So informative, a MUST WATCH! 10 out of 10. I think an indoor market would be great for Bargoed. Thanks for all your posts. Real dedication for your followers to film in those conditions. I never knew there were riots in Bargoed.

Thank you, yes, August 1911, it's in the history books. It started in New Tredegar.

A great video to watch if you know Bargoed or have some connection with the town. We lived opposite the RAFA until 1962. Great to see the streets even in the wet.
You did a great job of being camera man, interviewer and commentator in pretty rough conditions.
    All the best

Thank you so much, still couldn't fit it all in. My next video of Bargoed will be next year when I come back from Poole, Dorset,.. and in better weather. I'll mention the notable people like Alan Hoddinott.

Thank you CJ. I don't know if you have seen my drawings but I plan to draw a picture of you with Elvis, I'd thought I would tell you first to see if you agree to it.

I am guessing that last school you mentioned was originally Bargod North Boys secondary. I went there for only about 9 months before being transferred to the fascist dictatorship of Ceri Edwards at Bargod Grammar. Despite that, I have a lot of fond memories of Bargoed. We left in 1970. By which time many of my Bargod North pals were already heading to mining school at age 14. Oh well! Too tall for that myself!

Yes, I used to buy records in that place (Jax Bar) in the late 60s. It was run by a young and friendly music enthusiast. Yeah, I believe he was called Smiler. He certainly lived up to that name. I used to buy early Fleetwood Mac singles in there.

@@tsl56 I know Smilers brother, his Nick name is Tigger, I see him in town and in Morrisons.
