How to Find and Recover Facebook Messages

- If you deleted a Facebook message in messenger, there are ways to recover it. Let's go through a couple of ways of recovering deleted conversations on Facebook messenger.
One of the easiest options is by looking at archive conversations on Facebook messenger. Oftentimes, messages are not deleted and are instead archived. So if you look under the archive tab in messenger, you may be able to find and recover those conversations.
If that method didn't get your results, you can download your entire messages archive on Facebook. Facebook stores everything you have ever done on the social media platform including your messenger activity.
The download of your Facebook archive option under the Facebook setting, allows you to download all your activities. You can choose messages as one of the archive options and you will see every message you ever sent and received on Facebook, even the ones you deleted.

It's not retrieving old messages just current ones

This DOES NOT recover deleted messages. It only shows archived and current. You can do this for Snapchat, Instagram and any other social network.

Only downloads messages THAT ARE ALREADY THERE. Not deleted ones...
how about picture's that you send in the messenger, can be also retrieve.??
what if you want to read the messages in the download information but in another account not in your main account ? or it should be your main account to view the messages the i deleted.

if you get the zip file,how do you extract it? I got the email and downloaded a 5GB file fb sent me but I downloaded it to a portable hard drive that I could not extract the files. Another time I did not see the files that I was looking for from a few friends that I just possibly accidently deleted. How can you tell if in fact the fb messages were deleted or not from a few selected friends which may have happened just yesterday? the file sent to my email did not show the messages from the friends that I received or sent messages on fb messenger going back several years, all messages are gone and I cannot find them from a few specific friends?

Trying the same here but the file says pending after 10 minutes, do I have to access the link from his email to open the file?
@@mooncake2193 It took me 3 hours then u get notification from facebook and u open it and download it. This only works if messege was archived. if he deleted it u will never recover it
This only downloads a written copy. Doesnt get deleted ones back.

Facebook doesn’t allow to recover deleted messages..
All those who make videos for that purpose are crap..
Only archived n current messages will show according to this method..

Your phone cannot do that work. It's too big for a phone.
I accidentally deleted a whole convo witch had important things in it and can’t log into the other account for some reason so unless this gets them back then I’m fucked

+DEATH WISH depends. It can take up to a couple of days. Mine took 8 hours for a full archive
there's no download copy in my settings in general
It has changed, it is now under "Your Facebook Information"

I tried both ways and still cannot grow any of the messages that I deleted .... I followed each instruction and nothing... Also the messages weren’t even deleted long, I literally deleted them on accident yesterday so I don’t get how it could just disappear and have no possible trace or way to retrieve them back... Why Facebook doesn’t have a “Deleted Message” folder or a “Trash” folder is well beyond me .... Did anybody else not have any luck???
