We have a collection of trains, station, houses, etc. but no place to set them up. We had a great setup when we lived in North Carolina, but no room here in Fla. They are boxed up in the closet. We enjoyed watching this very much. Thanks for sharing, have a great week. (Like 17 ) 👍💯

I was able to visit this in 1996. It was amazing then and still looks great. As a model railroader, I can really appreciate all the planning and work that went, and still goes into this. All that is missing is representation of S/gauge/scale, which is the best of them all. It's not too big and not too small.
We were just in San Diego and ran out of time (and energy!) on our one day in Balboa Park so we missed this. Thank you for sharing it so we could see it! They've done an amazing job. I love that the individual clubs have to take care of their own areas. So much information, this guy knows everything about the museum and model railroads!

I had a job at a hobby shop while attending high school, we sold a lot of train cars and engines of varying scales to serious modelers. It's was wonderful to listen to John talk about the creation of scale models from scratch and it's quite impressive what they've done inside the museum.
