I just finished The Sword of Kaigen and it is sooo good. It's not a light read but very original (to me) and a different kind of fantasy story. A mother's love for her children, grief and loss, the trials of marriage plus so much more.
You wont regret reading Priory of the Orange tree! As a person, who is just starting out with reading, this was my first book, as I wanted a challenge. I loved this book so much it made me want to continue my new years resolution and read as much as I can! I give it 5/5 stars!

The Deal is worth the read (or skim) for the couple's interactions. When the book focuses on the main couple its good but I'll admit I skimmed everything with their friend groups. Also the third act conflict is stupid but once again, the characters are worth it?!? There are so many better hockey romances but I did love this couple overall.
I’m an Alabama girly so football brings me immense joy. But I randomly picked up The Mistake or The Deal in 2016 (for some reason I want to say I read the 2nd book first without realizing.) Didn’t know a thing about hockey, not sure on what even compelled me to start reading.. but these authors put pure crack in hockey romance. You may not love it.. but I’ll be shocked if you aren’t in here asking for all the recs. I love other sports in sports romances too but hockey romances just hit different. Can’t explain it. But I know it’s science.

I feel like as popular as John Gwynne has become in recent years, he is still super underrated. The Faithful and The Fallen remains one of my favorite fantasy series. He does really well with old school sword & sorcery fantasy that isn't overly complicated. I really connect with his characters and think his first two series were so bingeable.
I also just ordered The Seven Year Slip after seeing all the hype about it so I really hope I love it too! also, the Hunger Games series is top-tier and probably one of my all-time favorite series
The seven year slip is so good!!! 🎉🎉 A shadow of the Gods is also on my 2024 list! I really enjoy Romantasy so I really want to give High Fantasy a shot in 2024!
Three books on my 2024 tbr are Murtagh by Christopher Paolini (It's been years since I read the other books), The inheritance games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes and definitely Crescent City 3 when it comes out.
If you’ve read throne of glass you don’t need to finish lady of darkness. I read all five books and I’m not sure why. But although many, many fantasies have similar plot lines, that one was too similar to throne of glass and wasn’t done as well. Just my opinion, others love it. Edited to add that trial of the sun queen is the real deal. Not super original but just done well. It’s a blast, and book 3 comes out in 2024 so it’s a good time to read it
I secured all the books in the Cruel Prince series so that will be my priority for 2024. I also got my first Ali Hazelwood book, Check and Mate so I can't wait to read that 🥳🖤
You will absolutely love The Way of Kings. Sanderson is on an even higher level in this series. Im pretty sure I've thought about this series every day since first finishing The Way of Kings.
oooo a study in drowning is also on my list!! also wuthering heights is not really enemies to lovers- it’s gothic the main couples is childhood best friends to lovers but there is another couple later on in the book that is my fav and is definitely enemies!! but the book itself, tho a romance, is more about human nature and revenge. It’s chaotic but so so good.

we have so many of the same books on our tbr for next year!! we’ll see if we stick to them 🤭 The Stormlight Archive series, is a series that I tried desperately to make a priority this year, but it’s actually no joke 😭 my one tip is to start The Way of Kings when you have a full weekend free, the lore, world building & just influx of knowledge straight from page one is nothing to mess about with! definitely recommend setting some time aside when you start that series! The Lady of Darkness series was one that I was desperately hoping you’d love, it has incredible action scenes, the most beautiful found family you could ever imagine & a really strong romance throughout. by no means is it the best series i’ve ever read, however I 100% reccomend giving it another go, and as you said, just get it out of your system 🤭 i’m also hoping you get around to Binding 13 next year, after watching your most recent video & knowing you love the Irish, I think it increases your chance of loving the series! 🤞🏼🎊🎉

i read the first 4 books of the blood grace series and loved every single one, it became a comfort series for me and the sequels are on my 24 in 2024 list too 🥺
Shadow of the Gods is Norse mythology inspired and can be a bit confusing and slow to start, but John's writing is superb. You may want to start with Malice though instead to get you used to his writing. Plus its complete. Jane Eyre (the michael fassbender adaption) is one of my favorite gothic romance movies of all time. I also want to read the book next year.
Just found your channel. Based on this tbr, I think our reading taste is very similar. I love lots of fantasy/romantasy. Instantly subscribed ❤ I have a few of the same books on my tbr that are on yours. But I definitely want to finish the SJM universe. I just finished ACOSF yesterday. And I need to read the Fourth Wing series. And I want to read Divine Rivals, because I keep hearing a lot about that book. So I think those are my immediate tbr.

I struggled with Blood Mercy, it's so slow😭 Maybe I need to keep pushing through since so many people seem to love it! And I adore Roshani Choski's writing style! You should read her book The Last Tale of the Flower Bride, it's so good 🎉
blood mercy is definitely slow! the second half definitely picked up for me but i totally get that! when i read the future books in the series i am going to listen to the audiobook as well to help me get through.
I started The Faithful and the Fallen series last year by John Gwynne and as I’m halfway through the last book now, I highly recommend that series from him. The characters have my whole heart (except the evil ones lol). I haven’t read the Shadow of the Gods yet but do own it, I w heard that series is very Viking. I’ll be curious to hear what you think.
I heard of you want to read ever king to start with the broken kingdom series. It can be read as a stand alone but I heard it’s better when you read everything. The only thing is that it’s 9 books 😢 all around 300 pages at least. The first book is interesting so far!
No spoilers but I wouldn’t say that wuthering heights is enemies to lovers😅I love the book and its so beautiful but its also very dark and can be unpleasant at times because of the characters and themes (imo that’s what makes it so good) Just want you to go in with the right expectations 😅😅😅
I personally am going to re read all of gillyan Flynn chronologically (only 4 or so book). I am a massive fan of her books and it's been a few years since I read her books so I'm hoping my memory has faded enough that I'll enjoy the re reads lol. Also personally I despise wuthering heights lol so I would highly recommend dnf ing if you find yourself not liking it as it doesn't get better lol

The Seven Year Slip contains some stuff about…unaliving yourself that’s incorrect and harmful and it’s not corrected. I don’t ever see anyone mention that trigger warning when it’s a big part of the book that an adult made a child feel responsible for making her want to stay alive. It’s just not something readers should be surprised with.
I love your book taste except ACOTAR. That series disgust me. The mortal instruments is great though! I read it in school! Really amazing. The city of souls book was not available in this edition I our library. I was so sad! I got like a red paperback instead so im happy for you haha

The Hunger Games was a little overhyped to me. However, the second movie was great. I’m just a weirdo that preferred the movies. 😂 oh and the Graham Effect was my favorite by Elle Kennedy.

I would not prioritize The name of the wind, because it is a book from trilogy... which do not have an ending. Rothfuss has not written last book in that trilogy in 16 years and there is no guarantee that he will ever write it. His priorities has been elswhere (like in novellas that no one cares about). So, if i would be you, i would read other books from your list before that, because in my opinion it is a waste of time to read a book from trilogy which still is not finished after 16 years and who knows if it will ever be finished. What is the point to start and invest your time and emotions in reading that when there is no ending, no conclusions.

Holy shit, I’ve never heard of the blood grace series so I looked it up. The main girl character’s name is my name…😮 (pronounced slightly differently). With a more unique name I’m not used to seeing it just out there!
The Hunger Games was a little overhyped to me. However, the second movie was great. I’m just a weirdo that preferred the movies. 😂 oh and the Graham Effect was my favorite by Elle Kennedy.

I would not prioritize The name of the wind, because it is a book from trilogy... which do not have an ending. Rothfuss has not written last book in that trilogy in 16 years and there is no guarantee that he will ever write it. His priorities has been elswhere (like in novellas that no one cares about).
So, if i would be you, i would read other books from your list before that, because in my opinion it is a waste of time to read a book from trilogy which still is not finished after 16 years and who knows if it will ever be finished. What is the point to start and invest your time and emotions in reading that when there is no ending, no conclusions.
I want to recommend Guardian of the Maidens series by Michael Beck… first book is Divine Blood…. It is soooo good! Please check it out!

i recommend reading ACOTAR first ☺️ my preferred throne of glass reading order is: the assassins blade, throne of glass, crown of midnight, heir of fire, queen of shadows, empire of storms, tower of dawn, kingdom of ash.
