I tried to get the Ja Morant look and I started off with longer hair so I did 2 strand twist, then took them out and let that lock up. Then I noticed that some of the locs were too big and I split them and it’s coming out pretty good
how long was your hair when you started?

I think you're talking about a sponge, do the spikey side for skinnier dreads, works so well for me

4-6 inches but time about 2-3 months for it to lock up. Don't wash for 5 months Tho

I have a question i hope you read this but how do you operate a tapered lining with locs ? Like will you have to get a tapered lining B4 locking or twisting anything up or will it formation into a tapered lining the more you twist & the more your hair grows out because the tapered lining with locks is 🔥 & it actually shows alot with hairstyles like this one for sure
If you doing semi-freeforms you should get your hairline tapered at the barbers before your hair starts to lock up. If your hair starts to section itself and then you get a tapered lineup, the locs at the front might lose some of their original section and grow too skinny at the base meaning it might snap off as it matures unless you combine them

@@jashawn243 semi-freeforms would be what this video described, starting your locs with either sponge/towel rub and then letting your sections & locs form naturally until they're mature enough to get proper retwists(assuming you want similar locs to the video)

@@jashawn243 Yea get your front taper before you start locking up, if you don't fully trust your barber section the front of your hairline yourself (tie your hair in a pineapple if you can and just try to only section your baby hairs) with a rat tail comb and just tell your barber to taper it down. Your hair might be too long to do locs with a sponge method though
