It's the usual PR bullshit. Insurance companies don't let actors do their stunts in the digital age when you can do face replacements onto stunt doubles and use CG doubles for hazardous stunts.

This was something that drove Tom Hardy crazy- as a more method-y actor, he found it aggravating to not be able to settle into a take because the shots were so short. But eventually he saw the genius of Miller's approach and surrendered to it.
yeah, sounds like it was a difficult movie to shoot for the actors. Combine that with the harsh conditions shooting in the desert
The fact that she went straight from LA to Abu Dhabi after getting back from Australia shows you how extremely motivated she was to act in more than one film, which is easy to understand when you're talking about a movie like Dune.

Even in Emma and the Queen's Gambit she got a little bloody. A certain bloody scene in the Northman was one of the more jaw dropping moments I've ever seen from a female character as well. She's real sharp and has a lot of different sides. Very talented young woman, and very committed. Hell of a career she's had already and she's only 28.

I really liked her before, but Furiosa made me love her. She did such a beautiful job of simultaneously portraying subtly and rage.

George Miller must really like that scene from “Network,” because he used it in the auditions for “Fury Road,” too. Abbey Lee, who plays the Dag in “Fury Road,” got the part after filming herself auditioning with it. The casting director said it was one of the greatest auditions she’d ever seen.

LOVE IT! Can't wait to see Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga!
First, I was skeptical about casting Taylor-Joy as Young Furiosa since she doesn't look like Charlize Theron in any way, not physically at least in stature (Theron is a 5'11-ish amazon that towers Taylor-Joy), facial features and eye color (Theron has striking green eyes) but the more I see, my brain is starting to get accustomed to Miller's choice. I hope that her performance makes me overlook the physical discrepancies between the actresses.
Tom Hardy looks nothing like Mel Gibson but no one seems to mention that
They have the most important thing in common: they are both beautiful ^^ As Taylor-Joy plays as young Furiosa, to me the size different quite makes sense. It just means she is still growing up.

A decade back, she was the fascinating new face out of A24's film. Look at her now. Such a humble yet very successful young adult actress of her generation. She has an incredible work ethic.
