I lost my wife a few years back. After a 6 year battle from breast cancer. It has taken some time to heal and restore. This music spoke to me. So, I wrote to it. I hope you can relate. Thank you for the inspiration. "Reminiscing Memories" "Reminiscing Memories" Lately I've been captured by time Left alone, reminiscing of memories From days of old Like a wounded soldier, who's needed to mend A weight has lifted off my shoulders I smile, because I've moved forward And I have to say Life is beautiful now, peaceful Free... To finally live out the remaining days of my life These tears that roll down my face Honestly, some are sad, because of where I've been But most are happy ones For where I am going From the beauty of the one I have found Love is unconditional, unselfish And may it always remain that way She believes in me And that is all I need She's helped me heal and restore And I've become more confident than ever before It is good to see the shadows finally leaving And the sun shining, ever so brightly Memories to let go of Memories help keep us alive To never forget where we have been There are battles I've fought The darkest of valleys walked...yet I survived Leaving wounds that have healed But scars will always remain A reminder, every time Of what I have been through It keeps me humble Like setting small ships in the water and letting them go Then running to the one who's waiting for you To the one who loves you It's an early summer morning, as I sit in the warm sand Listening as gulls cry out in the sky Ocean waves roll in slowly and touch my feet The salty taste in the air lets me know I've finally come up for air, to breathe once more That I am finally free Finally... at peace To be the man, I am supposed to be Again... "Reminiscing Memories"
Lately
I've been captured by time
Left alone, reminiscing of memories
From days of old
Like a wounded soldier, who's needed to mend
A weight has lifted off my shoulders
I smile, because I've moved forward
And I have to say
Life is beautiful now, peaceful
Free...
To finally live out the remaining days of my life
These tears that roll down my face
Honestly, some are sad, because of where I've been
But most are happy ones
For where I am going
From the beauty of the one I have found
Love is unconditional, unselfish
And may it always remain that way
She believes in me
And that is all I need
She's helped me heal and restore
And I've become more confident than ever before
It is good to see the shadows finally leaving
And the sun shining, ever so brightly
Memories to let go of
Memories help keep us alive
To never forget where we have been
There are battles I've fought
The darkest of valleys walked...yet I survived
Leaving wounds that have healed
But scars will always remain
A reminder, every time
Of what I have been through
It keeps me humble
Like setting small ships in the water and letting them go
Then running to the one who's waiting for you
To the one who loves you
It's an early summer morning, as I sit in the warm sand
Listening as gulls cry out in the sky
Ocean waves roll in slowly and touch my feet
The salty taste in the air lets me know
I've finally come up for air, to breathe once more
That I am finally free
Finally... at peace
To be the man, I am supposed to be
Again...
