Rules clarification. I misstaught the rule about the bot placing their selected translator. They will add the sum of the silver value right 2 cards of these and then seek to find the first open slot from the right that equals that sum. I apologize for the error here!
Thanks for the video, John! Scholars is my favourite of the Garphill games they've published so far. Just a clarification on the placement conditions of the Employ action for the bot: the bot will place their Employed Translator at the bottom of the board based on the coin sum of the last two scheme cards played. They will try to put their Translator on the rightmost empty slot that matches the coin sum. If there no empty slots matching the coin sum, then add 1 to the coin sum and check again (looping back to 0 if coin sum has reached 4). In your example at 20:11, they would actually place their Translator on the rightmost slot with a coin value of 3 (the one with the 'gain a yellow die and remove a white die' reward). If that was taken, they would go to the next slot with a coin value of 3 (in your example, the one with 'gain 2 gold' reward). I hope that helps.

That makes so much more sense. I have been playing it wrong all this time. I will pin a comment. Thank you!
I was confused as to why myself however you read Arabic from right to left so do the same for the bot!
Could t you have dropped this 3 days ago?! Had to learn it all by myself 😂
Sorry.. I would still watch it though, just to be sure that you have everything flowing right. This was a tough rulebook for sure.
@@JohnLaRuffa did just that :-)
@stormburns cool! I hope it was helpful! This game is worth the effort!
