Trepang is so amazing. I love the game, cant wait for the full one.
And, you can spawn AI in there and have huge wars inside the backrooms. Its a very large map.
You don’t understand how happy I was that the Easter egg at 6:30 wasn’t a red balloon. I am so, so sick of those lol.
Fun fact: trepang 2's original demo had the backrooms as well. Only the way you accessed it was by either completing the horde mode or by clipping the through ground (which was random cause there wasn't no clip) and instead of paintings, it was red grotesque monsters chasing you
I love that the backrooms was implemented as an actual punishment. Thats very entertaining.

Fun fact, Trepang's backroom existed before it was very popular, and also existed in the earlier demos and it was very fun to shoot out the lights makes you feel like you're the entity
I've been recently playing Killing Floor 2 as the new Tidal Terror mode released a little while ago alongside a new map. I managed to actually find an Easter egg I have yet to see you cover! If you go down to the hospital level of the rig you will find on one side of the room a skinned man on a operating table, and coming out of his chest is what looks to be a chest burster from Alien. Love your videos and am always looking forward to the next release, with the hopes that my Easter egg may be featured in one! ♥️

There is actually a backrooms Easter egg in hunt down the freeman. After you first encounter the combine, run straight ahead past the janky and glitchy battle and climb up a massive rubble hill thing and hey bingo; backrooms.

At first I thought it was strange that the title of the first game, which is now shown first in this video, is '112 Operator', but it takes place in a control room in Europe and 112 is the emergency number of, among others, the Netherlands.
The fact that you have to actually noclip using TMod to find the backrooms is great attention to detail.
Of course a game that's hinged itself off of its inspiration from FEAR would include a reference to one of the most famous internet horror stories of the past few years.
Man, Trepang2 is gonna rule when it finally comes out in full.
Not only did a game properly put the backrooms as an Easter egg but it's so incredibly well done too.
Btw the backrooms aren't just one floor and you can escape alive. It gets really complicated, just the scp lore
The Foundation has various Anomalies(SCP's) to "view", as the Backrooms has various 'Floors' to explore

Just a tiny bit of stuff on Trepang2's Backrooms. There's a couple of actual human hostiles somewhere and you can actually escape from the backrooms without having to close the game.
You can escape? Never found the exit.
And there isnt just a couple enemies, im pretty sure they constantly spawn.
Every time someone mentions a carpet as an esteregg I know wich one it is. There are TONS of games having it
You can also find the Shinning Carpet in Fobia: St Dinfna Hotel. As well as Rick's Portal gun.
I think I might have a doom Easter egg/reference. In the game called arcadegeddon, there's a heavy, rocket launcher looking weapon named the BDE 9000. This weapon is one of the many weapons that you can find from loot "crates"
Bit of an odd one. But in My Singing Monsters. In the colosingum, during battle most of the monsters “attacks” are references to songs from movies, tv shows, etc…
In Woflenstein:The Old Blood, at the beginning of the German Alps chapter, when you get off the tram you can walk over to the vending machines and you will notice the familiar name of a fizzy-drink called Nuk-cola amongst the rest of names. Also in the Wolfenstein Keep chapter, after fighting your way through the kitchen, and going through the vent you will end up just in-front of Rudi Jager's room. Once you go into the room, kill the nazi standing in there, and walk over to his dog Gretas' doggy bed, and you will notice the familiar looking plushie of the flying meatball creature in the Doom games.

In the Bounty of Blood DLC for Borderlands 3, you can find a sealed off room in the facility with a chair and a fridge. The fridge is a reference to the fridge duty mission in Control.
It's probably been mentioned before but in act 1-5 of Back4blood the mission "book worms" also has the carpet from the Overlook, along with a big wheel at the end of the hall.
In the first Watch Dogs, Aiden will wipe his phone screen in the rain.
In Hitman 2, on The Ark Society mission, after a certain amount of kills with the knight armor guards with the armor will spawn.
The spiked baseball bat in deadpoly is a reference to Negan'd bat from Walking Dead.

@@CaptainEggcellent I didn't notice the reply. But the game actually has it Listed as Looseal. A baseball bat cover in wire. I'm pretty sure is what it says in game I haven't played in a couple of weeks.
In American Theft 80’s, the reason the Hotel Room is 217 and not 237 is because the haunted room was originally 217 in the book.
In Anger Foot, on level 9 if you kick open the door to one of the stalls it will reveal a room of skeletons praising a toilet.
Hey so, idk if you covered it already but the game "Time Loader" has a few references in Adams room, one being a small figure of the DeLorean from Back to the Future
Time to make a game to include a DeLorean on the Shining carpet with a sword-in-bonfire nearby and a sewer grate with a red balloon as well. ;P

Am surprised you actually played the whole thing for 112 Operator.
On sniper elite 5, in one of the missions your objective is to take a photograph of this bomb they are developing at a weapons facility. It's usually hanging in a wind tunnel, and when you take a picture Karl will say something about how the fins will make it so that the bomb can travel further. But if you shoot the hooks that it is hanging from first, the bomb will crash into the floor underneath it, and when you take the picture he'll say something about "I'll just tell command it was that way when I got here."
AWESOME, I love that trepang2 Easter egg is in this video when I found it I was so blow away
*Cough* I think the cone on the head might be a reference to Glasgow's Cone Head
For the Trepang backrooms, in the old demo you could actually escape if you looked long enough where you would seemingly go in circles in a room before you found a large void with a bunch of bridges. Escaping would bring you to a test level you could have gotten by beating the provolone anyway.
Not sure about the newer one though.
I know I'm late but it was originally room 217 in the book, so it feels good to see it that way
in Trepang2 you can acctualy exit by finding a blue level at a random location (it will load) and then you can return to safehous

I recently just experienced a tiny Easter egg, I think on Union Town of Destroy All Humans remastered when your in your ship attacking the military base your at, one of the soilder say here's Johnny, I said this locating because it's the only place I heard it.

In Fallout: New Vegas with the Wild Wasteland perk, the giant rats in Broc Flower Cave will be named "Rodents of Unusual Size", a reference to the movie The Princess Bride, where the giant rats in the Fire Swamp are called "ROUS", or "Rodents of Unusual Size". Lady Jane in Freeside will also quote the movie when prompted about the ROUS' saying "Oh I assure you, sir, they are very real and very large".
I got a pretty neat little easter egg in Black Ops Cold War. In Multiplayer you can get the Operator named Maxis, who is of course Samantha Maxis from Zombies. Well sometimes while playing as her one of her lines for getting an execution is "Instakill" which is of course a reference to when she used to be in control of the zombies as "Instakill" was one of the power ups you could get that she would say when she was the announcer in the previous games.

Anger Foot is such an acid trip of a game
Funny thing is, 1st time I saw an easter egg about the Shining carpet wasn't in a video game. It was in the 1st Toy Story movie in Sid's house
Back4Blood uses the carpet in their game as well! It's in the hotel in Act 1. I recognized it the first time I played it. :)
I love the three movie they shown in the Easter egg for American 80's thieves sim. Which are rumbo, punisher and mad max

5:25 The "Fat Max" poster is not only a reference to Mad Max, but it also appears to be a reference to the Weird Al's music video for "Fat", which was released in 1988, with the poster guys outfit looking very similar to the one seen in the video.
5:24 the films reference Is dumbo is rambo , the toiletnator is terminator and fat max is mad max
Fun Fact about that Backrooms Easter Egg. It existed in the previous build of Trepang2, yet the way you accessed it was different. You actually had to finish the horde mode on either of the maps, in which case your screen would flicker for a moment, before teleporting you to the Backrooms. It was another Horde mode, but it was still funny to me
I don’t know if you checked out either of these Easter eggs in this game but in walking dead saints and sinners I’ve actually found two Easter eggs! The first Easter egg might be a reference to Gordon Freeman’s crowbar. When you look at the description of a crowbar it says “Perfect for prying off crabs.” Another Easter I’ve found is in the blue mansion at the shallows. I found an item called “Candelabra”, and if you look at its description it says “Enchanté chérie.” which translates to “Nice to meet you”, it’s also what Lumière says to Belle when they first meet in Beauty and the Beast.

In CoD World At War, I got an achievement on Semper Fi by having a quick trigger finger when a soldier was about to die. His name? Private Ryan. Not sure if you’ve uncovered it yet or if it’s even an Easter egg or reference, but I just wanted to mention it.
Deadpoly looks like an unturned clone with the artstyle as a mobile game I played, the exact same artstyle.
Deadpoly also has a barbwire wrapped bat named Looseal referencing Lucille from The Walking Dead.
I legit thought that Captain had misspelled deadpool when the game name is Deadpoly💀💀💀

In trepang2 if you grab a shield enemy they keep the shield and you can use it to ricochet bullets back at enemies
there's another easter eggs in Trepang 2, you can see in high valuable target list on mission rooms, one of the target name Rama... he described as Indonesia martial arts expert and join the horizon corp, Rama was the character from Indonesian action movie The Raid, and yes, in the movie Rama was the Indonesian spec ops character with the dangerous martial arts skill... in The Raid movie Rama was played by Iko Uwais... you should check it... and watch the movie....

The thing with the anger foot animation is a free animation you can download a lot of people use I just forgot the link and that’s how the thanos meme was made by using that so I don’t think it was to necessarily reference that
When you just started talking about Deadpool the big nuke is a reference to Fallout 3 Megaton
The Backroom easter egg was also in the Trepang 2 2017 demo if ı remember right after finishing a horde mode map 1 you would get into the backrooms but sadly it just worked as another horde mode map with 30 waves instead of all the new cool creepy stuff the new 2022 demo has.

U missed 2 Easter eggs in DeadPoly. In the trader shop u can find a guy name Tallahassee from ZombieLand and a baseball bat named Lucie from The Walking Dead.
The shining carpet is also shown in surgeon simulator 2
I am thinking the Cone reference from deadpoly is a reference to Conehead,a meme of a guy wearing full adidas tracksuit,a traffic cone and holding a stop sign ripped off the concrete

Easter Egg: In Star Wars Battlefront 2, when you are in the Jakku Star Destroyer, you can klick in the trooper cantina a button where some cake come out.
Never knew about Trepang2 but I’m shocked it has a Backrooms Easter Egg, no way out since it’s like what 999 levels and the only way to escape is to close the game
First of all, the levels thing was added later by the weird community it formed around it, they based this one on the original 4chan post. Second of all, there is a way out.
I really miss the fear games, I wanted to replay them but I am not sure if I want the good memories of them or the inevitable disappointment of replaying them.
