“Astepro and GoooOoOoOooo!!”
That NCR reveal was great. Did anyone else notice that Lucy's vault ALSO had a chalkboard with a timeline on it ending in a nuke. And in vault 4 you see essentially the same thing except its detailing what happened to shady sands. It feels like civilization built itself back up, then blew itself up again like its some kind of cycle that always ends in vault tec.
Let's goo!!
I love the Fallout theme playing right as Lucy reveals the New California Republic flag. It really gave me chills.
Goosebumps man all over
At st!
That was awesome!
It was fantastic! I head a tear. I like it because the theme plays a few times this season, and when it does, it's always when people are remembering the NCR.
It is the "Fallout theme" like it's the same cord progression and everything.
But that one SPECIFIC track isn't from New Vegas at all. It's from Fallout 4.
How are you gonna say that Fallout 4's theme is the "definitive" Fallout theme?
You didn't, but just by calling it the "Fallout theme" implies there's just the one.
Someone from the Brotherhood calling another place a cult is pretty funny.
Dinner scene in this episode is top tier. Both actors FLEXED on it. Both sides had valid points too it was expertly written and performed.
Interesting side note. 'A Boy and His Dog' was the inspiration for the original fallout. I feel like the poster for 'A Man and His Dog' was a nod to that.
I've read and watched A Boy and His Dog. I loved the shout out.
@@SwordTune All of Harlan Ellison's works are fantastic btw. You should try 'I have no mouth, and I must scream.'
It's wild seeing Dallas Goldtooth because he's normally very comedic. But he KILLED the seriousness of this role.
The bar scene is literally my favorite dialog-focused scene in the whole show. No background music is even necessary, they let it feel serious but also like a natural conversation between old friends.
Genuine question, do you think him being an activist helps? He might be kinda used to some pretty serious conversations.
@wakoblank I would say it definitely doesn't hurt, but I love that they bring his indigenous background into it as well. Charlie knows Cooper isn't bigoted, but he recognizes his friend has a blindspot about how he's perceived in their industry. Cooper is genuine when he says that he portrayed his role well, but fails to see how the "mystic Indian who can commune with nature" is a bad stereotype for Charlie's people, and the fact that Charlie personally is doing well doesn't make up for it.
@@TheDoctor2ndWell put. This show has really surprised me with how well-thought-out its commentaries are.
Chris Parnell (Cyril from Archer and Jerry from Rick And Morty) is so perfect in this role. And I love how even after the hell that Lucy and Maximus have been through, they’re still too scared of being impolite and pointing out his and other peoples mutations.🤣🤣
Also after seeing Matt Berry as Codsworth aka Mr Handy these guys need to finally watch What We Do In The Shadows.
Chris Parnell, do you mean Dr. Spaceman?
THAT'S WHERE I KNEW THE VOICE FROM! I was going mad trying to figure it out. 🤣
@@boletus8290 yes “Dr” Leo Spacemen
Or you know. From many years on SNL lol
@@thevagrantgaming Never really watched SNL, it's not really that big of a deal outside of north america. I've seen a clip or two every now and then but not more than that.😅
The writing in this episode and the mystery was SOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD
What?? That episode had super bad writing.. if you don’t want the test subjects or new people to know about lvl 12 why mention “ oh and remember don’t go to level 12 everyone “ 😂 no one would ask even.. also when it’s so secret why it’s not locked at all or shut down for just anyone to use the elevator.. piss poor writing.
@@dirkdiggler5581 Nobody cares about your crying.
Not only is there a ton of cult elements in Fallout, but full on Lovecraftian outergods elements. I want to see it so bad, the statues, the aliens, you know they are real.
The Mannequins 😳
Ghoulification is random. Most humans in the wasteland will die after long exposure to radiation. Ghouls are the ones that adapted and mutated after long exposure to the irradiated wasteland. But there are also humans who became resistant to radiation, like the faction called The Children of the Atom. They did not turn into ghouls.
As well, depending on how much radiation they’re exposed to, a ghoul can become feral if the radiation exposure affects their minds.
Some can even become a type of ghoul known as a Glowing One, where from an overabundance of radiation exposure they become a walking conduit of radiation. Almost all of them are feral, with only 2 known Glowing Ones still possessing sentience.
@@Phanthief95 True. Jason Blight and Oswald the Outrageous.
Nah, they just turned into dead!
Children of the atom dont have any resistance they just think the radiation sickness is a plus point
Generally, it's sudden exposure. There was also somebody turned ghoul from the FEV.
Yup!
15:34 I got chills too hearing the Theme as I watched that Episode. So good.
vault 4 mightve been my favourite place they visited
Funny thing is it wouldn't be out of place within the games since some of the vault are like that, I found a vault run by kids in one of games once cannot remember which game but I think it was new vegas
@@clintbrew You might be thinking of little lamplight from fallout 3. It's not a vault, but it is in a cave that has a secret access to vault 87.
@@vorastrixaridarastrixiejir403 ye its probs little lamplight
@@vorastrixaridarastrixiejir403 ok, It been awhile since I played FO3 and probly remember things differently
@@clintbrewnothing beats the vault ran by a bunch of Gary’s lol. I still get the “Gary!” Yell in my head. That quest gave me ptsd
"it's criminal they didn't do this one week at a time." Me- "Thank GOD they did this all at once I don't need that stress of waiting."
It kind of ruins the water cooler discussions at work though, so I get what he's trying to say.
Agreed i much prefer it all releasing at once
Some shows are better Weekly while some are better binged
@@RaXXha none of my friends are watching it, and I work at home! So disagree again hahaha
I hate weekly shows. All it does for me is delay the release and me having to avoid spoilers like the plague while waiting for the last episode to air and binging it then. If i wanted weekly/daily i would watch normal TV.
Part of the reason for the experiments were to gain the ability to evolve humanity to survive in the outside world. The methods were just bat-shit crazy
What I like about the trust split in the vault with Maximus being ok and Lucy distrusting is that for Lucy, the vault is her life and vault tech is good. So she has every reason to not trust it. And for Maximus, the vault just seems a thousand times better than the surface. So none of it phases him
Vault-Tec*
Greg: ….
Michael: …, it’s Fallout
like, im sorry but, he annoys me a lot
I just love they tied in Shady Sands from the game to the TV. So amazing.
Aaron Clifton Moten(Maximus) acting gives me that same feeling Chance Perdomo gave me in Gen V. They both have this gravitas to their characters that I hope gives him more roles. Very unfortunate what happened to Chance. (Also Aaron looks like a young Denzel Washington)
Dude straight up looks like a discounted Cuba Gooding Jr
Cuba + Majors + Denzel
Disagree on young Denzel. I mean have you seen young Denzel?
@@VoLuTheRwith a dash of Jonathan majors
Ngl idk if this is a trope or cliche but their whole relationship, Lucy and Maximus especially when she asks for the Brotherhood’s help really reminds me of Finn and Rey.
I heard someone say "a cross between Cuba Gooding Jr and Jonathan Majors" and now I can't un-see it
Are you kidding? At first episode I started googling him, because I thought he's the son of Cuba Gooding Jr, 🤣
@@VoLuTheR I thought he was Jonathan Majors when I first saw him lmaooo
@@VoLuTheR LOL same i swear he could of been a Gooding jr LOL
Double Toasted?
Denzel Washington
the best part about vault 4 is they are probably the only truly good vault with people who actually just want to help
well now they are since all of the vault tech scientists have died but originally they were obviously extremely evil
Matt Berry as Mr. Handy/Codsworth is perfect!
I love seeing Matt Berry in the show, and his line about his character and Walton Goggins's character about both being products is really powerful with how true it is. It is kind of sad seeing how happy Maximus was in the vault since it was the first time in his life that he truly got to breathe and enjoy the pleasures and simplicity of living underground in the Vault and never experience the fear of death or war on a constant basis. Love seeing Chris Parnell in the show, too. It has always been hilarious, and every time I hear him, I just hear Jerry from Rick and Morty.
Max's line *"You wanna make my cock explode?"* might be my favourite line the entire show!🤣
I would have been so happy if the overseers name was Jerry 😂
Or Cyril
It might be Matt Berry’s most straight-played character
She offered my boi Maximus "free" cheeks and he refuse, this guy maximus is a doofus lol
I think Moldaver was frozen in one of the cryo tanks in vault 4. I think she was responsible for bringing in the surface dwellers thus changing vault 4s purpose.
Agreed, & overtime she became their worship goddess 🤔👌
Or she was replaced by a Synth!
Matt Berry does not voice any of the Mr handy robots in the fallout games. It’s not a cameo from the games, it’s just a cameo from a legendary UK comedian.
Wow he really sounds like codsworth to me
"This is a cult!"... says the Brother of Steel.
I mean…was he wrong?
@@abyssalvoid4644Yes
@@greatsageequaltoheaven8115 brother, did you watch the episode? They are a cult buddy boy
@@abyssalvoid4644 Yes the Brotherhood of Steel is a cult
I loved seeing him get chills with the main music playing over the flag i had major goosebumps, this show does an amazing job with the little things that fans love
Its funny that Cooper was talking about getting a ranch in Bakersfield since the Ghoul city of Necropolis is located under the ruins of Bakersfield.
the shiver i got when i heard that Fallout theme... my god. i loved this series before that, but damn... perfectly timed. this is def my favorite series Amazon has put out.
What made me curious there is, Barb is talking as if it's going to happen despite there are still negotiations. She isn't talking as a possibility but an event that's basically inevitable
To be fair, that's basically how some people talked in the real world during the Cold War.
@@marauderdz yes but I think it's different from a person being in a leading military tech company than fat joe on the street
The vagueness of her motivations is very nicely delivered in the show: like back when they’re shooting Cooper’s commercial you can tell she’s got a hidden agenda, but then you the scene w/their dinner in this episode; very clear she’s a true believer but how much predicates her marriage w/ Coop vs her exploitation of that marriage
@@IsaakvonKaempfer0 People working in or with the military were often those who were most convinced that nuclear war was probable, if not inevitable. But that was mostly because they knew about all the close calls and stuff the rest of us didn't, not because they were aware of some nefarious plan.
saw glad greg’s initial reaction to the ghoul knowing moldaver was her being his daughter because I thought the same thing and now I don’t feel stupid, not to put greg on a pedestal or anything, but still, at least I wasn’t the only one 😂
I just realized the vault 4 overseer is Jerry from Rick and morty 😂
I got chills when I heard the Fallout 4 theme.
Can't wait to see Rad Scorpions, those things are badass.
Next season we need Rad Scorpions and Deathclaws.
Literally just watched the previous watch along nice timing
Fun Fact: at 18:49, when Coop (the ghoul) is looking at the wanted board. The one picture of the WANTED Ghoul is Ben from Nuka-Break.
That car you skipped a scene with around 19:00 I believe is a Kaiser Darrin. Family has a fully restored prototype that I got to sit in. Very small car but so beautiful.
Matt Berry always kills it
I think the lady in the tank gave birth to Lakelurks.
The poster when Walter was walking down the stairs, “a man and his dog”, is a reference to the book, “a boy and his dog at the end of the world”, or the 1975 movie “a boy and his dog”. One of the two main books said to be a huge inspiration for the fallout games, the other being, “Canticle for Leibowitz” by Walter M. Miller Jr. I have both but have had trouble reading them, the first because I have a feeling the dog may die by the end and that’d be sad and the other because it’s just a tough read for me lol. I love fallout, great show I’m glad they didn’t screw jt up
Yes michael! Ive been waiting for your reaction when you see the NCR flag and the Fallout theme. I almost cried when I watched it lolol
Also the president of the gov.. Boss Hog from dukes of hazzard, and the boys Rosco at least one of them LOL
This episode for me, especially with that beginning part established that there are definitely ways that you could easily make a great BioShock series in television or movie format. It just comes down to atmosphere, world, building, and lore establishment which BioShock as a video game series is probably one of the best ever in doing. I know Netflix has that movie right now with good people behind it, but they gotta give that to somebody to put in theaters.
I called the phone number from the commercial at the beginning and it scared the crap out of me 😅
I was at work when I did.......bad idea lol
Did not expect what I found there
What was it now I'm scared to try it 😭😭
@@SuperCasperman just a man screaming and then it hangs up lol
Uhh...okay. not gonna try it then lol @@isaiah11726
Fallout the games and this series has parts of every genre you can think of:
Western
Classic Sitcom
Pulp Detective
Romance
Zombie Apocalypse
Lovecraft Horror
Atomic Punk
Cronenberg
Political Intrigue
Cocktail Culture
Superheroes
Aliens
Cults (so many Cults!😂)
Mutants
....I'm running out of genres, but if you can think of one, Fallout has it!
Medieval Knights
Don't forget it also contains a shit ton of retcons and lore inaccuracy.
@@shroomgoose because women and blacks exist on the show,
It's very clear you've never played the games.
Matt Berry isn't Codsworth in Fallout 4. That would be Stephen Russell ^^
I only now realized Chris Parnell is jerrys voice
I always felt the only use of the Fallout theme, with the NCR flag was a very key point they wanted to make for some reason. Hence attaching the most 'important' memory link to the game with the flag, for the players of the game...
The show used the theme twice, the 2nd time is the first scene in Ep 7
Me personally I enjoy that the episodes were released all at once.
The editing is amazing. The cross cutting is expertly done
Take a shot every time he says “that’s Fallout!”
I like when cooper was walking through his own house one chick was like surprised hes in his own house..also i like how walter is playing cooper and the ghoul its really like two different people..great show
15:41 I too got the chills at that moment. The Game theme was perfectly places there.
What was YOUR Reaction to the ending of this episode?!
Really shocked!
Bad writing about vault 4 and the lvl12… feels completely forced.. “ oh hey we have a Level 12 everyone.. but we don’t talk about it! Don’t go there! “ also it’s without any security or locked… like wtf is this. 😂
It’s a really good series but this was really poor writing to rush the plot
Got chills when the Fallout music started playing as well, such a fantastic show!
Worst Vault: #11 - vote and see your loved or hated ones "Sacrifice" to your Vault-tec overlords
4 survived (actually 1 after he shot the other 3)
Or the Gary Vault?
Vault 11 will make you question your faith in humanity.
Vault 77 wil make you hate ventriloquists.
Vault 27 may be the worst, they deliberately filled it with double the people for the food and housing, then let everybody go into a cannibal murder spree in order to survive.
This show blew my expectations out the water.. it was a brilliant watch! I CANT WAIT for the next season!
16:44 I didn't catch that the first time around! Great observation, Mike!
i think this has been the best reaction content on fallout I've seen so far. good job guys.
the other guy spoils a lot of the mystery for new viewers who never played the game
I love the series and your coverage of it. Just the best on the net. Well done RR
Literally goosebumps when i hear the fallout theme
Great Reaction Greg and Michael! This show is so crazy and cool! 👍
this show was so good i had to binge watch it.. im still going to enjoy your reactions.. because this show is wild.. keep up he good work
23:02 And what's great, is that the showrunners can be guided by a healthy and established longrunning lore - So they have something that can corral them from going out too crazy and not finishing it right
14:31 Maximus' room 428 seemed to be the same adjacent room the Ghoul walked into during his commercial at the beginning of the episode 1:41
Need the next two episodes ASAP! It's so good
ive loved just how great this how mixed the game , the story and the easter eggs together . it was just so full of stars to quote flloyd heywood
When he calls her "Gucy" i can't stop laughing for some reason 🤣🤣
Better than Gary?
This show is awesome the characters are well acted and written, there hasn't been one bad or slow episode... really want to play the games just too explore the world further.
If you really want to dive into the lore, don't take Bethesda's writing to heart. They can't make up their fucking minds about anything so there are constant retcons and nothing is concrete.
I jumped outta my couch and screamed when the FO4 theme played. Chills
seeing the fallout story play out through the game and then watching a live action adaption to it just makes everything hit twice as hard. so satisfying and I'm happy they didn't flop.
This shows so good 🥰 great reaction guys. Hope Greg dives into the games eventually
Its an original story just set in the fallout universe, so i mean while some of us are clued in to certain things i guess, none of us really know whats going on, until we finished the show that is which i do agree is criminal they didnt telease weekly and would have helped to better create appreciation for just how good each episode is and would have been the talk of youtube reaction channels and review or breakdown channels for two months had they gone that route...
"Shut up Michael dont say anything" lmfao as someone whos never played the games , Exactly.
Geeking out over the fallout theme really made my day. Thanks for sharing your reaction with us I love fallout
I absolutely love that the battle for Anchorage Alaska was mentioned that was one of my favorite dlcs for Fallout 3
Finished it last night and WOW
The NCR is a prime example that War ... War never changes. Perfect time to hear the song
don't you think the govermint is wearing former NCR uniform?
I have goosebumps and tears when the theme showed up and my wife had no idea lol

As much as I wish this was released on a weekly basis episodes 6 & 7 really work well when watched back to back. It is really one large episode broken in two.
Oh hell yeh been waiting for this
Out of all the Comments, no one has brought up Lucy McClane is John Mcclanes daughter. Is this a nod to Die Hard
