@@splasherr9717 Smart Pistol was introduced to Titanfall with the first game which came in 2014 it also was in the second game which came in 2016. Cyberpunk came in 2020 so no Titanfall was first.

Not to mention it has a fire rate of 15, meaning there’s no limit to how fast it can fire. The only thing holding you back is how fast you can spam the trigger.

I switched to one lock on emptied clip on him, took his shield, next lock on should bring him to his death or to about like less than half white health. It’s also good to note that a full lock on deals 100 damage - meaning a person rebooted and gliding is a free kill.

The main reason is hitscan. So its pure skill and aim
The lock-on pistol is great for easy damage and tracking enemies, but it's not as easy to use as it seems. It's like the smart pistol from Titanfall, powerful but takes skill to master.

I also believe, in a season full of crazy mobility, that lock on effect to do an easy 100 damage is extremely helpful in beaming people rotating with either a Shockwave, Grapple Blade, or the TMNT mythics. The Lock-On Pistol seems like a weapon that requires no skill at first glance, but happens to be one of the more skill-demanding weapons out there.
In the start of a game it’s overpowered. In just 1-2 seconds you can lock on and kill someone with no problem. Especially in my spawn fencing fields to punish players that start attacking nisha early.
It takes iq not skill
I love the smart pistol, but don't cope and say it takes skill. It hardly takes any skill, let alone some of the most compared to anything else. The riot shield takes more skill than the smart pistol
@@thedecentgamer7818 I'll have to respectfully disagree. Half the time I'm using the lock on pistol, I'm not actually locking onto others. I'm using the fact that it's a hitscan weapon to my advantage. Not everyone has 2 whole seconds to lock on all their bullets onto an opponent. And for people using mobility items like Shockwaves or Crash Pads, it's lock on is extremely helpful. The skill is being able to lock on in the first place, not the fact that the lock on itself it's all it's shots. I hope that makes since
@@Lit-C well you're using it sub-optimally then. At the range that it's not locking on, you'd be better off using a sniper or dmr. And if you're within lock-on range, there's not really a reason not to lock on. If you're just gonna shoot it normally, you'd be better off using an assault rifle, smg, or normal pistol. Just due to the higher dps
The lock on pistol can lock on to people hiding in bushes, so it's good for finding people who you can't see.
I fired 40 SNIPER SHOTS at a fella and missed because I could never nail the drop off 🤦♂️
For me I like using it early game or when someone is gliding in on me to get some early damage.
Imagine you ask someone what they do and they say they are a professional fortnite player.
A lot of people also don’t know the fact that it has a fire rate of 15 shots per second, meaning that if you had the fastest clicker finger on the planet, you could empty a mag into somebody in less than a second.

actualy at the re-launch of it, it was dropoff but due to its inablilty for the lock-on mechanic to cope with this shots that "locked on" missed so they removed bullt drop for only this gun so it still works as a lock on and not a wet noodle gun

And usually they let you do full scan so 100 damage and you get to watch them panic lol

My personal reason for liking it is because of one detail that seems small but can and will save you if you use it to your advantage…it can see through bushes...trust me when you play exclusively zero build this makes a difference.
You can shoot players from inside a bush, shoot players who are inside bushes, and shoot enemies through bushes and in zero build mode, bushes can be some of the best natural defense you can find by obscuring your position to your enemies and making them unsure of where to hit. The double edged sword being that its also hard for YOU to hit enemies. But with a lock on that’s not a problem. Plus even if you don’t want to reveal your position, you can still use it to track if enemies are nearby while hiding inside a bush.
Also i would add that it gives a big like "Scared" effect around opponents screens

Another perk of using the gun is when aiming at an opponent within a certain range and firing, the enemies screen begins a vignette effect, dimming the screen making it harder to see
Its overpowered in zero build and you can destroy someone who is not within the premise of a viable spot to protect themselves

Feels like the same programming for the M13 from MW 2019.
Despite it not hitting very hard, it was an absolute laser beam. Out performing other newly added guns.
And in a tournament mode it is actually pretty good at getting syphon especially in small circles

From what I've seen from players is they use the lock on for fast paced attack, like Chasing after someone while you use the pistol makes it harder for the opponent to get to cover long enough to reload and or heal up. Personally haven't seen many people use it for long range
Everybody gets mad about the smart pistol but u still have to wait for it to lock the headshot, already could've tank'd 3 mastiff shots in that time

I don't think that's bloom, that may be the auto-targeting, as you can see the bullet tracer curve before it hits direct center of mass

@@RealUnHoly if that's so, then bloom rng there was being funky, all 3 non-headshots traveled downwards and hit roughly shoulder height each time.
Before this season it was also insanely busted, doing 25 at any range, 50 to the head at any range, and having absolutely 0 recoil. Not to mention the sight on it being the tiny dot making shots easier, and the locking mechanic was also way faster and guaranteed headshots on every shot. So essentially you could hold it for 3 seconds and obliterate someone.
I love how the bullets are just curving like a pitch
It’s also great as it can substitute for a shot gun because you can spam fire and the bullets will lock on to the closest person without you needing to aim

Honestly the lock-on pistol is proving to be quite useful now that everyone is flying around thanks to the new mythics that have been added.
What do you even mean?
This is a very underrated gun I decided to pick it up in an elite ranked game (this was my rank up game to champs) and when I got to end game I was getting easy tags from 50-75-125 damage on players and it helped me win.
Having a slot for a sniper or shotgun, heals, and two lock on pistols is actually really good.

I came back for chapter 5 after only ever having played some of chapter 3 before, and I knew something felt different with the gunplay. I didn’t realize they only just now added bullet drop (and slower bullets) this year. Apparently I was taking my straight sniper shots back in chapter 3 for granted. I’m definitely not as good now 😂
Lock on pistol can let you detect mole rats in bushes which is a huge good factor of this gun

The lock on effect actually works really well in zero build
ALSO can lock on to enemies who are sat in a bush. Especially useful in zero build mode.

I honestly dont mind having it instead of an smg. It doubles as a medium range weapon and frees up an inventory slot for heals or mobility.
It’s actually very strong in zero build, you can also use it when players are gliding and guarantee a kill almost every time
