Ben Thanh market is for tourists, shopping is a way to experience and relax. So the prices of the items that the sellers offer here are like those on a five-star ship and the way you bargain is the oldest trading traditions. It is an experience that is not a real shopping channel for everyday life. Local people never come here for shopping 😅

Oh !! Tôi cũng từng hoang mang khi nghe những "lời khuyên" và đủ thứ "cảnh báo" như thế từ trên mạng. Nhưng vài lần tới Vn tôi biết rằng đa số chúng là những chuyện bịa đặt của ai đó và với ý đồ của riêng họ mà thôi. Người Vn rất thân thiện, gần gũi.

Ben Thanh Market is the most Famous! There are two prices in this market! Fixed price too funny and walk around to another seller get exactly the same thing. A lot of this stuff import from China.. 100 % cotton thats a marketing label for sure guys.. Govt store too funny she is got you convinced 😂😂 Dat Qua ( means expensive) Gr8 to see you guys are having fun here in Vietnam. Don’t worry where you can wear it.. Every one wears their PJ’s out every where not worry.. 😂

Very good video - hello from Zürich, CH! I wonder if it's cheaper than in Istanbul's fake market...There are many different "fake grade" and some are even Made in Turkey instead of China and 99% exactly like the real ones esp. leather goods.
Aways go down to 20% the price they want,
If they say. 100k, just go down to 20 k or 25k,
They will sale it to you,

Naomi is right about getting stuck at first shop 😂. We should all walk to the back of markets and start there first for better prices. I actually did this in a mall in KL, went to the top where shops were tinier with garage doors, not like main floor where shops had glass doors. I found items for 1/2 the price, sometimes the exact same pants as lower floors 👌
FYI In BT market the first section shops belong to the government so the prices are reasonable and set . So no need to haggle . Inside the market the shops are owned by private vendors so they always say a higher price at the beginning to test the customers . So why you have to bargain for a more acceptable price . Always start by 1/3 then lift up gradually to the price you are comfortable to pay .

I guess that is the ego of the YT folks who believe they are entitled to film. We normally just be respectful and ask permission first. Generally, it is ok, but we don't expect it to be ok. ❤

Ở chợ BT, khu vòng ngoài là giá cố định, bán đúng giá, bạn. Ở nơi khác, có thể như bạn nói.

Advice, take @ clothing items that u bought to a tailor 4 correction. it doesn't cost that much.
If you know what to buy, what quality looks like, as you mentioned the thickness of the fabric, you will get your monies worth. I am an American, and have several American made T-Shirts, some with designs, some just a solid color, that are 20 years old or more. Wash them properly, and treat them right, they will last. I have seen you buy things in these markets that appear to be very good quality. It just depends on youf wisdom to choose right. Great content. I would have a boast shopping in these markets.

Some people say “this place is higher than that place” but price is not always the standard. Sure you should always try to ask 20%-30% lower price but if try to go 50% lower it might cost you time and mood 😂 If I feel the price is high, I just don’t buy it. But I must say the same clothes in different stores in Saigon square are in same range of price. So if the seller can’t sell you at a price it would be truly low price for them. In Saigon square there are some styles of clothes and material that you can’t find any where else or at least you don’t have time to find it. Also the quality there is good too. I’m a Vietnamese and I still go to Saigon square sometimes 😊
Tip for you how to wash those T-shirts and Kimono without damaging them : first use mild detergent - handwash them ( if possible ) in lukewarm water - never put them in a dryer - never hang them up to dry - just lay them out on a flat surface and let them dry slowly . By that way your T-shirts and Kimono will last for long time . Enjoy your shopping in Saigon and don't be shy to haggle .

I’m in Vietnam right now … and they aren’t as friendly as Thai people … these markets are only mostly nice to white people … 😅 I’m Indian and tho I treat everyone kindly I really didn’t get the same treatment here … and I had a good 100$ I was willing to spend .. but there treatment was so cold i finally walked out without buying anything at all … which is a very rare case for me… outside of the markets tho the people were very nice
