Looks like that fat boy could serve double duty as a survival knife. I'd sport it to use as such, processing wood and other such duties. Especially if it the handle breaks down like you said. Very cool stuff, though I'm disappointed in the M48. I always want to believe M48 is better than what I'm finding out it actually is.
Very useful for dispatching live game at a safe distance caught in snares and deadfalls. Saves ammo.
I believe for shipping and security reasons machetes, daggers and other blades bigger than pocket knife are often dull on purpose.

Yeah, unfortunately I'm also finding out they're not as good as I want them to be. They still look really cool though lol.
