He's been my favorite singer of all time too, for almost 40 years. I think you need to check him singing with Todmobile "Awaken," and also get a look at some of the Wakeman, Rabin and Anderson stuff from a few years ago. They still sound great and Jon has not lost his voice at all. You'll be glad you did. ua-cam.com/video/d_Va3e_52TE/v-deo.html Love that you love Yes as much as I always have.
JON ANDERSON is an ANGEL.. (this band line up is different than with Close to the Edge, different guitar and keyboards, it's why it has a 'grunge' feel.. (Jon ANderson & Vangelis: try that.. listen to HORIZONS.. it will make you cry)
His Vocals and Lyrics are the reasons he will ALWAYS be my musical Hero FOREVER (and since 1975 when I started collecting Yes albums!). Fantastic, heart-felt reaction, Pope! PLEASE continue to dig deeper into Yes and Jon Anderson music!!!
This is the 3rd time in 2 days that I've watched this video. I'm a big Yes fan and have never heard this AMAZING song. Thanks for the reaction .... totally awesome.
Hey Pope........I had the honor of going to lunch with Jon Anderson........and buying him lunch......at Carmine's in Chicago. Then he signed about 30 items for me. Wonderful day.
The producer and guitarist on this, Trevor Rabin, has done over 40 excellent film scores since then and toured as Anderson Rabin Wakeman with the music of YES. Very talented guy! Talk is a great album. Sounded great live as well
Jon held my hand during a whole song, looking into my eyes. For that moment we were the only two people in the arena. Even his touch is magical. This was over 40 years ago, yet I still giggle like a schoolgirl.
Trevor is da bomb! There were so many members of this band. No one questioned the changing drummers or keyboard players. I get guitar was sacred and don't get me wrong, I love original yes, but how can people not get Trevor?!? So brilliant and classic. His voice is incredible
Never apologize for reacting emotionally to Yes. Rather, embrace the feelings and know you're alive. And feel sorry for those not able to fully experience all of the dimensions that make up this music.
This is what music can do to your mind and soul. Reach in to your deepest and churn so many intense feelings. In the process cleansing you and give you hope for the future and strenght to endure and keep on fighting ..... LIFE.
My dad’s favorite band. We went to a Talk concert that opened with Alan Parsons Eye in the Sky work. My dad would be 73 today. I was a child barely 5 or 6 in the 90s when I went to the concert in California. I will never forget them playing this song. Absolutely blew my mind. I was right there with you man. I think of my dad and miss him so much, this song makes me cry and smile at the same time. Another recommendation from a huge yes fan. Hearts on the 90125 album or City of Love for some of Yes’ random heavier songs.
I was crying right along with you. Yet it was NOT out of pain or sadness..it was pure JOY! It was from a point of spiritual connection and the sweet gift YES has bestowed upon us. I have yet to meet a person that has honestly listened to this song (or any song from YES) and NOT been moved, touched or affected in some way. YES, music is supposed to be that good.
I've been a Yes fan since 1971, it does my heart good to see your reaction to this timeless music, It's the way my friends and I felt. We had a Yes cover band back then, or at least we tried... Thank You Pope, you made my day..:)
Look Popenyco..I didn't know Yes made an album in 1994....I didn't know, man.....I was in You Tube and You Tube brought up things that I might want to see or listen to.....and this album from Yes entitled, "Talk" came up....so i said let me click on this album and see and listen to Yes in 1994...right? Bro....Bro.....I was Blown AWAY!!!! Every track was GREAT!!!!! I had tears in my eyes of Joy and Ecstasy because it was sooooo good....A Masterpiece.....so I got on it and request every Reactor on You Tube who like Yes to listen and react to the album, "Talk." It has been 7 months.....7 months....before anyone has reacted...You my friend are the first reactor to react to this album or songs on this album......sooooo underrated in the Age of Hip-Hop and Rap.....no one young or old or middle age knows about this Incredible album!!!!! Watching you cry because the music and message is soooooo good was like watching you react to "Close To the Edge." And that whole album is "Heavy Metal meets Ambient and Funk" Hahahaaha...lol....hahahaha...It left me "Speechless" Great Reaction. Popenyco.....and react to more songs on this "Talk" album from Yes. 1994. I want you to react to the first two songs on the album "Talk." I want you to react to "The Calling" and "I'm Waiting."
Echo your sentiments entirely and completely but I've seen 2 other reactions to Endless Dream fyi. Dig harder 😊. Also check out Antoine Baril 'One Man Yes' but prepare yourself first, headphones, a good TV screen and no distractions. You can thank me after 👍😂.
It was barely promoted due to it being on a label that went bankrupt not short at the release of this album. That’s probably why you didn’t know about it.
Rick Wakeman once remarked during the "Yesyears" documentary commenting on the substantial contribution of Trevor Rabin to the band during their 80's - early 90's phase that he considered "Owner of a lonely heart" to be the "Roundabout" of the 80's. I reckon you could say the same about the Rabin/Anderson 90's masterpiece "Endless Dream", somewhat comparable as the 90's "Awaken" , completely different in form and complexity but also like "Close to the Edge" and "The Gates of Delirium" , conveying a similar message, love, peace & divine unity in such grand and powerful ways, all elevating our consciousness so magnificently & powerfully. How fortunate we all are to experience this immortal music in this life, divine gifts to humanity from these extraordinary musicians, best wishes
This song is a MASTERPIECE!!! And all the songs 🎵 on this album Talk are masterpieces! I had to special order it to get the album. And I really really enjoy it!!!! Wow!!! And this song makes me cry 😢....the message and music combined just cuts me up!!!
Underrated album and that track is an absolute powerhouse. The fact that so many outstanding musicians have graced this band over the years speaks volumes.
People often say that this is not their best but it belongs to the best they did. It´s jus that some of the fans of the band are stuck in the 70s and for some reason reject anything new. Of course the music has changed. But because this is not the same, it doesn´t mean it´s worse. It´s just different. I like this song as much as I love Awaken for instance. Awaken is a masterpiece from 1977, Endless Dream is their masterpiece from 1994. I love both. By the way the whole album Talk is great. I liked your reaction. Don´t know if it was genuine though. I get very emotional when I listen to the song now because I know it for so long. But I don´t think the first listen would do this to you. But anyway, I´m glad you liked this. Not many reactions to the newer Yes stuff here on YT. It´s great that someone suggested this one.
I was 12 years old when I went to my first concert. It was Yes on the Talk tour. This album holds a special place in my heart and this song in particular is amazing. I feel ya when you say it brings a tear to your eye at certain points. Had this very thing happen to me on the way home from work today, while listening to this song. This is really the pinnacle of what music can be. Just think about what it would be like to create a song like this...how much work and skill was required for it. Unreal.
I think this is Trevor Rabin's greatest song. This band is now in their 7th decade. They have had over 20 albums and 20 members. Check them out. They are my favorite band ever.
Love to see young folk learning about Yes. I think they are the greatest ever. I'm 67 and I love prog rock. I turned 20 in 75. Look at those early yes albums. There have been more than 20 artist in yes. I wish they would put ABWH back together one more time. And I'd hope they'd do 100 albums. I pray.
I don't know if you've heard before, but back before when Alan White was still an amateur. He was playing for a band in a New York club. When he went home and his phone rang. He picked it up and the caller, said we just saw you playing and we need drummer for a concert we're doing in Toronto. Alan asked, well who is this, and he said I'm John Lennon. Of course he was doubtful, but he figured he'd show up at the airport just in case. They flew to Toronto and they performed Live Peace in Toronto with Yoko's Onoes Plastic Ono band. That is one of the most famous peace concerts in history. He spent a couple years with the Plastic ono band, and Bill Bruford left Yes and the rest is History. It sounds far fetched but I know it to be fact. I've been a huge Yes fan for 50 years, and I've felt all the feelings that you are describing. I still feel them today. I don't know if you plan to react to the new configuration of Yes, but I'd like to know how you feel about them. Jon Anderson has been my hero for 50 years. I love him to death, but he's not with them know, and I chose not to look into it, and Chris passed away, and so did Alan. but I was already a fan of Jon Davison before he joined Yes. Billy Sherwood was under Chris's Tootle Ige for a couple of decades, and he learned well. Steve is still there. The keyboards has been well managed for decades. I'd sure like to know what you think.
This song just takes you in so many different directions... Love that Rabin and Anderson continued sharing vocals... Let's not forget Rabin"s incredible musicianship, Anderson's spirituality, Chris' bad ass bass ... Nothing not to like and be blown away by... Like all great Yes songs, it takes you away...
Outstanding reaction PÔPE to an epic track - it was to me in 1994 a throwback to And You and I, Close to the Edge, I've seen All Good People... etc... and then some - Trevor Rabin was an excellent addition, musician, vocalist, composer - this made me feel good. Amen.
Glad you found this track! It’s not just a matter of composition. It’s the arrangement! Been a fan of this album since finding it. This is the song that sealed the deal.
You are soo right, Pope! Choose a decade...it doesn't matter. Jon Anderson and Chris Squire to a great extent) is the "glue" of this band. I tear-up every time I listen to this song. So powerful and beautiful at the same time. I became a YES fan when I was 15...I'm 63 now, and haven't heard better. It's wonderful to watch new generations "find" YES! And your reactions mirror mine when I was 16! Thank You!
THANK YOU AGAIN! I'm 64 and when I A Lot younger my mother and I listened to YES. One of My favorites! It can get emotional. My mom going back to college in '69 it opened up our eyes and ears to all different progressive music and other genres. YES!!!
I LOVED this outro. Your words and reactions keep me coming back for things I may have missed, as well as things joyfully shared. You are one intelligent, amiable and spiritual dude who gets it.
Saw them when they toured this album, they opened with "the calling", starting the chorus "feel the calling..." emerging from the complete dark of the stadium, it was an almost spiritual experience.
Bro - your recap was great. You're right. Yes is on another plane. It's almost as if they are a link to another part of The Universe. I've been a Yes freak since high school, and that was a very long time ago. It's so cool to see young people discovering timeless music. All the best to you in all you do
I played this album when I was pregnant with my daughter! I played it all the time and when she was 15 yrs old I took her to her first YES concert in Seattle!! Epic memories!!! I met him in a club in Seattle called “Parker’s”. He was solo and talked about his new son being born! It was all so very magical!! He did some YES songs too !!!
I first heard Roundabout by accident when I put a borrowed cassette in the wrong way round in about 1973. I've loved the band since then but I'd never heard this track and it makes me cry; I had no idea it was so beautiful.
Yes fan since 1970. This is one of my favorite albums. It has loosened many bolts in my car. (Sub in the trunk) My absolute favorite of the Rabin era. Endless Dream is up there with the other "majors" IMOFWIW... Great reaction! I still get a bit teary at the end hearing Chris' voice so prominent in the mix. There's plenty more, though. Its a deep rabbit hole.
Once again I've found something new on your channel. I've listened to a lot of Yes and not heard this masterpiece before. Thanks man, keep it up and keep expanding more minds along with your own. Keep rockin' Harro 😁🤘
Yes has a new single released called, "Cut From The Stars. " New song from the legendary Progressive Rock band, YES. Their new album will be released in May 2023.
Absolutely loved watching this. You were so in the moment, really experiencing every second as it hit you. Very emotional song that gives me the chills every time I listen to it. One of my favorites from them, and like many, I've been listening to them for a very, very long time. So happy to see you enjoy this.
1974 Nassau Coliseum my first yes concert, and they performed a song called "To be Over".... I had the same reaction you did just now. I sat there with my older sister and she was mesmerized with joy. From that Night forward I never missed any of their concerts in New York, and I'll still go and watch Jon or Rick or Steve when they do solo shows. Welcome to a higher level. Enjoy the music
I remember the first time listened to this song when i was in highschool (2000) and i was a pothead. It feels like i was sitting in the Pillar of Creation 😆. I'm happy you like it, man.
Ladies and gentlemen Chris Squire and Yes the greatest show on earth. The divine was a large part of Yes and in today's world needed more than every. God bless you Pope. Tempest Fugit next?
Hey 36! I asked Pope a few weeks ago to do this incredible song. I love the Talk album and The Talk Tour was awesome. Saw many shows at outdoor venues. It was done in surroundsound which was incredible! Saw one show with another couple. Got a limousine and it was party time!🥳😎
Regarding when YES were at their pinnacle. Obviously not everyone is going to agree, but the majority put their pinnacle in the 70's, since that's when they became the great Prog Rock band. Close to the Edge is considered their greatest piece of music, though some prefer Awaken or The Gates of Delirium, while a few have other choices as well, but Close to the Edge is considered by most to be their greatest achievement. I'm one of those in that list. I think Endless Dream is great though, and I LOVED your reaction : )
@@GlobalWarring honestly,, if Jon wasn't on it,, I wouldn't like this. Thats an awful thing to say about a band that I loved so much. But,, I was a huge Genesis fan, and look what the hell happened there. I really can't get away from close to the edge, and fragile, the yes album. I like all their stuff, but not on the same level. I kinda stay in the 70s,late 60s,I like crimson, tull,Humble pie.
Glad you covered this, the sound is off the charts. I honestly never heard this CD till last month, and I can’t stop listening. True masterpiece of a song!
Perhaps one of the most important contributions to the direction of this band was by Peter Banks when he came up with the name YES. It inspired them to continually produce positive and inspirational music for decades.
Great comment ! Peter Banks doesn't get enough credit for his contributions to YES not only musically but as you mentioned it was him that came up with the name for the band. I believe those first two YES albums are underrated. There is some great stuff on them. Some of their best work.
Soon oh soon the light / Pass within and soothe this endless night / And wait here for you / Our reason to be here. Example of divine Anderson lyrics and vocals.
Trevor also gets two "Thank yous' in the credits on the Bad Boys 2 soundtrack. Even though he doesn't play a note on the CD, you can tell there is a Yes influence in half of the songs.
My favourite reaction from you yet…..The sacred music that is YES.. I have been listening to YES and the god given talent that is Jon Anderson for the last 50 years. I still react to and feel their music just like you just have done over all theses years. Enjoy the ride. Dip your toe into some of Jon’s solo stuff….Song of Seven, Animation, Change we must, Deseo, Toltec , and on and on. Some much more Yes for you to discover. Love, Light and Peace
Smart choice for your favorite singer, it doesn't get better than Jon, and he can still sing. I saw them on this tour, sat dead center 15 rows back, was fantastic. I like how you listen to music, you remind me of myself. You owe it to yourself to keep exploring great prog.
I cry every time I hear this song cause it reaches an emotional pinnacle like no other yes song…just when you think that they brought it home, the song keep accenting till the solo brings it home…❤❤❤ Do more yes from the 80’ 90’ 00’ They are the best… Even though yes build a fundamental path in the 70’s the sound, the production, and even Jon’s voice.. it all became better and better.. with or without Trevor Rabin.. Don’t let any “gate keeper” with 70’s nostalgia tell you any different..
Yes. I believe it was stored on a 2.1 GB file in 1994. That sounds bizarre. Trevor was always into new technology and pushing sounds. I guess that's why they felt he could compose soundtracks.
No, Popenyco. Don’t just keep saying ‘Yes’. I get that but when you try to find words, when you tell us what you’re feeling, that’s when we connect. That’s what we’re all looking for. Yes music has and continues to bring tears to my eyes and I search endlessly for others like me! We agree; Yes music is special. Why? I have to say it’s Jon Anderson. Jon has been connected to spirit since the beginning and has only increased that connection over the years. Awaken? I swear Jon collaborated directly with God to make that one. This Endless Dream, I think I have heard but can’t lie; I kinda gave up on 90’s Yes and stopped buying their music. But this song is incredible, again because of what Jon Anderson brings to it. Give us more! We love it.

YES' 'Talk' is a stellar LP with remarkable production quality.
"Music is supposed to be this good. Music is supposed to be THIS good??" well said.. well said.
The entire Talk album from 1994 is so prog rock mixed with heavy segments that fit perfectly. Check the entire album 👍👍👍👍👍
This music literally carried me through some very difficult times. It cleanses the soul.

Trevor Rabin does not get the credit he deserves for keeping YES alive, and this is a masterpiece.
Amen. Trevor Rabin was basically the core creative force for 90125, Big Generator, and Talk. He deserves a ton of credit for 80s/90s Yes.

Glad you found this track! It’s not just a matter of composition. It’s the arrangement! Been a fan of this album since finding it. This is the song that sealed the deal.
Everyone in yes past and present are top of the mountain for musicians period! I am glad you agree young man!
This song is so underrated. Melt your face powerful. Squire and Rabin just kill it
Melt your face. Exactly well said. Brilliant.
YES!!!
la mejor canción de Yes... y de las mejores jamás compuestas en la historia....
Completely agree! Also saw this tour and it was powerfully awesome! OuiSiYes
Hey Pope! New to your page..Love your reactions! Thank you especially for reacting to YES Talk. One of the most underrated Yes albums.
Jon Anderson THE VOICE. THE MASTER. FOREVER YES!!!🎤🎤🎤
Uhhh Chris is forever yes.
Yeah well Steve Howe kicked Jon out 😵💫🙂↕️
Another Yes album from 1996 called open your eyes is a also a mix of classic and soulful tunes.
Bro - your recap was great. You're right. Yes is on another plane. It's almost as if they are a link to another part of The Universe. I've been a Yes freak since high school, and that was a very long time ago. It's so cool to see young people discovering timeless music. All the best to you in all you do
Yes bro those vocals in the 3rd act, fucking unbelievable, thank you so very much for this reaction Sir
Long been a favorite for me💕❤️
“first calling
in the silent spring”
Talk, talk... In silent spring... So take your time...
It's where you're meant to be 💚💚💚
We basically have two words in our vocabulary no and yes. The word yes is always welcomed with joy.
Namaste
Thanks, Pope! I forget what an incredible album this is. The most underappreciated!
I can tell that "you got it" friend....This has to be my top 5 reactions this year....It made me cry...My boy John from my Accrington
Accrington Stanley? Who are they? EXACTLY😜
@@stuartryan610 haha😉
Once again I've found something new on your channel. I've listened to a lot of Yes and not heard this masterpiece before. Thanks man, keep it up and keep expanding more minds along with your own.
Keep rockin'
Harro 😁🤘
Hey Pope! Thanks for doing my suggestion. Another masterpiece!🔈🔉🔊
For you are light inside your dreams for you will find that it's something that touches me. .... Now that's how you end a song.
Pope! Nice work!
As Sly once said....Hahaha..we blew your mind!
Got a limousine and it was party time!🥳😎
@@jeffschielka7845 this tour we walked up to the ticket kiosk at 8:15pm and got 8th row right in front of Squire. Had to change my underwear lol.👑
@@lesblatnyak5947 Lol! That's just dumb luck, but awesome!😎
@@jeffschielka7845 actually we had inside info that all unclaimed VIP tickets were sold at 8:15.
@@lesblatnyak5947 That makes more sense. Always good to have an inside edge. Would like if Pope did more of Talk. So many good songs on it.😎
I was laying down, tripping ass and this song made me sit up outside of my body.
I love that you feel the music. Me too! ☮️❤️
Yes are incredible
Great choice brother. Heard this live at Madison Square Garden. It was amazing.
12:00 is where the song really hits home!!
I consider myself a huge fan,,and I dont even listen to most of the stuff after going for the one.
@@sammyholloway334 I never listened to anything after Big Generator until fairly recently. Lots of good music that you just might enjoy.
@@Lightmane im sure your right.
@@sammyholloway334 So, your thoughts on this?
This is an epic track. I've always loved it. I highly recommend the track Awaken from the album Going for the One. You won't be disappointed :-)
Just Say YES❤
Soon oh soon the light / Pass within and soothe this endless night / And wait here for you / Our reason to be here.
Example of divine Anderson lyrics and vocals.
Fun fact: Trevor Rabin did major soundtracks including Armegeddon and Remember the Titans. That's his compositions.
Trevor also gets two "Thank yous' in the credits on the Bad Boys 2 soundtrack. Even though he doesn't play a note on the CD, you can tell there is a Yes influence in half of the songs.
The intro is KILLER!
I respect you sir, for reacting genuinely to the songs that I shared my life with.
New song from the legendary Progressive Rock band, YES. Their new album will be released in May 2023.
Smart choice for your favorite singer, it doesn't get better than Jon, and he can still sing. I saw them on this tour, sat dead center 15 rows back, was fantastic. I like how you listen to music, you remind me of myself. You owe it to yourself to keep exploring great prog.
"where will we be", from the TALK album is pure genius also, great reaction.
I cry every time I hear this song cause it reaches an emotional pinnacle like no other yes song…just when you think that they brought it home, the song keep accenting till the solo brings it home…❤❤❤
Do more yes from the 80’ 90’ 00’
They are the best…
Even though yes build a fundamental path in the 70’s the sound, the production, and even Jon’s voice.. it all became better and better.. with or without Trevor Rabin..
Don’t let any “gate keeper” with 70’s nostalgia tell you any different..
The moment at 5:10 when Jon starts singing is beyond sublime!
If memory serves me this was the first fully digital recording.
Yes. I believe it was stored on a 2.1 GB file in 1994. That sounds bizarre. Trevor was always into new technology and pushing sounds. I guess that's why they felt he could compose soundtracks.
And some Yes fans lost what was left of their minds when they heard that it was a digital recording
Stepping back 5 years to 1989. The ABWH album is also great especially track Order of the Universe.
I cried with you. And remember, you could love their heavenly song "Homeworld (the ladder)", from 1999.
It's a pure ticket to heaven. Enjoy !
We love it.
1000%
There is another song from the Talk album called Where Will You Be? Highly recommend it. You will cry 100 percent.
momentos sublimes y celestiales de endless dream... 5:23, 11:33, 12:00, 12:58,16:00
