Amazing What You Find When You Leave the Pavement | Destination Adventure

  • Our second week in the west has arrived with just as many surprises as the first, and just as much beauty. There are so many roads out here, you could map out a different route to the same place a dozen times over, but that is exactly what makes it so much fun. Throughout this week, I did encounter some challenges with road closures, and a quick little study of the map book and we were on route again.
Getting to do some fishing was a real treat, but the weather sure is not playing in my favour this year. I don't mind the rain, I don't mind overcast and fog, I don't mind sun, but I hate the wind. Wind makes everything that I do more difficult, and I have been dealing with a lot of wind. Hopefully I can get in lots more fishing this season, but for now I am happy to have finally landed one and had a nice meal.
Chilko Lake has been on my list for years, and it sure did not let me down. Even just the drive here is amazing, but I can not wait to get out on the water.
Thank you all for enjoying another episode of Destination Adventure!

My goodness, the breathtaking beauty is amazing. You have no idea how much joy your videos give me. I am 68 years old and can not travel as I am the sole caretaker of my husband, who has multiple ailments. So travel is not an option at this point in our lives. So I travel this amazing land through you! I absolutely love the natural beauty God has blessed us with. Thank you, Dustin, for following your dream and bringing us along for the ride. God's blessing on you from Proctor Minnesota!

Like you, I appreciate these because my spouse's Parkinson's keeps us pretty close to home, Dr's and medicine. When younger, we did these trips with our kids living in WI, MT, CA, and OR. Miss it so much, and so appreciate these videos. Best to you and your husband. It's a long road, I know, and bumpy.

I'm loving these videos! They are reminding just how beautiful the Chilcotin Country is. It's been years since we adventured out there, but the beauty stays the same. So cool to have seen a couple of the wild horses!! I was super blessed as a teenager to take part in the then Parks Branch Youth Crew work program and was sent to Tweedsmuir Park for 2 months. It was the experience of a lifetime! While north of where you are in this video, I'm getting those yearnings to take a road trip along memory lane and revisit the area. Thanks so much for these wonderful videos, Dustin!

The best part of your Adventures, are the memories it bring back, when My pop and I would travel the province, for his work. I have been to every corner of the province at one time or another, and you take me to places I haven't been to in a very long time. For a few years, I owned a RAF 1000 GyroPlane, and a lot of the interior of BC, I have flown over in that little Gyro, the last 2 years I owned it, I had a Full Lotus float on it, and was able to land / take off on water, and found some amazing "fly-in" only lakes.
I wish I would have had UA-cam & digital cameras back in those days.
THANK YOU DUSTIN: for bringing me back to my youth

Best shakedown run ever! I was having a really tough start to the year and saw the cariboo chilcotin here and felt an incredible urge to go. Just being there reset my spirit. There is something very special going on in that place ❤️ Going back this summer to learn how to ride a horse at Big Creek Lodge and camp in Bella Coola while I wait for the Northern Sea Wolf to take me to Vancouver Island! Thanks for the inspiration and sharing these places, Dustin. I know it has helped me find some peace and joy ❤️🏕️

Growing up in MI, we had a camp on Lake Superior just north of Sue Saint Marie. It was our refuge from the economic woes of the late 80's construction business. My Dad had a 76 Blazer. He would wake me up early and we would explore the Chippewah and Batchawana River roads. We drove those roads for hours. Sometimes coming out at a totally different part of the Great Northern Highway. No GPS back then, just a solid true and a desire to explore. That's for bringing me back to my childhood adventures with my Dad.

I'm about to go camping with my parents in Pennsylvania. They recently bought a third wheel trailer. It'll be the first time camping with them inside of it. I'm excited and I'll be away from the machines from work for four days. I CAN NOT WAIT!

    Hello Dustin
Spoke to your mom recently about how much I love your channel, your sense of humour and your lifestyle. Tell Me do you think your sense of humour comes from your mom or your dad or is it just all You? What I cal tell you is your mother is very proud of you and loves you very much. Love your rig it is a huge improvement over the motor home. After a few more months you will figure it out and you will wondwe why you ever needed the motor home in the first place.

Wow, seeing the silhouette of your camper gave me flashbacks of all the camping my family did both while living in the Yukon, then when we moved across Canada, to settle in Nova Scotia. Wonderful memories of sitting on the back step, feeding a porcupine soda crackers. I was only 4 and now I'm wondering what the heck my parents were thinking. Good photo op? Oh well, never got hurt and made awesome memories seeing all of canada during our travels
