One thing I'll note is that it looks more like our mount glides/parachutes a bit rather than flies. It's wings don't seem to be really big enough for flight, even by fantastical Monster Hunter universe standards.
makes sense there a few gliding big and small monsters and even gliding dinosaurs similar to the mount in the trailer already. also it glides similar to how early birs would have glided
My theory is that there's one huge map and the biomes shift between hunts and in real-time while on expedition, so you could drop in the southern area and it'd be a desert, and then you run to the eastern side to hunt something, then run back to the south 15 minutes later and a snowstorm has rolled in and turned it into a tundra.

What if, since those bear things seem so aggressive, they are actually a large monster, they individually have smaller health pools but you need to kill every one in the pack to consider the “monster” slain
I was going to say this too! Like the whole large monster limits things to one monster many times. A pack of medium monsters would be an awesome upgrade! Like fighting a pack of hyenas! Definitely adds some variety to the gameplay and need to focus on weapon skills that match the group fights. I hope this is what is happening!
A traveling camp would absolutely make sense for an open world MH. Instead of predetermined campsites to rest/restock you basically pick your own that's amazing. I am curious about the dual load out thing and how they'd implement it. Still have over a year for more news and announcements so I'm still holding my breath for a new weapon type also.

But the title them i didnt hear the hunter fanfare BUT i heard a mix of it with abit of monster hunter stories theme. what if its mixture can choose to hunt witha monster as both sides used weapons just one worked with monsters.
I think the new flagship is going to be a new Snake Wyvern, if you look at the symbol you can see two snakes woven in the logo when you fully see it, it would be very cool to finally get a new monster of an almost forgotten group of monsters in the series.
OH GOD I FRACKING HOPE SO!! NAJARALA AND DALAMADUR ARE TWO OF MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE MONSTERS IN THE WHOLE FRANCHISE AND IVE NEVER EVEN GOTTEN TO EXPERIENCE EITHER DUE TO BEING A WORLD BABY!! I *NEED* A SNAKE WYVERN IN THIS NEW GAME OMG
The vibe I got from this is the the hunter is constantly in danger from the monsters and weather. I love this idea that there is stuff you just have to run from because it's too dangerous. Imagine the strategy or preparation needed if to hunt one creature you had to stalk a pack and then lure one away because fighting them all at the same time is simply too dangerous
That could be interesting. World made me a afraid to approach monster sometimes, rise not so much. Having to avoid particularly dangerous monsters or seperate out packs would be a very fun mechanic, maybe an expanded version of previous tracking systems?
Gaijinhunter actually pointed out that while that first area does look like a desert what's actually happening at the end is all the dust from the storm is getting blown away to reveal the grass underneath. If you look closely you'll even notice the grace sticking up from beneath the sand the whole time at various points. The dust/sandstorm might be a central mechanic of this games elder flagship or something if it's being so prominently featured in this first reveal. Maybe it's a storm dragon that flies around changing the weather in a given biome or something.
My immediate thought when seeing the logo, with the almost woven circles, was a Norse theme, especially with the logo being a very long snake, but the way it’s styled actually looks very typical Aztec design, which does also feature a mythological giant snake Side note, those definitely looked like Goss Harag, the way they moved and the red face, fighting herds of monsters would be so cool
If you look closely at the end there, the trees don't actually grow leaves nor does the grass suddenly sprouts from the sand, it was all covered in dust, dust that was presumably blown a way by a gust of wind from the storm that our hunter just escaped from.
Others have brought up how the more dynamic weather/environment can make fights with elder dragons and other more influential monsters a more threatening experience. A Lunastra throwing out heatwaves in her home turf is one thing, but in a desert where she can superheat the sand or close to a water source that results in scalding steam? That'd make for some intense fights and gives the player more thought on where and when to confront their target.
I thick it would be really cool if elemental attacks Interact with environment. For example in wet area's thunder attacks would have increased range. Or Ice could freeze water/mug stopping you from getting slowed. So get the monster in the right environment would be just as important and having the right items
What would the element of dragon act on an environment like would it tear up the ground would it explode in descriptions it’s said the the energy tears into wounds causing pain
It could really lend elders a greater sense of power as well. These are walking natural disasters so they say. And while they feel strong sure, they don't feel THAT strong. So imagine if every elder had a version of chameleos' fog or amatsu's storms. Now all of them influence the actual weather rather than just having it as a gimmick mechanic you may or may not really interact with. Except kirin, kirin can skip a few more games. Or every future game. It could create interesting loadout opportunities to specialize hunting in certain conditions. Sandstorm masks, raincoats, weighted slim armor to help you resist strong winds, a rebreather to protect against airbourne toxins or a special suit for hazardous liquids. More than just slotting a gem to deal with something.
@Wonderofvin dragon often works like an anti element, so it could stop other elements' interactions from happening or remove special effects from the area.
Its worth pointing out that there is a scoutfly cage on the Hunters belt AS WELL AS A slinger on his left arm! I don't know if that is definitely a feature in wilds or if it's just style but I loved the slinger as a feature (not including thhe clutch claw) and I would love to see it return
I would love to see the clutch claw return, but only if it has some serious nerfs in how frequently it can be used and nerf the opportunity of its usefulness. It's amazing to knock a monster into a wall or wound it, but being able to do it all the time with little risk takes too much away from the rest of the game. As for the slinger and scout flies, I can't hardly imagine Monster Hunter without them. They just add so much immersion.
I think underwater combat would be very possible here if it’s an open world like horizons maybe also the way that the Wilds mirrors below itself almost like on a water surface and the way the logo appeared like a wave it seems to me like that hints at underwater returning which would fit super well into an open world. Also there is a pretty clear 6 to be seen in the logo so thats cool getting the confirmation. I‘M SO UNBELIEVABLY HYPED! I NEED MORE!!!❤
Underwater was such a fcking nightmare. Back then when you only had one joystick to play lmao. Kids these days don't know how good they have it with good graphics, hot fixes and dualshock controllers
@@x-xPhobia I played mh3u on 3ds and never had a problame with underwater combat. Back then on psp with freedom unite when you were forced to move your camera with the crosspad, while moving your character with the joystick on the same side of the console. Lol
If it really does turn out to be all one huge map, I would love to occasionally run into other hunter groups on a hunt. Could you imagine if you were hunting a Rathalos and a Nargacuga came in for a turf war, only to have a group of hunters arrive with Nargacuga? That would be amazingly immersive!
the trees did not grow leaves, nor did the grass appear out of nowhere, it's the afterblow of the storm, it carried away the dust and sand that were accumulated on top of everything
I'm SO excited because this made it feel almost like a survival game with how the Hunter was escaping the forces of Nature and weaving through the danger just to get to safety👏 Combine that awesome intense feeling with what MH usually provides(GodTier--Combat, best Environment design etc.etc....) and we have ONE AMAZING game coming up
Here's hoping we finally get that perfect blend of the OG games, World, and Rise. Considering the absolute scale of the map combined with the mount, we're definitely on the right track. Also hoping we get water combat and possibly more returning monsters from Frontiers and Online. Espinas felt like just the beginning.
I will say. The large herd lion bears are giving me big Goss vibes. Other than the tail and colour, their skeleton is very similar. The flagship might not even be properly rigged. That might be why it hasn't been shown. Often, they intro new monster shapes with flagships. They might just not be ready yet. I kinda get a bit of Horizon energy of this, with the massive environment and such. I bet if your not alone, your part of a group of survivalists. Kinda like they have village size camps they can take down Uber fast. This game is gonna be so epic!!!
Monster hunter has a lot of things they could expand and add to, with new creatures and etc. I'm excited to see what's going to happen. I feel like it would be cool if the new bird mount would have potential customization, like the palamute and palico you get to customize, said when you're first creating your character.
The that ending where the sand sweeps through and the desert is now blooming to me looked like a seasonal transition. Implying the map isn't going to be static across the game but will change as time passes.
the mount is totally reminding me of a Tobikodachi, with that pounce-like glide and the flatter wide tail. Especially when it runs on all fours. Can't wait for this!
I'm hoping that the mount is fully customizable, like the palicos were in World/Rise. Speaking of, interesting that we didn't see any palicos in this trailer.
Something alot of people seem to miss because i have watched about 100 reaction videos to this. No one and i absolutely mean no one has noticed the fact that during the storm it does a quick pan to the big C formation rock and lighting comes up from the rock and arks back down. Pretty sure this means a big lightning monster is there.
I just love the small things in this trailer. Like the concept of that little herd animal species. The males are the "lightning rods" protecting the herd during storms and the others gather around them. Also other species of animals use them as cover too like the birds or I assume those bearlike monsters. I am already curious what monster is causing the storms, because it seems they will be the main focus of this region. The entire wildlife has some sort of adaptation to these storms. Also I thought those small raptor-like groups are baby Kulu Ya Kus sticking together with their siblings until they are big enough to go on alone.
I love it when they have sexual dimorphism in species. And I missed the lightning rod aspect the first time I viewed it. If they've developed lightning rods, then thunderstorms must be common in this land.
The real question Is what monster is the mount or on the very least what kind of monster- kinda looks like a bird wyvern perhaps but it can glide and climb? Could it be a cousin of sorts? Or a direct decendant from the monster that eventually evolved into the bird wyvern and the flying wyvern as it does match somewhat what it was somewhat described to look like 2:00 the raptor kinda look like genprey of some sort by what i can tell by the crest and the colors i can identify 7:58 it also seems inspired by australia aswell
Man I'm super excited for the return of the scoutflies. Makes you actually feel like you're hunting the monster, as opposed to the cheesy cohoot of Rise and being forced to run around aimlessly in old gen.
It isn't aimless at all in old gens. If you hunt a monster enough, you know where it frequents, scout flies give too much of an advantage. I like the tracking aspect, but I hate the fact that after a while it basically becomes the Cohoot from Rise.
what i got from the trailer was that is there is a good chance it i gonna be a open world game and that sand storm is probably caused by an elder dragon which is probably the flagship for mhw
If I'm not mistaken, one of the lightning strikes that happen strikes one of the male pangolin creatures. It also seems to light up that spine on his back like Godzilla . Its at 4:49 and it would be really cool if there was a large monster in the game that does something similar with the environment.
At 6:52 the grass and tree didn't "Grow" leave its more like they were covered in dust and dirt from the sandstorm and that big gust of wind blew the dust/dirt away. as for the structures the lightning rods certainly look man made. Few people know because you have to analyze a lot of lore to recognize it, but Monster Hunter has a post-apocalypse world setting. Its certainly Possible that what we see is indeed the ruins of a fallen HUMAN Civilization that was wiped out during an ancient war against masses of elder dragons.
I wanna say, i think they are going to supersize the idea of the guiding lands. Massive open world, seamless biome transitions, and terrain changes in the open world. Like snow land can be peaceful one moment and a blizzard the next. Dessert has sandstorms and Savanah transitions. Forest can be calm and have rainstorms, then become flodded forest.. on and so forth.
maybe the player is a wandering hunter that traverses between settlements as like a regional protector due to the area being more remote or something. thats why the player keeps extra gear with them, maybe you have to go to a town/village to change your loadout freely and while out in the wilds you only have the stuff you packed on your mount
I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t plan on releasing any trailer this early and only did so in order to ride the new MH game hype train that the community set up
I cant wait for Red dead redemption: Monster hunter edition, i hope its just one MASSIVE map where you have to traverse through all the different biomes, progressing the main quests along with side quests. Having to legit track down the monster your hunting through the open world sounds like so much fun. The hype is real
I'd think that dynamic weather can happen by itself, BUT elder dragons will be able to cause their own dynamic weather, the same way Chameleos causes fog. So Kushala would cause dust clouds and possibly turn the environment into more of a desert, Kirin would cause thunderstorms, and etc.
Yeah, but elder dragons are outside ecosystems. They are rarely a part of them, and these storms seem to be normal for this region, as the pangolin creatures are adapted to have lightning rod-like spikes to protect them from the lightning.
i noticed at the start of the gliding scene that the player came from one of the giant pillars so i think their more like the balloons in apex where the mounted player would climb up the spire to then immediately glide off it
I think this is one of many biomes. Each will have a special mechanic like a sandstorm that alters the map. In World they came up with crazy environments. I’m sure they’re putting the same effort in Wilds.
@markos50100 I mean, not really? It's not worth debating in detail, though. It just sits on the back like a long sword and looks more like the petrified long sword from mhxx
Greatsword handle points up to be pulled forward, longsword sits to the side. Also there are some close ups of the back that show the handle region has a similar sheath like shape that longswords share.
The sandstorm and the lightning reminded me very much of the monster hunter movie that made the cast get transported to the monster hunter world, can you imagine the advanced ancient civilization of the monster hunter world got so advanced because they could cross over to our world and used modern tech to combat the monsters of their own world, super hype for this next installment though and can't wait for more info to be revealed, fingers crossed for at least one new weapon type.
What i noticed is that bear like monsters were throwing around the pangolin like creatures! I really hope they severely ramped up monster and wildlife interactions with each other! That was one of the things that really bothered me in world and iceborne was that the monsters would literally brush up against each other and glitch out the game or clip through walls. I would love to see monsters trying to intimidate one another, use camouflage to hide from predators, flee the area when a larger more dangerous beast comes into the area, go on expeditions hearing monster calls/roars in the distance and destructive environments in the backyard, just to add to the immersion and realism in this awesome game! And I would love for the turf wars to be similar to Kaiju battles and mixture of realism with varying turf war animations depending on health etc!
I would absolutely love having a more “on your own” feeling. Like, you get to travel deep into the wilds where most of humanity doesn’t go, far from any civilization and no resupply camp or anything to help you. Just you and everything you decide to bring with you on your mount.
I'm extremely curious to know where in the MH universe is this going to take place, in the new world or the old world. But anyways the thought of bringing 2 weapons to a hunt (melee and gunner) is an amazing move by Capcom, is like giving us more ideas of how to carry out our hunts
You can see a guild crest on a pin on the hunter's back. The chance they're completely uninvolved with the guild is very slim. Though there is a chance they're a ranger of some sort. I think its fair to say they're not a typical hunter, or at least they follow a dramatically different doctrine. Someone who doesn't take quests directly from handlers, but instead roams deep into uninhabited territory with a fair amount of independence. Well beyond where typical hunters could be deployed. Normal hunters are well supported by smiths, engineers, handlers, scouts, logistics, etc. They're just a part of a larger machine. But these potential rangers could opperate with minimal support well beyond the usual reaches of the guild. Less powerful maybe but far more self sufficient. Their purpose is impossible to guess with just this to go on though and the location shown is much the same. This could be somewhere in the new world for all we know, or it could just be a part of the great desert.
Imagine if Iceborne had dynamic weather, the Effluvian and other locations..... I recognized Rathalos but the armor the Hunter was using seemed from something new unless they reworked the Pukie Pukie set
That far ruin type mountain you pointed out looks more like a giant metal snake wyvern elder dragon, and if you look closely it resemble the new symbol next to the title, with the headdress and open maw, as well as it's metal body glinting in the sunlight and wrapping around 2 mountains. Take a look.
Until an official name for it is revealed, I'm calling the mount a Palakeet due to it sounding the best out of the possible Pala-prefixed combinations. Maybe Palaptor, but the gliding doesn't fit with the dinosaur version of raptors naming
I'd note that the desert shifting to a savanna bit at the end of trailer is likely not how it would appear ingame, as the game is pretty much full cutscene mode at that point with rathalos flying by. Possibly highly sped up, where a proper change would be similar to the dust cloud we had earlier on to a thunderstorm; if it was just a thunderstorm rolling through, it wouldn't need the dust cloud transition.
With weather effects being a thing i am hoping for amastu being in this along with kirin and maybe orochi kirin. I want to see the flagship! Also i see desert so tigrex and diablos will be in this. Cant wait to see what new monsters they have planned up!
That's what I was thinking, imagine being able to go to a mountainous locale and seeing storms and realizing that you probably have to climb to the mountain top to fight Amatsu, it wouldn't be out of the question for final boss mons like Amatsu or fatty to return in new fights as this game is absolutely gonna be massive and is gonna be the anniversary title, plus Capcom has pretty much 90% of the monster roster adapted properly into HD, I'm not holding my breath for it, but it would be cool.
Kirin brings thunderstorms. Orochi kirin brings snowstorms, along with biome change: snow. Namielle brings rain, along with biome change: flood. Kushala Daora brings dust clouds, along with biome change: desert (the opposite of what we see of desert to savanna in trailer). Teostra brings biome change: firescape. Chameleos beings persistent fog. Inagami brings biome change: regrowth/forest. New elder dragon: Wildcard: can cause any weather/biome change (something like Wild Hearts final monster boss maybe?)
The bottom head of the logo really reminded me of Shantien from Frontier. Especially with the whole lightning theme of the trailer, and it being so blue too which is Shantien's colour scheme. It might be a stretch but those jagged winged head tips scream it to me.
The grass and trees dont "grow" the dust is blown off of the landscape. The monsters with long spikes on the back don't have electric powers, they are just struck by the lightning. The hunters is likely in the base armor and weapons, thus why they dont look over the top. Seriously Cotton you stretched WAY to hard on a lot of this.
@@OSG_Graced grass is under the dust and the tree does not grow leaves, there are there before the dust is blown off. Also the water is there as well just hard to see under to storm and dust. SMH
The possibility of a MH survival game working outside the confines of a village and the guild. The thousands of hours you could dump into a game like that, not that you can't dump thousands of hours into any of the past MH games but just something completely fresh.
Something I would like to point out during the trailer, when the title card appears and then "WILDS" and the new logo fades into view, it almost looks as if it is reflected on the surface of water and there is a sort of ripple effect there as well. Possibly a water-themed flagship? Also the logo does have a sort of ouroboros motif, so perhaps a world-serptent-esque final boss? Also that zone transition clip looks reminiscent of the Coral Highlands.
Anyoneelse thinking that the logo drop at the end of the trailer almost looks watery like water drops hitting a calm lake plus the reflection of the "Wilds" text. Lagi confirmed
the two monsters i wanted to have were gammoth and ahtal ka and i mean i'm not sure about gammoth but i'm a little more confident in ahtal being here and with how open the map is i feel we can expect larger monsters showing up or reappearing im hopping that we get a huge open world map with sections being different biomes and not just having a savannah type large map
Its giving me vibes more like Aztec/Mayan in a prairie and rocky desert thing. I don't really see African influences. Also, the mount does not fly, at least not in this trailer. The action shown is clearly gliding, not flight. I do like that it used the feathers not only on its arms, but also the feathers on the tail. When it lands you can see the tail feathers smooth out as how flared they had looked during the gliding portion.
i feel a misconception getting around is that the moving sand reveal means the map actively shifts. From what I can tell, it’s just the sand from the storm that just billowed through clearing with some wind. this is evidenced partially by Rathalos flying (more accurately gliding) in the same direction
If you look close in certain frames you can see a Clutch Claw on one arm and Scout Fly cage on his belt. Also nobody has pointed it out but, the trailer didn’t feature a palicoe joining the hunter at all.
6:50 I've already said it a ton, probably will say it a ton more-- the grass is there before. it doesn't suddenly spring up, the dust on top of it just blown off. You can see earlier that the grass is under some dust or sand.
Things I want to see in this game: 1. Bring back real hunting, make us find the things 2. Open world, this game really looks like an open world game so this should be a given. 3. Multiple villages, seeing as this is likely open world this should also be added 4. Being back the gargantuan monsters! Dalamadur, Daran Moran, gogmazios, all would be awesome to encounter around the world. 5. Bring back the sand boats, would be very helpful for mobility and crossing desserts, and you could fight giant sand monsters during events. 6. Put in good sea combat, if you have sand boats you can have boats on the water, could be interesting fighting lagi from a boat, and while you are at that bring back underwater combat and make it good 7. This would add another layer to combat, and not at all required but it would be fun. Aerial combat. You could be on an airship or something, and a rathalos appears. You defend the ship and maybe they also have a few more mounts that this raptor guy, such as a flying one specifically for air combat. 8. New weapons, would be cool but not necessarily required.
idk why but having to actually go out and find the monster in the world just sounds awesome to me. Ive had many nights laying in bed thinking of how a open world monster hunter would work, really hope this game answers my questions lol
I hate to be THAT guy but that definitely wasnt free full flight from the Palizard (what my group is calling it) but a glide. It's clearly heavily based on an archeoptyrx which could not perform powered flight.
The last scene looking out at the landscape with the rock circle looking extremely man made I wonder if we will get more insight on the ancient civilizations
I feel like we did see the flagship monster(s) get revealed in the logo. There are two separate dragon like monsters intertwining vertically, with an additional four separate monsters on the sides (coiled into circles). I think there are two big bois, similar to Rise. The other four are still boss monsties, but likely ones you fight along the way to the reveal of the two largest.
I’ve got a theory that we are gonna see a lot of electromagnetism in play here. Especially with the storms and those rock formations, if I’m right in one year quote me lol
I truly cant wait. This is a game with immense scale and that means something for Monster Hunter as a whole. Just imagining what they can do with this one if done right. I hope we get a remaster/port of one of the older games while waiting like Tri of 4 Ultimate. It has to happen while we're waiting and those 2 are some of the best classic gamss. I how how Rathalos was casually flying around, indicating to remind us that it was he who had started the cycle of flagship monsters
@@masonstewart6232 hello buddy, and indeed it is
AND HE HAS HIS OLD, REGAL ROAR
we can't escape this guy
A traveling camp would absolutely make sense for an open world MH. Instead of predetermined campsites to rest/restock you basically pick your own that's amazing. I am curious about the dual load out thing and how they'd implement it. Still have over a year for more news and announcements so I'm still holding my breath for a new weapon type also.
which could have consequences if set up camp and big monster gets into area and suddenly damages it loss of items have to rebuild stuff collect basic survival supplies while in town storage is fully protected. But the title them i didnt hear the hunter fanfare BUT i heard a mix of it with abit of monster hunter stories theme. what if its mixture can choose to hunt witha monster as both sides used weapons just one worked with monsters.
Yeah that would be awesome, and then there could be some absolutely safe areas. But you can risk it by hunkering down anywhere.@@benlee8225
at 10:26 the " hold up, them raptors are tiny as fuck" had me wheezing
Sad remobra noises
True. The website video also seems to show wild weather changes, maybe seasons are back from Dos?
My immediate thought when seeing the logo, with the almost woven circles, was a Norse theme, especially with the logo being a very long snake, but the way it’s styled actually looks very typical Aztec design, which does also feature a mythological giant snake
Side note, those definitely looked like Goss Harag, the way they moved and the red face, fighting herds of monsters would be so cool
Imagine the sand becoming glass
Its worth pointing out that there is a scoutfly cage on the Hunters belt AS WELL AS A slinger on his left arm! I don't know if that is definitely a feature in wilds or if it's just style but I loved the slinger as a feature (not including thhe clutch claw) and I would love to see it return
Slinger was definitely useful. The clutch claw... yeah no.
As a lance main, I disagree
The cage seems to be empty, but perhaps you can pick up scout flies as endemic life to fill it?
@@markos50100Are u saying the clutch claw wasn’t useful? It was very strong as a tool.
I NEED MORE!!!❤
Dude, I was the only one to think it 😂 yeah, the reflect under the logo is probably the way to telle us there will be underwater hunting
I'm just imagining you barely dodging attacks, being pushed into a corner and about to die only to have a random hunter rush in and save you
Dude that would be sick
no fuck that. no shitty mmo plz.
the trees did not grow leaves, nor did the grass appear out of nowhere, it's the afterblow of the storm, it carried away the dust and sand that were accumulated on top of everything
I'm SO excited because this made it feel almost like a survival game with how the Hunter was escaping the forces of Nature and weaving through the danger just to get to safety👏
Combine that awesome intense feeling with what MH usually provides(GodTier--Combat, best Environment design etc.etc....) and we have ONE AMAZING game coming up
Notice on the bear things. Most have tails in the intro, but when the do a close up riding around two, one has a tail, and one doesn't have a tail.
Rathalos was there just to say, "I AM THE HYPE!" and leave so everyone knew it was Monster Hunter.
This game is gonna be so epic!!!
what if the flagship or so on is a giant version of the hunter rideing mount or useing its skeleton
@@benlee8225 that was indeed a point cotton mentioned, and a good point, I'll agree. There's loads of different possibilities to explore
Rathalos is there just to confirm that is really a monster hunter game.
Gonna say it now, that's a prehistoric Chocobo.
I'm hoping that the mount is fully customizable, like the palicos were in World/Rise. Speaking of, interesting that we didn't see any palicos in this trailer.
There were also no palicos in the world reveal trailer too.
At 5:44 you can see the bear throwing one of the pangolin boys and it ragdoll to the left
Also, the grass isn't growing? Maybe it is, but I got the impression that the storm had blown away the sand piles.
Or a direct decendant from the monster that eventually evolved into the bird wyvern and the flying wyvern as it does match somewhat what it was somewhat described to look like
2:00 the raptor kinda look like genprey of some sort by what i can tell by the crest and the colors i can identify
7:58 it also seems inspired by australia aswell
Man I'm super excited for the return of the scoutflies. Makes you actually feel like you're hunting the monster, as opposed to the cheesy cohoot of Rise and being forced to run around aimlessly in old gen.
It isn't aimless at all in old gens. If you hunt a monster enough, you know where it frequents, scout flies give too much of an advantage. I like the tracking aspect, but I hate the fact that after a while it basically becomes the Cohoot from Rise.
nah the scout flies made it feel less like a hunt in execution
what i got from the trailer was that is there is a good chance it i gonna be a open world game and that sand storm is probably caused by an elder dragon which is probably the flagship for mhw
If I'm not mistaken, one of the lightning strikes that happen strikes one of the male pangolin creatures. It also seems to light up that spine on his back like Godzilla . Its at 4:49 and it would be really cool if there was a large monster in the game that does something similar with the environment.
Yes, I was surprised that this wasn't mentioned. Weather/environment changing the behavior of monsters would be amazing.
I can think of one monster that does something very similar and its Kirin.
Like a primordial malzeno or a zinogre
Like gurenzeburu and kuarusepusu from frontier
The big bear monsters kind of look like Goss Haragd, especially, their attack moves.
maybe the player is a wandering hunter that traverses between settlements as like a regional protector due to the area being more remote or something. thats why the player keeps extra gear with them, maybe you have to go to a town/village to change your loadout freely and while out in the wilds you only have the stuff you packed on your mount
Those little dudes with the shells remind me a lot of Kulve Taroth just a lot smaller. Super excited for all of this.
It would be awesome if that “dynamic weather” is actually the natural disaster of an elder dragon like kushala 😅
@@gektoast4968 yea makes sense
i noticed at the start of the gliding scene that the player came from one of the giant pillars so i think their more like the balloons in apex where the mounted player would climb up the spire to then immediately glide off it
I think this is one of many biomes. Each will have a special mechanic like a sandstorm that alters the map. In World they came up with crazy environments. I’m sure they’re putting the same effort in Wilds.
This rock in the title picture looks to me like something did an super large beam that rushed through a mountain and that's what's left.
As another person has pointed out, that's probably a chunky longsword instead of a small greatsword. It fits the longsword profile better
That's what I'm sayinn
It looks like some early game great swords from older games. Not a long sword.
@markos50100 I mean, not really? It's not worth debating in detail, though. It just sits on the back like a long sword and looks more like the petrified long sword from mhxx
@@joereed8872the greatsword sits on the back the same way though lol
Also interesting to know *When* it will take place. Could be a situation where we see the early days of the world
You can see a guild crest on a pin on the hunter's back.
I recognized Rathalos but the armor the Hunter was using seemed from something new unless they reworked the Pukie Pukie set
or great macao
@@SaiTaX_the_Chile_boi regular macao.
I think it might be the starter armor set/ entry level gear around gathering perhaps.
@@andylastname566 good point.
Palopteryx?
I'd note that the desert shifting to a savanna bit at the end of trailer is likely not how it would appear ingame, as the game is pretty much full cutscene mode at that point with rathalos flying by. Possibly highly sped up, where a proper change would be similar to the dust cloud we had earlier on to a thunderstorm; if it was just a thunderstorm rolling through, it wouldn't need the dust cloud transition.
Finally!!, I've been eagerly anticipating this video throughout the entire day
7:10 I think that's overthinking it, Monster Hunter is no stranger to having odd landmarks.
Why would you ever hope for Amatsu
@@NioXoiN bc it's a cool monster that most ppl like?
@@NioXoiN there's also the fact that visually Amatsu has the most beautiful fight in the series.
Agreed. Totally shantien or subspecies
The grass and trees dont "grow" the dust is blown off of the landscape.
The monsters with long spikes on the back don't have electric powers, they are just struck by the lightning.
The hunters is likely in the base armor and weapons, thus why they dont look over the top.
Seriously Cotton you stretched WAY to hard on a lot of this.
to be fair, i thought the trees and grass grew too lol
Actually I’m pretty sure it’s more of a season change thing. I don’t think you can grow leaves and running water with dust…
@@OSG_Graced grass is under the dust and the tree does not grow leaves, there are there before the dust is blown off. Also the water is there as well just hard to see under to storm and dust. SMH
The Baboon Bears look related to Goss Harag
The Hype is real
The possibility of a MH survival game working outside the confines of a village and the guild. The thousands of hours you could dump into a game like that, not that you can't dump thousands of hours into any of the past MH games but just something completely fresh.
I wonder if it will be in the old world or the new world. It looks to me like a mix between the old desert and the wildspire wastes.
Will you have the courage to create a new "Pro and Noob" series? Because at this point, Cotton is already a veteran hunter
Why does everyone keep saying the mount flys? it is clearly a glide.
One thing I’m super hoping for is a new weapon. I know that’s a lot to ask for but it would be kinda cool tbh
Anyoneelse thinking that the logo drop at the end of the trailer almost looks watery like water drops hitting a calm lake plus the reflection of the "Wilds" text. Lagi confirmed
Man, I was really hoping the palamutes would've stayed in the franchises going forward. Heck we didn't even see our palicoes.
We didn't see flight at all tho, we saw it gliding.
I'm so excited, and I can't wait for the pro and noob experience 🎉
I like the idea that your mount serves as your tent, your transport, *and* your cart when you faint.
the two monsters i wanted to have were gammoth and ahtal ka and i mean i'm not sure about gammoth but i'm a little more confident in ahtal being here and with how open the map is i feel we can expect larger monsters showing up or reappearing im hopping that we get a huge open world map with sections being different biomes and not just having a savannah type large map
Surely serpent wyverns are gonna be a thing look at the sigil… which means we’ve gotta be getting dalamadur
I hope we get massive underground areas like elden ring. What if the big rock is that flagship hiding in plain sight
I nearby christen our new mount: The Palociraptor
i feel a misconception getting around is that the moving sand reveal means the map actively shifts. From what I can tell, it’s just the sand from the storm that just billowed through clearing with some wind. this is evidenced partially by Rathalos flying (more accurately gliding) in the same direction
It feels like it a time in the past, almost like this is where the hunting of the monster first started, it's absolutely beautiful
I can’t help but feel like they made a Tobi Kadachi Mount variant for us. Looks sick as hell.
Those raptors are indeed very tiny... possibly even small enough to be endemic life.
10:25 ngl, that not only caught me off guard, but i didn't even notice them til now, and damn did you get a laugh out of me🤣
Things I want to see in this game:
1. Bring back real hunting, make us find the things
2. Open world, this game really looks like an open world game so this should be a given.
3. Multiple villages, seeing as this is likely open world this should also be added
4. Being back the gargantuan monsters! Dalamadur, Daran Moran, gogmazios, all would be awesome to encounter around the world.
5. Bring back the sand boats, would be very helpful for mobility and crossing desserts, and you could fight giant sand monsters during events.
6. Put in good sea combat, if you have sand boats you can have boats on the water, could be interesting fighting lagi from a boat, and while you are at that bring back underwater combat and make it good
@@Odd1006 my first monster hunter was mg4u, and I've wanted an open world game since.
@@The_medicine_frog Same, mh4u is sooo good. I just think open world monster hunter is kind of meant to be
Looks more like the mount can only glide
Looks more like a glide then full on flight.
1-Two weapons (swappable)
2-Semi-open map (maybe with 2-3 biomes)
3-Dynamic weather
4-Slingshot (but no grappling hook?)
5-Scoutflies?
6-Protable tent/camp
7-Hardcore Survival MH (my body is ready!)
The mount looks insane! I hope the colors are fully customizable
It feels criminal not to have anything exactly on the exact year of MH's 20th anniversary.
