- We finally launch Wishful Thinking in Leros, Greece, ready for our second sailing season. We're nervous about our launch as we've done lots of work below the waterline and found a leak after launching last year. Our friends (along with their cat, Chicho) invite us over for a boat tour of their traditional-style gaff rigged ketch, with strong pirate vibes! We then set sail across the Cyclades islands, stopping at Astipalea, Schinousa, Paros, Antiparos / Despotiko and Sifnos. The weather is cold and stormy at times, but the sailing conditions are excellent. We have beautiful anchorages all to ourselves because we are sailing out of season in early March, after winter has just ended.
It's so nice to enjoy Greece alone.
We loved it - some of the best few weeks we've had in the Med!
Again nice one 🎉🎉🎉❤
Thanks Sam and Sheni 😊❤️
Yes, sometimes it's nicest to travel when the crowds are absent, and so I'm glad you got to experience that. I've anchored in precisely that same bay of Sifnos, and it definitely is lively.
Cheers, totally agree. Sometimes it means the weather isn't perfect, but when you do get a nice day it's magic! Hope you're enjoying Sifnos 😊
Awesome guys! Loved that ketch!!! Lot of maintenance there though! You must have been pretty sad to leave Greece, so beautiful😘💜⛵💜
Thanks Michelle 🥰 The ketch was pretty epic wasn't it, and the ship's cat to match 😻
