Coffeepen He thought the first few episodes were 10/10 material but was disappointed by the middle section, which I understand, but I feel like on rewatch without the weekly drag, the strengths present even in the middle came through better and the power of the opening and closing won out. Also, if you've read the manga, this series holds a *lot* of promise going forward. It's super not for everyone, but I am personally head over heels.

Honestly, Didn't know you liked Seikon no Qwaser so much. Just for some perspective I utterly expected Gochi USA to be around the mid range of the top 50 if not a little higher but, Qwaser completely threw me for a loop.

Hello World might have been one of the best intro choices for an anime ever! It fits Dr. Stone so well, and there are a few episodes where they use its grand buildup to a phenomenal extent.
Real happy to see that Girl's Last Tour is one of the anime you haven't seen that you're interested in, since it's by far my favorite anime of all time.
@@languidlandscapelad2239 I hope he does, I also have not particularly liked the manga the couple times I've tried it. I think it gains so much from having sound.
The only one here so far to surprise me as a long-time fan was Akagami no Shirayuki-hime. Not that I think it's bad, I'm actually up-to-date on and following the manga myself, just kinda figured it'd be a tad too mellow and slow for your taste. The fact that you included it does bode well though, since I'm hoping you listed Akatsuki no Yona personally.
TBH, Snow White anime covers most of the good parts of the manga while Yona ends right before the series really takes off. If the TV series at least covered up to Yellow Dragon's story arc instead of leaving it to an OVA, then it could be on the list.
People are forgetting about Barakamon when predicting Digi’s list so I’m sure it’s going to be there somewhere since I just finished it yesterday and it was great
It would be neat if you made a list of the shows people have recommended to you but, you haven't watched yet. Basically a list of the shows you showed in the beginning of the video.
As someone who only got into anime in 2015 and has now completed over 1000 shows and dropped even more, my most common reaction to the shows on this list was "wait, that was from this decade?"
Yamada-kun to nana-nin no majo is a very good series ... to read, the anime is rushed and unseatling compared to the well paced manga with constant mistery and history building that we can only get a grasp in the 4th part, it also got a very good twist with a certain girl when we see the naive nature of yamada destroying the life of someone and why he and urara got isolated in the first place.
i would be surprised if digi never saw nichijou. Pretty sure he's seen it but it doesn't show up on his profile since he forgot to mark it. What a legend.
Somehow I am anxious that you will forget to mention March comes in like a Lion, even though u said u loved it. Great video Digi, looking forward to the next one.
Generally speaking, Digibro is a relatively smart person, but keep in mind he's still a cartoon addict, and what should just be considered guilty pleasures have bled into this list. He has a lot of cheap shovel ware entries on here, none of which deserve any mention as "top anime of the decade".
I know basically everyone is just dropping a favourite from the unwatched list in the comments, but you (yes you) owe it to yourself to catch up on Chihayafuru. Show is excellent (at least until season 2 ends, I refuse to watch anything as it's airing, but am massively excited for season 3 to finish), this weird mix of shoujo-tinged drama with a slightly lower energy than average shonen sports narrative. Possibly my pick for most underappreciated show of the decade.
Momokuri and Akagami no Shirayuki-hime are shows I definitely need to watch later. I imagine your #1 will either be Sangatsu or K-On (2nd Season + Movie), followed by HxH, Shirobako, Psycho Pass, Kill la Kill, Steins;Gate, Log Horizon, Dragon Maid and KnK for your top 10. I predict you'll also have Girlish Number, Fate/Zero, Devilman Crybaby, NGNL, Space Dandy, Mob Psycho 100, Konosuba, Madoka, Ping Pong and Baby Steps (under-watched AF) somewhere in the top 25.
@@Trixiethegoldenwitch Ah you're right, I thought one of them (that you liked) was made in the 2010s, but the majority of the movies are in the 2000s. I don't know how I missed this, but your #2 spot in MAL has Kaze Tachinu, that I thought was released earlier, so I'm guessing that rounds out your top 10 possibly
I remember loving the first short that came out, but I had the feeling that I wouldn't enjoy a more long term story within that setting. Guess I was right, because unfortunately, it really bored me, witch (pun intended) is the last thing I expected from a trigger show And then my friends started saying shit like "yeah, I get it, it's a slice of life show, not everyone likes those"... bitch I love SoL, it's one of my favorite genres because it's pretty much the only genre where you can't carry a story through premise alone. And yet LWA bored me more than it entertained me (witch, again, is a damn shame)
@@CaseNumber00 I don't think animation was the problem really, more like a lack of imagination when it came to what the story would be about. Even with lacking animation, a cool situation or idea can make up for everything else
Thanks you for being so honest about your own personal preferences, as I'm sure it could be argued that SAO, despite having a trash story, was far more impactful than most of the anime that were better than it.
Damn, I didn't expect to see Bakuon on this list. I kinda lost interest two episodes in when I started it years ago, then I tried watching it last week and did exactly the same thing. Maybe I'll give it another shot.
Bakuon was my top show of the season it aired in. It is K-On with motorcycles and I love K-On. It does have a more comedy focus and doesn't have the Kyoani animation quality. I think with these types of comedy shows it depends on how much you like the characters. I found it consistent hilarious while the anime community seemed to overlook the show.
It's hard to take this seriously if you still haven't seen Nichijou / Chihayafuru or consider things like Rakugo / Usagi Drop to be 'honorable mentions' then fill your first half of the list with moe blobs. Glad Lupin pt 4 got mentioned, this has flown under the radar for many.
This is a Digibro list dude, you should know what his taste is like by now. Even though our tastes could not be further apart from each other, I like seeing unique and different takes on the things that I consume.
Ogger me too. I just appreciate the explanations as to why he thinks these are the best anime of the decade. And if there happens to be an anime that peaks my interest, I will add it to my Plan-to-Watch.

You watched every anime in 2010, 2014, 2016, and 2018? Could you please go and watch every anime in 2012 before my OCD develops consciousness and/or a taste for human flesh?
I never understood why anyone bothered with that show. Classical music as theme but not a single bit of passion for it. It seemed more like a flashy background for the subpar yuri story rather than something the authors really put thought into.
@@ParadoxDelta I strongly believe you went into the show with the wrong mindset, and probably havent watched the whole show. But the show has a lot of passion for music, the first season iirc has character development related to music in itself, characters who quit the band because for them it was just a club, and others like Reina who are so into it they cry when they come short after trying their everything, as any normal human would, i think. And the story also follows kumiko who is in the beginning is someone who cant decide their goal for the year, and by the end is someone who is completely different.
@@VyNyLoKo6 Indeed, I only watched the first season and it was a massive letdown. I expectet something like shirobako that realy dives into the topic and explains concepts. What i got was a bunch of students, that practiced 80% of the show, mostly because of 'they kinda started to play an instrument', peer pressure and rivalry plus a teacher that only encouraged malicious behaviour among his student and like 5 minutes of actual orchestra playing a piece in the entire show. I can't recall a single instance of a student saying "I really like this piece / composer for these reasons'. Hell they were so insecure about the whole classical music concept that they even chose generic jpop songs for intro and outro. Why would I bother with a second season?
@@ParadoxDelta Yeah, I can see why you would be disapointed then, the show is about band, and not specifically "classical music". I was never in a big band, but from what i hear, the show portrays that quite well. I dont know why you should bother with a second season since you dont seem to like the whole drama the show develops, even though thats mostly why i like it.

TBH, Snow White anime covers most of the good parts of the manga while Yona ends right before the series really takes off. If the TV series at least covered up to Yellow Dragon's story arc instead of leaving it to an OVA, then it could be on the list.
At last, I’ve been waiting.
oh my lorrrrd it's finally here im so hyped
Gakkou Gurashi actually ended quite recently and... it hurts and is beautiful. The ending was led up to and still ended up feeling sudden though.
Glad to see that Adult Swim has aired:
- (#44) Pop Team Epic
- (#40) Dr. Stone
- (#35) Lupin The Third [Parts 4 & 5]
- (#33) One Punch Man
To give you an idea about how out of it I am, I didn't even know they were making new Lupin.
The Gakkougurashi manga just ended and i. i. *sob* i'm so glad you put the anime so high up on the list.
I was kind of happy to see Princess Principal in the honorable mentions. That show deserves some love.
People are forgetting about Barakamon when predicting Digi’s list so I’m sure it’s going to be there somewhere since I just finished it yesterday and it was great
Your taste is incomprehensible for me, but seems like a nice list. Excited for top 25
Man, slime isekai hooked me, so I read the manga, then read all the light novels released so far. I love it.
March comes in like a lion TOP 10!!!!!
Digi thought it may be his number 1 period, so I think top 3 at least is guaranteed
Max Mustermann still waiting for season 3 🙏
5:51 Didn't the main protag of Slime Isekai just got stabbed from behind walking Digi?
i started smiling when i saw panty and stocking just because i feel like it gets hate for the humour, so im glad it was able to make your top 50!
*Sees Nichijou on not yet seen*
Dude you've gotta get on that.
i should mention that this SLICE OF LIFE anime has some of the most insane, godly animation I have ever had the privilege to lay my eyes on
I'm more concerned about Chihayafuru
i would be surprised if digi never saw nichijou. Pretty sure he's seen it but it doesn't show up on his profile since he forgot to mark it. What a legend.
this is digibrony we're talking about, he's probably seen half the show via gifs posted on /a/ i already
16:33 can’t believe he actually said that word, ngl I was stunned
Nice to see Tiramisu getting acknowledged.
Somehow I am anxious that you will forget to mention March comes in like a Lion, even though u said u loved it.
Great video Digi, looking forward to the next one.
19 mins in i've dropped or considered dropping a lot of what hes listed. I think i liked more of his honorable mentions.
Generally speaking, Digibro is a relatively smart person, but keep in mind he's still a cartoon addict, and what should just be considered guilty pleasures have bled into this list. He has a lot of cheap shovel ware entries on here, none of which deserve any mention as "top anime of the decade".
@@OilFreeFeathers Thats a bit too crazy for me
@@Heatranoveryou Facts are crazy? Okay then.
@@OilFreeFeathers facts? lol
Definitely watch Girls Last Tour, you will love it!
I'm so happy lupin is in the list, no talks about it. You do some videos on lupin
This is the twenty-fifth video in "To Visit in 2023"
I know basically everyone is just dropping a favourite from the unwatched list in the comments, but you (yes you) owe it to yourself to catch up on Chihayafuru.
Yo I'm losing my shit laughing at 'Everybody is color coded, just keep track of the colors.'
I can't believe Digi hasn't seen nichijo. I thought every big anime UA-camr loved that show.
Almost spot on, but KnK was the 2000s
@@Trixiethegoldenwitch Ah you're right, I thought one of them (that you liked) was made in the 2010s, but the majority of the movies are in the 2000s.
I don't know how I missed this, but your #2 spot in MAL has Kaze Tachinu, that I thought was released earlier, so I'm guessing that rounds out your top 10 possibly
Cool video!
"literally nobody else samples everything before making their list" YourMovieSucks would like to speak with you
I'm sure he meant in the anime community, he actually speaks often about how he admires YMS for doing that
i haven't watched lupin the III, and i know it will become on of my favorite when i will.
Can't wait to see the movie list.
I am genuinely astonished he never got back to finishing Little Witch Aca, that said, it was the most generic Trigger show imaginable.
I really enjoyed it for the animation and art, but the story, at least when it was expanded for the TV show, was very average as far as I'm concerned.
I remember loving the first short that came out, but I had the feeling that I wouldn't enjoy a more long term story within that setting. Guess I was right, because unfortunately, it really bored me, witch (pun intended) is the last thing I expected from a trigger show
And then my friends started saying shit like "yeah, I get it, it's a slice of life show, not everyone likes those"... bitch I love SoL, it's one of my favorite genres because it's pretty much the only genre where you can't carry a story through premise alone. And yet LWA bored me more than it entertained me (witch, again, is a damn shame)
The very first 2 OVAs were really good. The series didnt quite live up to it in terms of animation.
@@CaseNumber00 I don't think animation was the problem really, more like a lack of imagination when it came to what the story would be about.
Even with lacking animation, a cool situation or idea can make up for everything else
@Shaman Xeed ????
Looking forward to part 2
@@katsuo7798
I don't plan to watch 30 different Moe anime tho
Ogger me too. I just appreciate the explanations as to why he thinks these are the best anime of the decade. And if there happens to be an anime that peaks my interest, I will add it to my Plan-to-Watch.
Me casually looking at the anime digi hasn’t watched yet.
Nichijou? *jontron* What?!
I don't even watch a lot of anime and I've seen that.
Nichijou is the best anime this decade and nothing you say can change my mind.
creeper izak I’ll say it’s in my top 5. Did you even read the comment in context of the video? Digibro still hasn’t watching nichijou!
@@manofcultura
Yeah, I just needed to get that out of my system.
Bro monogatari's second season *MUST* be in top 10
eva title cards were a nice touch
There still a year left to the Decade....
Me: Y no gintama?!
Digi: Because I'm very behind.
Me: Fair enough, carry on.
Can't tell you how happy I was to see Prison School get a mention.
oh yeah, the sweet smell of recommendations
Glad to see is the order a rabbit? It is truly a godsend.
Watching this with my MAL open in case I have to put something in to "Plan to Watch".
Walked into the list skeptical, ended up with 10 new things to watch, fellow Emil comrade.

You watched every anime in 2010, 2014, 2016, and 2018? Could you please go and watch every anime in 2012 before my OCD develops consciousness and/or a taste for human flesh?
Cool to see Swagmoto on here

Oh man. You haven't seen GuP? IDK if it'd be on your top 50. I enjoyed it though
Here. We. Go.
Ore Monogatari and Usagi drop are honorable mentions. Its my two favorite animes.
Well hibike euphonium got a honorable mention, I'm happy
MY WIFE CHINO IS SO CUTE!
