Oh dude, you are making me feel old. That's the same book I had back in 1983 when I was 8 years old. I also used to like to do a key combination which would open the code of the game, then I would modify the code in some way, then run the modified code and continue the game. These were good days, but after the NES came out, I shelved my spectrum, and never touched programming again until 2004.

That's awesome. I do wonder whether kids today would put up waiting 10 minutes for a game to load with nothing to watch but a flicking coloured border 🤣.
