Thanks Carl , another very good and informative video. I have so much to learn about these amazing trees . After loosing a 5 foot ( 1.2 metre) beauty last year by over fertilizing ( I think ). I have now been taking more care and spending time and money to get things better. I have now bought 22 more Trees over 1 1/2 foot (400mm) and have grown 140 seedlings this year. Some look superb. Not too sure what I will do yet with so many. So much to learn is fun though. Cheers keep up the great work.

Thanks and yes too much nitrogen from fertiliser can shock these trees. I just use slow release acer feed every March, job done 👍

Hallo, can you tell me the name of the acer you frame at 7,28 minute of this video, on your right into the greenhouse ?
      Thank you

@@lorenzomaiorfi5017 hi it’s definitely a Shiriswanum and looks like Moonrise to me. Carl

Wonderful video, as always very informative. I grow Acer for Bonsai, so I don't want a graft mark on the trunk, but I potentially sacrifice the strength and resilience you would get from a strong rootstock xx

I totally agree, for Bonsai it’s worth the sacrifice. To be fair some cultivars grow well on their own roots and with the level of care Bonsai get I’m sure they would be fine. Thanks for posting, Carl

I have several Japanese maples in pots and it seems the trunks of these trees have a graying going on. One has bark that looks like it is peeling. Is this normal or a fungus? It still has green leaves. Unsure of its name.
