Another good show!! As an officially 1 week retired 21 years of service VA R.N and already missing my Vets looking forward to your Thursday show with the Marines. Hopefully when hubby who is also a Vet and I relocate to TV I can do some volunteering for the Vets especially assisting with navigating the VA healthcare system as my now former job title was that of care coordinator. And believe me for the Vets, navigating the VA healthcare system can be very complex and confusing.
Congrats on your retirement. I cried off and on for 6 months. Missed my work, friends, being useful and even the stress. Worked in healthcare in a Human Resources role. But once I recovered from the feeling of loss, I loved being retired even more. Best wishes.
As a nurse myself, and more importantly a sensitive person, I think that your offer to help our vets is outstanding!! Best of luck when you and hubby move to the Villages. After 43 years on my feet, my tootsies (feet), are relieved lol. I am training to be a hospital minister, but covid is slowing that plan down...
Jerry and Linda: We always enjoy your shows, even though we will never consider retiring to Florida. We live in Minnesota, and we are already older than you guys are, and it looks like we will be stuck here forever. Thanks for what you do.
Thank you Linda and Jerry for all the information on the Villages. We have a lot more videos to watch since we just started watching your channel today. We are newly retired and considering the Villages or renting for vacation to learn more . I appreciate your "Down to Earth " personalities and hope to meet more people like you when we visit. Gizmo is a cutie pie! Brenda and Kurt
Jerry when you talk about KFC all i can think about is my Dad who passed away 6 years ago. That was his favourite take out food even when he was in the hospital the last few weeks of his life he would call me and ask if i could pick him up KFC it just made him so happy. Love your show. I can't get over how big the Villages really are. Would love to visit one day.
Good show today, but it always is. I just love to listen to you . I can just imagine what great school teachers you were. I would have been happy for you to have taught my girls or grand children. I will be watching for Thursday. Love you guys.
Linda’s hair looks beautiful..can’t even see the kitchen condiments 😁! Giz wanted to chime in on the many excellent topics today..love how he tucks his little paws 🐾 and no surprise he has his entourage of puparazzi : ) Looking forward to Toto Washlet demo too 👀😁 Thanks for sharing as always 💓🙂🐾
😻😻😻Thanks again for sharing. Gizmo is so smart🥰. He figures eventually I’ll get some treats 😁. Nice haircut, Jerry 😉. Linda, those layers make you look younger 😉. Appreciate you both 😘.
The first snowbirds we know--our nextdoor neighbors in Tampa--just arrived this morning. We have more arriving in the next week or two. Time to get the party started!
Linda and Jerry and Gizmo, I am watching the videos you all made back when you first started your channel🙂 I must say I do like the shout-outs at the end of your show rather than the beginning. However lol I would watch your show either way from the start to the finish🙂 I've been to Florida to visit when I was younger. I don't live there now either, but you 3 are so fun to listen to🙂 Sorry some salty folks get their britches in a bunch. We shall wish them a more unbunched pair of britches in the future lol Continued success and prosperity there in TV 🤗💗
Hey Jerry, Linda. I got a Toto washlet about 20 years ago. When I first got it my wife thought I had lost my mind. Thought it was the funny thing she had ever seen but about two months later she told me that she doesn't know how we got along without one all of those years. She absolutely loved it.
Good show as always. I believe the wife and I would really enjoy all the activities. The wife wants to be the snowbirds. We will see as we get closer to retirement. Thank you for sharing with us everything happening in the villages.
In relation to heat, I think Florida makes the bigger difference in May and September. Average high in Louisville in the hottest part of the summer is 89, while down there in the Villages, average high is 92. But in May, Louisville's average high is 77, while it's 89 in the Villages. And then in Septemeber, you get 82 degrees in Louisville, while still 89 in the villages.
Just an FYI: I was born in Shelbyville, IN. Linda your hair looks very nice. Thank you for your show. I always thought The Villages was up just near Ocala. Didn't realize how HUGE The Villages Community actually is. Looking possibly into a Lifestyle Visit this next Summer. All three of you are so blessed. Love you Gizmo! You are such a handsome fella!
I use my neighborhood pool a lot and go to water aerobic classes at the sports pools! Love socializing with my "Pool Pals" in the neighborhood pool. As far as the heat is concerned, I'd rather be here "shovelin' sunshine" than up on Long Island shovelin' freezing, cold snow! Gizmo is adorable as always!
Canadarago Joe again You did a good job showcasing your Bidet. The ones that we have don’t require electricity and are less expensive than your model but seem to get the job done. I like Gizmos sound effects during your show. They remind me of the noise emanating from my stomach after one to many bean burritos 😎
Eager to get out of ILLinois! When we got to Florida last January for our winter getaway it was like that scene in Wizard of Oz when it goes to technicolor. Amazing how two states can have such radically different ways of living, especially during the pandemic.
Hi Linda and Jerry. Michael and I are back in NY. THANK YOU SO VERY VERY MUCH for graciously joining us for Lunch last Monday. I will be catching up with you two on YT right now. The Metro Diner was absolutely fantastic, great pick. We took a friend of ours there for breakfast who had never gone before. Also another place we went for the first time was KeKe's. We hope to return Thanksgiving time to visit our home ... and again hopefully we can meet up with you two again. XOX, health and peace, Vicky & Michael
The difference with the summer in Florida is that it lasts half the year, the humidity can be brutal and it doesn't really cool off at night. It can be hotter elsewhere in the country, but those are sprints, summer in Florida is a marathon.
We moved into a golf course community in Maine and at the community pool where I have met people. I get in my golf cart and go every sunny day, I wouldn’t want my own pool…..
🤣🤣🤣I had a headache and my eyes were closed as I listened to you both. I open my eyes and I see an eye on your foreheads 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I can’t stop laughing, and my headache is better now so thank you both 💕💕💕🤣🤣🤣
My niece who resides in Indiana told me the cost to just heat her pool was $2000 for the summer. She cut that because who needs a heated pool in Indiana? Then there’s cleaning and chemicals. Their pool is huge. Largest private pool I’ve ever seen. Another great “show”.
Always love you guys!! We looked at Florida and found the prices too high. We decided on puerto Vallarta. Just had dinner at a taco stand. Passion fruit juice two birra tacos with salsa for $2.40. Delicious. We bought a condo in downtown within blocks of the beach for $320k . With ocean view. Be brave and explore options. I’ll send you pix if you wish. It’s beautiful
I would like to have my own pool, as I like to swim at night, before sunrise etc. With community pool, they close at the time designated...Swimming under the stars is the best. Love Monday's and checking in with you'all, and Gizmo!
My husband's an original recipe KFC kinda guy. Regarding the heat, our city's tall buildings throw off a lot of heat from air conditioning. This was one of the hotter summers we've had in years.
Good Morning 🌴 Our Grandparents recently moved to the Villages. We are excited to come visit this spring 🤞 What about kids rates for golf? Can they rent clubs? What courses would you recommend? Any disc golf courses in the villages? We enjoy the content and learning more about their new hometown. Much love from WI
Great as always, we went to Switzerland in 2009, everywhere is a Postcard. We went to many Places and this is where we discovered the High Tech Toilet. Canadian Tourists in a Bathroom taking pictures of Toilets, good times. Have a great week.
Jerry and Linda you just can't beat some Kentucky Fried Chicken several in Lexington here eat there often but I gotta go with 4 piece original with extra biscuits and mashed taters....yum.
Canadarago Joe again You mention how hot it gets at times in the Villages. Six months of the year I live in Sarasota and very rarely use the air conditioner. We are a couple miles from the Gulf of Mexico and almost always have a breeze coming in. When outside if you can find a shady spot the hottest day is tolerable. When inside we keep our windows open and enjoy the fresh air moving through without any discomfort. I think the central areas of Florida do heat up more than the coastal area due to the lack of sea breeze
Barbara goes to the Lion’s Club just off 301 on Fridays- she gets there at 8:30 to socialize and set up - Bingo doesn’t start until 10am- goes until 2 or 3 she says- they stop for lunch and they sell pretty good food for lunch. Bingo at Lion’s club on Saturday’s too
Our solution to the hot humid summers was to buy a golf cart with air conditioning. You wouldn't buy a car without A/C, in The Villages your golf cart is also your car when traveling within the Villages therefore you need a cart with A/C.
"it's not the heat, it's the stupidity" LOL. I am in pike co pa. last winter was bad.. when looking for my home was well aware I realized I did not want to live in a community w the rules and regulations. how did you adjust? I have ppl who mow and remove snow..worth it!
Thanks for another great show! Wow! You can play an executive course for as low as $7 a round! Back in college '81-'84 we played the town's executive course for $7 a round, and that might have been the student price. The University of Maryland has a championship course too, but it's 18 holes and they're all up hill!
Jerry, now that I said that and told my husband, he pointed out that executive greens fees are included with residents monthly amenity fee. So who pays the $7? Guests with a guest pass?
VICKIE FROM SWITZERLAND - If you were asking about the total homes in The Villages, there are about 68,000. This number include apartments. Hope you don't mind me jumping in, Jerry and Linda. :)

So I wondered why all the ads today were about bidets! Speaking of ads I think you said you get a little kickback from ads? Do we have to watch the whole ad in order for you to get "credit"? Thanks again for the info!
We did not watch the show after it aired. That is odd… that there were any ads about by days. I guess having that word in the title prompted advertisers to buy ads on our video. As for whether viewers need to watch the ads or skip through them… we have no idea. We don't know much about the process to tell you the truth. I would assume the more ads that get watched the better it is for us, but that's just a guess.
I’ll be a resident of FL Oct 17th … not the Villages :/ it’s a FAMILY move for now ! I plan on visiting when I’m settled ! I’m so excited that I’m selling my winter ❄️ gear at our garage sale ! Downsizing is BRUTAL … I can’t believe how many pictures I have 😳
