Thank you very much for your comment Sheila which is greatly appreciated. Dwarf Green Beans are a fantastic crop to grow and I grow as many as I can because you can also freeze them for a supply through the winter. I will also be planting more over the next few weeks. Kind regards. Gary

I would have never thought to sow cucumbers now but maybe I should dig out the seed packet and give them a try!

Thank you very much for your comment. Yes, with the warmer temperatures you should still be able to get a crop of cucumber into late September and before the first frosts. Kind regards. Gary

Thank you very much for your comment Jenny, I’m pleased you found the video helpful. I must admit, making these videos helps remind me what to plant as well, as I rummage through my seed box to see which veg to feature! Kind regards. Gary

I am starting off some broad beans that are supposed to be good at this time for a crop in October called Luz de Otono. Plus some turnips called Snowball. It’s my first time so fingers crossed 🤞

Thank you for your comment Sharon which is always greatly appreciated. I've not grown that variety of Broad Beans before so please let me know how you get on. Snowball turnips are a great variety and you should get a good crop. Kind regards. Gary

As you say raised beds are ideal for carrots to help protect against carrot root fly. Lifting to thin out can attract carrot root fly as the smell is released when transplanting, so I don’t thin mine either x

Thank you very much for your comment Lucy. I agree lifting and disturbing the carrots can cause more problems so like you I just sow them and leave them. I always get a decent crop with Autumn King 2. Kind regards. Gary

I've just sown cauliflower 'All year Round' & expect them to crop in October & kohl rabi which should mature around the same time.

Thank you very much for your comment which is greatly appreciated. All the year round is a great variety Cauliflower which I always do well with. It’s great to get fresh veg beyond the main fishing season and now is a good time to sow other veg seeds. Kind regards. Gary

Do you think i can sow seeds of climbing green beans?
I have just had a fantastic crop from a set of 8 plants i bought from a garden center, back in March: i had to cover them with fleece as it froze in April and the soil in a plastic container was so cold , i thought i would lose them, but, no they did grow healthy.
So…do u think i could try again now, but sowing them?
    We are in North Wales….

It is worth giving it a try as I think there will be enough time for you to sow some climbing French beans and get a harvest before the first frosts. If you have the seeds you don’t have too much to lose be giving it a go. Kind regards. Gary
