How to Upload LONGER VIDEOS to Instagram Stories

You can upload videos longer than 15 seconds to the Instagram story by using an app that will cut your longer video down to 15-second segments.
The app is called Cutstory. Here is the process.
Record the video using your camera app. Don't record using Instagram.
Then download and launch the CutStory app.
In the app, choose the video and select Instagram. This will cut the video down to 15-second portions.
Launch Instagram and post all the videos that are 15 seconds in the correct order to your story.

Is there not a way to make an actual continuous story?? I add a filter and music to all of my stories... but even when I record them simultaneously it splits them into 2 completely separate videos. So if I add music and a filter to one, it doesn’t apply it to the second one!! There has to be a way around this, there’s no way they’d make it this difficult

Why on earth is IG so restrictive ? I Dont want to use my camera just want to upload a video longer than 30 seconds on my stories! How hard is that for these people to implement this !!! This is the reason why apps like ticktock are killing IG!! The lack of freedom to create a video NOT from my camera but from my phone natively without it being broken up into pointless little segments is beyond ridiculous! And to top it off, I cant even use the music I want ?? Ticktock gives you this option and a choice to have a longer video straight out of your phones archive. So anoying makes you want to give up on the damn thing! STOP with the restrictions Instagram!!! You've got the money to pay for licences to popular music make vids/stories longer straight out the box, make the whole video segment thing an option, not a standard in the IG mechanics, and stop f□cking around. Wtf!

How did you get the video option to pop up when you went into your story? What did u click on because it doesn't seem to work for me. Plus, if i download a video to my photos gallery from snapchat it should be able to be uploaded to my story right? & lastly, if i upload a video from my gallery (or record one live) in the morning, and then want to upload another video later in the day & one at night will that work since its all within 24hrs?

It sure would be nice if IG would just let you post longer stories. Also, it would be nice if they allowed copy and paste and open up links, it's all so annoying to me. Oh, one more thing, why don't they have a bigger area to see what you're typing? Mine shows about 4 to 5 words at a time. Never fails I type something wrong, have to delete the whole thing and retype it because they also don't allow editing. IG needs to revamp itself.

For androids we don’t need to download the app bcs the Instagram’s stories post the whole video by itself !!!
