I agree 1000% with the Bee Girl custard. My hair felt like rocks....like I could literally break each curl off. Absolutely not! No ma'am. A touchable hold is what I like.
hi rae 🤗 we know that every hair product doesn't work for every person, but it's the trying...and trying...and trying that helps us find the og's - and the o-u-t's. tfs
I appreciate your honesty because my hair doesn't like a lot of Glycerin. My hair responds similarly to products the way your hair does mostly. I'm not settling for "ok" results going forward. I want holy grails!
Hi Rae, I enjoyed the video and wanted to try the Doux 808 base gel when I first saw it and I may still try it if I see it on sale on the ground but none of your other fails, I really wanted to try so no disappointments for me . Thanks always for YOUR honest options.
Thanks for sharing and taking one for team 🙂. I've been natural for almost 15 years. I've pretty much rolled back to the OGs like CRN and shea moisture products to name a few. I love the Donna's Recipe sweet potato pie line. The whipped vanilla artificial scent and tacky feeling didn't work for me. I actually rewashed my hair. I gave it to my daughter and she likes it. I'm going to give the 808 base gel, big poppa and bee girl gels one more chance during the warmer months. I'm still trying to use my stash. My only desired purchases for 2025 are the CRN wash day products.
Yep, sometimes the OG products are worth going back to. I'm going to try the big poppa again, but the others can go. Stay strong on using your stash.💪🏽
The doux is unpredictable for me performance wise. Bee girl only works for me if I have UFD curly magic underneath. 808 + mousse def was too sticky for me too. Crazy, sexy, curl was okay but the smell was too chemical honey 😷 same with dear mama the milk was so moisturizing, but the candy smell lasted for DAYS; big poppa was too drying & made my hair frizzy; but I’m hard headed bc I’m going to try their new set of products I got their new mousse chief rocka (happy to report it smells great!) and honey dip. 🙏🏾 these are the one
Wow! Thanks for taking one for the team.😂 I'm glad you finally found some products that work. I won't be trying anything else, just not worth it to me. I have so many other products that I love. Thanks for tuning in and for sharing your thoughts on the brand.💛
@ 😂 😂 it’s FOMO... fear of missing out. I am happy to report that the chief rocka mousse is really good! I used it for two French braids on freshly washed hair and I love it so far! Not drying but has great hold.
Exactly!!! Oh, if you watched my last vlog, you probably saw that I picked up the blue wetline.😁 Let me know the best product to use it with so I get the best wash and go. ☺️
That’s my fav gel!! I use it with almost EVERYTHING!! I think my fav combos are probably with the NLS Papaya leave in & cream (or with either one alone).. Adwoa Baomint leave in & cream (or either alone).. Melanin leave in & Taliah Waajid curly curl cream.. MICHE lavish leave in & bounce curl cream.. and Pattern Palo Santo leave in & mousse! I also like to use any of my leave in I listed & the Doux CraxySexyCurl with the gel as well!
@@TheNenaBrown thanks for all the great suggestions. I think I'll try it with the NLS or Pattern since I have both of those products. 🤞🏽Hope I like it!
Hey Rae! I've had that bee curl custard in my stash for a while now. I'm a little scared of it lol. Everybody talks about the amount of hold on it. Maybe I'll give it a try in the summer.
I just returned all things in pink packaging from Donna’s Recipe. I took all that time to do my hair and it looked like I needed to wash as if I was at the end of the week-DULL!! The scent smelled like sweet buttered popcorn. My daughter said ewww
I gave away all my Curl Daze products. The gel flaked like something terrible. I don't use a lot of gels. I have not mastered wash and gos so I do more twist outs, braid outs and like cream stylers mostly.
Thank you for your list and insight! Tip for all on deodorants, be sure to check if you are looking for a deodorant for odor specifically and/or an antiperspirant for sweat. There are many that are strictly deodorants so they may not help as much with your sweat but there are a few brands that have deodorant/antiperspirant in one. I can only use a specific Dove at this time lol I had a very bad reaction to a secret product that burned and left some dark marks so I’ve been afraid to venture out. 💜stay safe and be good to each other
Hi Rae, the only thing I have tried from your fails list is Now I am Nappy and I really like alot of her products. Just like you said not everything works for eveybody. Thanks for trying and sharing😊
Thanks for sharing. I should have tried the Oat and Aloe line instead of the hibiscus & Chebe, maybe I would have had better results. Maybe. Thanks for tuning in.
Rae thank you so much for this video, the only one i have tried is the doux 808 base gel and I'm not a fan. For me, my hair is soft but looks dull . Absolutely no shine and kinda fluffy. And i dont like that! Thank you again ❤
"I smoothed it in. I worked it in. I did all the things." Ain't nobody got time to be jumping through hoops, standing on my head, lifting one leg just to make a product work😅
Hi Rae, We enjoy your videos! Have you tried Ouidad Curl Shaper Out of (H)Air Volumizing Jelly? If so, please let us know. If you haven't tried it yet, please add it to your list! I will keep my open for it!
Hi! I'm glad you enjoy my videos. I have not tried the Ouidad Curl Shaper Jelly and probably won't. I have not had the best luck with Ouidad products. I do have their moisture lock gel on hand that I still need to try, but after I use the things I have, I probably will be done with Ouidad. Also, my hair is not thin and really doesn't need help with volume. Thanks for the suggestion, though, and for tuning in.

Thanks for another great review Rae. Hair looking great as well.
Thank you!

Hi Rae, thanks for the update. Love the video very informative (for me)... as always I appreciate the information and it'll save me my coins 😂❤
Thanks for tuning in and glad it was helpful!

Great video Rae 🥰💙.. I always say & truly believe that everything is just not going to work for everybody 🤷🏽♀️
I agree 100%!
Design essentials honey custard was a fail for me too, i might throw it away now that you agreed lol
LOL, too funny😂
In 2025 I have ZERO time for learning curves!!

Girl, that hold is rock solid. Too much for me, but I'm anxious to hear what you think.
Thank you for your video. BTW - your hair looks amazing in this video. Did you make a video on what you used to achieve this look?
You're welcome! Thanks, I did make a video on this hair and it will be coming very soon, so keep a look out for it. Thanks for tuning in.

Oh no! I know the feeling. It's a drag when a product lets you down after all that work.

I'm glad you enjoy her products and thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'm sure it will help someone who was on the fence about purchasing.
The NowIAmNappy Oat & Aloe Twist Creme really worked for my hair a few years ago. I bought the new line with the gel but haven't tried them yet.
I love the Now I am Nappy Gloss Bars. I like everything from the Hibiscus and Chebe line but the gel. The deep conditioners are good too.
Thanks for sharing. I should have tried the Oat and Aloe line instead of the hibiscus & Chebe, maybe I would have had better results. Maybe. Thanks for tuning in.

What is in the Curl Daze gel???
My hair won’t dry in it and it went on frizzy.
The curl cream also by Curl Daze I like. A lot.
No idea. Thanks for tuning in and sharing your experience with the products.
