That is so awesome of Jeffery and the other guy to help you guys. The red top looks so much better. Once you altered the blue top it looked really nice also. On the crimping thing I’m missing something because it just falls right out. Going to keep on trying though. I have managed though with just taking those tiny bites with my pins and wrapping my fabric around my finger before I pin it my sleeves come out with no tucks. Just a nice beautiful seam all the way around.
Yes, Yes, the alterations you made on your top made the world of difference in the fit and the way it looks on you. Seems like the fabric you have doesn't have any drape so every extra inch of extra fabric just sticks out. Glad you took the pleats out.
Love red on you! It was Janet Pray that I learned how to crimp from years ago on her Craftsy classes.
Your sewing is fun to watch, Joy. You get amazing fit because you know how to fix it when it doesn't fit properly. Your nice figure helps with achieving success as well.
Pretty blouse. I noticed, but I didn't think much about it's poofyness, until you fixed it, and mentioned it. It DOES look a LOT better. I'm going to look for that video. It sounds very interesting.
I think it was Vivmom that show how to crimp and you made a comment about how neat it was watching her!
Love all 3 of your blouses and thanks for teaching us new things!
I love that top. The colors are stunning. Looks really good on you. I have used that technique on sleeves for years. Works great!!!! Thanks
Love the tribute to your nephew! God bless him!
Beautiful blouse as are all of your blouses. You are so talented. I certainly would attend a sewing session with Joy but it would be a waste of your time because I’m no seamstress. Joy you inspire me so much. Thank you for sharing your talents .
Nice fabrics! Blues and roses are your favourites. Red is also becoming you. To get the markings back after you ironed the frixion ones, just put your item (fabric, paper) in the freezer for a few minutes. They come back. I tested it. If I am going to sew over the frixion marking I am even marking on the right side of the fabric. Always test on a scrap before doing! Pushing the pins twice in the fabric keeps them better in place. I prefer long fine pins. I learned about crimping fromyou, years ago, you were explaining Vivmom's technique. With a little testing and practice it works beautifully. Personally, I would add some vertical darts both in the front and in the back, ever so slightly, even if the pattern does not provide for them.
I think the blue top looks nice. I like the boldness of the blue.
Antihero informative video. Thank you Joy. I so enjoy spending time with you.
Crimping the sleeve? Always love your attitude and energy. Beautiful blouse, beautiful you.
Very cute blouse ! Pumpkin is perfect.
I love your blue blouse and it fits so nice!
Love your red top! ❤😊
love your top Simplicity 9274. The style and the colour suit you so well :) I have this pattern and you have inspired me to use it!
Jeffrey the Angel. Love it. Pretty blue blouse you're wearing.
I learned sleeve crimping from Peggy Sagers years ago. Probably you did as well. It’s a great technique! Thanks for continuing to teach it.
I love your pattern and that blue blouse! It looks amazing on you! The changes you made did make a big difference. I have that same pattern so I'll have to make those same adjustments. See? I always learn something from you!
Thank you for the videos Joy! I love everything you do!
Hi Joy. Do you have a pink top in this pattern too ? As if I'm not mistaken you had the same problem with the back on that one too. I think you should only have the pleat on the back with a stretch fabric that can really hang just like you said. Now it looks perfect on you. As I'm always saying, your clothes are always perfectly fitted on you. Makes me wish I was your neighbour so we can be sewing buddies 😊
I don't clip armholes either. A cut into the seam allowance can be the place where a tear starts from stress on the seam.these shoulders are perfect. No creases on back pleats. The V in the neck is perfect too.
You're right, Joy, that is beautiful fabric.
Hey Joy good to see you. I like your blue blouse and honestly I liked the red blouse that was long with frindges. Love your videos no matter what you talk about or show. BLESSINGS
Hey Miss Joy! Love your tops, you look beautiful! Safe trip back home! God bless y’all! 😀❤️🙏🏻
That shirt really turned out cute! It looks great with the white pants or the jeans. It does fit you better after you took out the pleat, although it really wasn’t that bad before. Love those sleeves. Love your videos, Joy! Always happy to see that blue dot by your name because it means you posted!
From what I have seen, wide back fabric from reputable companies is made from the same greige good as quilting cottons.
You look so adorable JOY in you blue w/ a pumpkin.🎃. That outfit looks really good on you. JOY please don’t work so hard especially Jerry. I want yall to be happy and healthy. Yall take care of yourselves. Love you Kris
The blue top is beautiful. I would press it down to the bottom
love ya Joy ~ sending warm wishes to Jerry, too!
I love that new blue blouse. I think the hem on your red top is too short, it could be an inch or two longer.
How did you fix the blouse? I liked it both ways and the first version didn't look too puffy. I love your videos.❤
I removed the pleat in the back.
Joy, love your sleeve method! Have you ever used a sleeve from a different pattern? If so, do you have tips or know of a video I could watch to help with that?
No, I don't use sleeves from different patterns. Peggy Sagers does that all the time. She has lots of videos about that. "Silhouette Patterns" on youtube.
Yes looks nice after you took it up.
Love the blue fabric. . I must've missed the last winner
Lovely top. 🇺🇸✝️🙏🇮🇱
I learned crimping from Janet Prey from Islander Sewing Systems.
Yes! I noticed the back was really too full! I think it needs to be about 1 or 2 inches shorter also
I missed seeing how you crimp the seam 1/2” from fabric edge. Where do I look to see that?
I've shown that many times in my videos. Viv has a video for that too. "Vivmom Sews". I'll show it again in my next video.
@Joy4650B yes I saw you and Viv crimp years ago but I can't find it in the many videos the two of you posted for us. I do recall the simplicity of the process but it helps to see it again and new viewers would be delighted and impressed. I know you are so busy and apologize for asking.... maybe I'll find it in another search....
Joy I am a Master Esthetician ( that shows I am old). I wonder about neck. The knife, works great. I work more than 50 years dooing Facials.😢 😢😢😅
Do you put notes on your patterns after you finish a garment>
Yes. I put a note on this pattern to remove the back pleat and put a center back seam.
instead of giving those items to goodwill. is there a group collecting items to send to north carolina. those folks have lost everything. they need anything they can get. can you donate those clothes to them.
I think they are getting more items than they can use. I would be thrilled to give the clothes, of course. Winter is coming though, and mine are not warm clothes.
Backing fabric is same quality as other quilt fabric. There are as many different types of base fabrics from manufacturer to manufacturer. She may choose a different base for her backing and if so then shame on her. Customers should be able to count on all your fabrics to be the same quality.
Yes, those purple markers need to be trashed. They can really ruin garments.
Also I think you learned crimping from Viv...
I was crimping long before I saw Viv do it. Probably 30 years.
