola can EAT!!
She is literally so phenomenal, like I can’t…. I also get so frustrated when people call her the ‘black Meryl Streep.’ She is her own person, and this is coming from someone who is a Meryl Streep Stan of note. Viola Davis is by far one of the best actresses ever, and to compare her to another equally gifted actress is so enraging because you will never hear anyone say that Meryl Streep is the white viola Davis. She is just such a thrill to watch!!!!!
While i don’t in anyway disagree with you, just to add context, I’m gonna assume 50% of it is because Meryl Streep has been a household name longer. I think we both can determine where the other 50% comes from, unfortunately.
@@Levi_Parish we all know this context very well, not very necessary imo
I'm going to 100% agree! I hate when people say that. Like, why can't we just say someone is magnificent! Why mention another person?

Too bad she likes to rewrite history
Also she has such a commanding voice.

I thank you so much Viola for this beautiful interview and the light you shine into the world! You are a real life super hero. IT IS LIFE CHANGING AND SAVING! You are such a hero thank you for everything.
Wow her voice range is amazing, so full, she can project any emotion she wants and really tell a story with vocal tones alone.
As a 40 year old man, I have heard a lot of "chase your dream" speeches in my life, and they have hit me with varying levels of inspiration. Viola's has me suiting up in armor and getting ready to chase my dreams and slay dragons despite being a middle-aged knight. That would have been an incredible speech even without thousands of scovilles lighting her up.
Love this comment!
Yes sir!!! Great comment!
You are not middle aged. You are still young, wild and free to slay those dragons!
All the very best - you can do this
Such a good ending speech!

I love her and her acting. Watching this made me love and respect her even more!!! So real, down to earth and funny!!! She enjoyed those wings!!!
Sean has the ability to make his guests feel like they've known him for years. It's something that many interviewers don't have. Big ups to him🙌
His questions are impeccable ✨
It's kind of hypnotic to be asked questions about yourself. Especially very deep questions asking you about your life philosphy.
"there's a voice deep within you that tells you exactly who you are, you just have to have the courage to do that" i love this
Viola is EVERYTHING. Her class, but also the way she gets down, and she’s humble, yet you can tell her experience and hustle. Gotta love her!
I just love how Sean attentively and genuinely listens to Ms Davis almost as if he’s in Awe of her and that was really cool to see 🙏🏽🥰
THIS WOMAN IS EVERYTHING! Also loved how she kept asking "did I ever tell you?" hahaha like they probably just met but she was talking as if they had brunch at least twice a month together haha
Thank you Sean for asking her questions about her CRAFT. She’s a master of acting and you definitely dived into her expertise, something I’m sure she was grateful for.
She definitely was I'm sure, and Sean is well researched. So I'm sure he's aware of what I'm aware of. Her greatest wish in interviews is for someone to ask her how she ticks as an actor. Because she never gets those questions.
Thank you for not testing her knowledge of history.
When she asked him if he is an actor I think it was partially because he was asking questions only an actor would ask. Which is something I love about this show.
What kind of idiot thanks am interviewer for asking acting questions to an actress? Do you thank your chef for cooling using edible ingredients?

Wow, I am blown away. This just instantly became one of my favorite Hot Ones interviews of all time (right up there with Paul Rudd). Viola's answers are so fluid, she answers Sean's questions so naturally and so casually, but without being cavalier. I was glued to my screen the whole time because her answers were just so genuine, and genuinely interesting. I thought I was a good communicator, but I just witnessed what real communication looks like. She offers so many important details in each of her responses and she does it just so effortlessly, it was immensely satisfying to watch. And her answer for Sean's last question was just so amazing and perfect. I loved hearing her thoughts and opinions on the entertainment industry, and also how things operate behind the scenes. But most importantly I really feel like I truly learned something from her last answer. I'm going to have to remind myself to periodically check back at 22:13, especially when life gets heavy, to remind myself about the journey.
