I recently found your videos. I enjoy them very much. Your confidence, personality & passion shine. Thank you for all your helpful tips. Did you come out with a shoe? I’d definitely would be interested in your shoes. 😊
Thank you for this video! I bought a pair of ballroom shoes because I needed some shoes quick for a Salsa festival my university is hosting and this video was extremely helpful! I've never danced in heels before so I'm looking forward to doing so with your tips :D
@@DanceWithRasa Thank you so much for responding. I am an intermediate dancer, so of course my technique isn't perfect yet, but I ended dancing terrible on the concrete floor. Spins would get stuck, and my whole body was quite sore. Would appreciate your recommendations on the best sneakers for this type of floor. Thank you!
@@mariastewart3696 try @fuego sneakers. Or get the cheapest sneakers from a normal shop with plastic sole. The more cheap the sole is the better they slip. I know it sounds crazy but it works best 😉.
Hello. Recently I bought my first pair. Though I am having a hard time with the pain in my ball of feet. Would you suggest using a foot pad with the heels ?
Foot pad can help, also might sound strange but try not to dance on heals with fresh manicure. Sometimes we buy cute dancing socks. But the pain unfortunately after many hours of dancing is real 😅
Are there any brands you can recommend for a very high arch? I have not yet found a shoe where the bottom (middle) of my foot would touch the sole... every single time my foot is arched more than the sole and is literally "in the air, with no support", no matter the heel size (can't go above 8,5 cm though).
Have you ever tried on playing with shoe size, getting a half size bigger, that helps sometimes. The other option you can try is finding a place where they make shoes according to your foot. Might be a bit more expensive but would be a perfect shoes 😉.
I need help... this might be long. But I started salsa lessons again. I'm in the intermediate level. I'm PLUS SIZED. Dancing in heels is very difficult for me since I'm too heavy so I have a very low heel. Yet I still have trouble staying off the heel. I should state that I have a bad ankle injury from years ago. I have metal plates in my ankle but now that I've been dancing again , my ankles are so sore and achy Any tips? Also, I don't get asked out much when social dancing. I go out alone and I feel so dumb standing there. Sometimes I wonder if it's because I'm plus sized. It shakes my confidence. It's hard to see all the pretty girls get asked and me not so much 😕
Hi darling, so lovely to hear from you 😊. Let's start at the emediate thing that we can fix and that is wear flats. You have injuries and your health and ability to dance is more important then heals. Secondly, unfortunately some people can be a bit cruel and not dance with someone for numerous reasons. You can't let that affect your passion ❤. And thirdly, you health is important. And body and mind is very connected, we need to take care of them both. I would like to hear more of your story , maybe I can help more 🥰
same sis. But i encourage you to just ask guys to dance instead. Very rarily they will say no. And honestly youre there to have fun right? So just ask them to dance. Youll have so much fun
Is there a way to know what your arch type is or what the arch type of a shoe is when buying online? Or do you only really know once you try on different shoes?
Unfortunately a lot of it is trial by error if you buy online. Good idea to try some shoes in congresses and then try finding similar designs online. And don't be shy to send shoes back if they don't fit 😉
Thank you so much for this helpful video. I have flat feet and struggle to find the right shoe for dancing. I am interested in hearing about any products you come up with, especially dance shoes! Thanks and have a lovely day. 😊
Stylish and comfortable flat shoes please! There aren't practically any on the market. Heels caused a long term injury for me. Currently dancing on ballet shoes.
Hi Rasa, I've been dancing Salsa and Bachata on 7 cm heels for quite some time now (about 4 years) and that worked pretty well. Recently, I decided to buy some new dancing shoes which are 9 cm high, so much higher, but now I struggle dancing on them. Specifically, the inside and outside turns are rather difficult for me because I'm loosing my balance quickly. I know I have to keep my weight on the balls of my feet and keep the core engaged and spot and so on, but do you have any tips maybe on how to learn to adjust to higher heels? Is it just a matter of practice? Also I'm quite short (1,53 cm), so maybe that's also one factor that plays a role because I basically feel like a ballerina on her toes when turning :D Anyways, I hope you understand what I mean! Lot's of love
I know exactly what you mean 😁. Firstly yes it is a matter of getting used to it and trying to change your body weight and find it again. But sometimes its not the heal its the shoes. If you bought a different style of shoe it might just not match your arch and stop you from feeling comfortable 😉.
@@LiKa-fw7kr 💗💗💗. If 3 or 4 months go by and you feel still not comfortable, maybe you need to stretch you feet a bit more for the arch or just change the shoes, but don't torment yourself 😉.
I really needed this my last year in elementary school is throwing a dance on the last day .so I'm really happy I found this video thank you

Any suggestions for the best shoes, to social dance outside on concrete?
Definitely sneakers, just make sure you get them with plastic sole so it would be more slippery and better for your knees 😉
