I always write head gear as an adult. Over ten years of playing it probably saved me from a couple of concussions but maybe also a dozen cuts from head on head collisions.
The player you were asking about is Timoci Tavatavanawai. He's from Fiji and plays for Moana Pasifika in the Super Rugby Pacific competition that features the best teams from Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Samoa (including players from Tonga). In the 2022 season he lead the competition stats in defenders beaten: 73 in 8 games.
Helmets just increase head collisions, it’s like a false sense of security. I’m a rugby player, and when I watch the NFL every hit has the sounds of helmets colliding, it’s nuts. I would love to play a game of American football though. It’s gotta be fun hitting someone wearing all those pads, with the understanding that runner isn’t going to pass the ball (like rugby). You must be able to just line him up and smash-em. Brutal.
4:38 that's what happens if you keep your head up and in the wrong place in rugby union or rugby league. Nfl is a totally different sport when tackling and because of how the game is played the different types of tackling techniques required given the different types of tackling opportunities. Rugby you have to put your head down but positioned on either side of the attacking player because after all most rugby tackles are predominantly made head on and obviously without any helmet or protection gear. If you where to keep your head up when executing a front on tackling in rugby you'd be more inclined to do yourself a neck/spinal injury.8:17 great example of how a head on tackle should be made.
At 9:02 number 2 in the pink is the Tongan Thor. You say that the other guy isn't a wall, but he won: the bump was enough to cause Taniela Tupou to put his foot on the touch line, which is out. The black team now get the ball.
That was a good reaction, Rugby League isn't just about the big hits there is also a lot of skill. Can you do a reaction to Shaun Johnson The Lightning Footwork Warriors he plays NRL and is known for his side stepping (jukes) he played for the New Zealand team the Warriors here is a link ua-cam.com/video/o9d_d_FbKGU/v-deo.html you will like this as he is also a playmaker and kicker, has the highest points for New Zealand in international games and also Warriors highest point scorer, enjoy.
@@laurenzhuber386 did you mean that double negative, meaning that every NFL athlete has a chance in rugby? I'm gonna assume that ur too stupid to realise that... Ever heard of Perry Baker? Former NFL player who's now one of the best 7s players in the world.
In rugby its tackling is totally different. Because rugby is a sport for all shapes, you are taught to go down low to try and stop your opponent the first time. Rugby players alao generally think about getting hurt, they just go in. Its a great sport
I played rugby all through high school. I've got two shoulders that dislocate on a regular basis to this day. Nothing feels better than putting a big hit on someone. The general rule is the harder you go the less you get hurt. Yes us Aussies are crazy 🤣 The Rugby union fellas are even crazier!
Great reaction ❤ If you haven't already, can you please check out some female rugby. I recommend "The vicious side of woman's rugby" also by Die Hard Rugby 😊
it would be cool bro if rugby players play american football players in a game just like jake paul fighting ufc fighters , im from new zealand so rugby is the hart of nz the all blacks team , but i know u american boys can hit very hard in games with the saftey pads on so it would be so interesting to see it happen bro and this was a good reaction bro i enjoy ur content
At 8:16 when Hooper clears out the ruck what was he penalised for? He came from behind last feet and was on his feet so that should be legal yeagh? Or did he come at an angle?
You should look into Rugby 7s too. It's tournament play. Multiple matches a day and more spread out and faster pace. It's 7v7 for 2 7 minutes halves a game. It's also what you see in the Olympics. Usa had the 2 fastest players to play Carlin isles is probably faster than tyreek hill and perry baker
Only half of these are brutal tackles. The other half are foul play. Lots of no-wrap tackles, lots of shoulders to the head. The last dude? Wtf. A huge chunk of these are just straight red cards.
You should see the brutal slap that Faf duPlessis gave Australia's Nicole White,"THE WHITE PRINCESS"His knees literally buckled!!!it's worth watching.Trust me!
So many of these hits are obviously illegal. Watch the ref blow the whistle on so many. I suggest you check the rules, watch some games, take note of the refs decisions.
The skull caps offer little to no protection from collisions its mainly so you dont get cauliflower ears
It also helps protect your head if it hits the fround

Tackle Head down and to the side of the body is how rugby players are taught to tackle, it is to protect you
Half of these would be red cards in today's rules. Much rather prefer to see big legal hits. But nice to see an American appreciating rugby!

The haka before the match is definitely intimidating...love it
I Love seeing all the Polynesian countries do their own war cry before a match. 👊👌

These hits are MUCH better than NFL hits!
The most impressive part of the tackle at 6:12 was that he stripped the ball at that pace.
Good video. Just imagine how good the States would be if rugby had the popularity of the NFL.
Yeah they’d be pretty damn good considering the athletes they have in the NFL
haha no nfl athletes have no chance in rugby thats just the truth

8:16 Illegal. Leading with the shoulder is a dangerous cleanout at the ruck. A clear yellow card minimum. Direct contact to th ahead is often a Red

Yeah I'd love to see that too
Me too
Take the American's padding away and they'll crumble in a real rugby game
Its josua tuisova bro hes got a crazy highlights package
You need to review Fin Russell highlights
At 8:16 when Hooper clears out the ruck what was he penalised for? He came from behind last feet and was on his feet so that should be legal yeagh? Or did he come at an angle?
Mate, you have no idea no idea how much is the difference between NFL and rugby. The rugby world Calls NFL "rugby for girls".
Definitely
9:46 the dude grabbed the other players ball's that what the reaction was about.
React to Josua Tuisova bro.
01:30 You need to do a reaction to Christian Cullen, one of the best fullbacks ever.
Its good that he plaued American Football so he can appreciate the physical side of this game.

React to ‘rugby hits - till I collapse’ (has Eminem music background) 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Just as a suggestion for your channel rugby league is a lot more physical and at times faster pace
I second that. League is awesome.
League sucks. Union rules. Jk
Although if you want fast pace you should watch sevens
dudes name is timoci tavatavanawai
No 11 is called tavetavenawai. Plays for Moana pasifika
So many of these hits are obviously illegal. Watch the ref blow the whistle on so many. I suggest you check the rules, watch some games, take note of the refs decisions.
Do rieko ioane
most of the tackles by the pacaific islanders, in this these clips, are now yellow or red card offences
It dosent really matter about putting your head down but just make the tackle 😂😈
Yeah na bruh sounds like you don't no nothing bout tackling running nothing waist the time
Rugby is not brutal... ...
Definitely can be.
