thank you SO MUCH for introducing me to The Big Catch in your first video on it!! Amazing to become aware of that game, like, a few months before Tacklebox dropped. 3D Platformer fans are EATING
More Indie recommendations from the best in the business? Hell yeah. And .45 Parabellum Bloodhound (Va-11 Hall-A love) and Alabaster Dawn (CrossCode is Peak Existence) are GOATED recommendations, I refuse to die so I can play those.
16:06 as someone who actively tracks progress on V.A Proxy, im telling you that the most we are getting this year is another demo build. Game still has a long time before it releases
This year might genuinely be the best year in gaming ever. Silksong and the big catch will most likely be some of the best games ever made and the switch 2 is coming this year.
Thought I wouldnt find out about any games i havent heared of, beacuse I knew pretty much every game from the thumbnail, but I was so glad to be wrong about that. Great Video dude. Dont know when the last time was, that I was this impressed by someones great taste and infectious passion for games
Would you be up for more mentions of games you probably haven't heard of? I can mention stuff like Judero, Magenta Horizon: Neverending Harvest, The Midnight Walk, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos and Ruffy & the Riverside for example, and even more than that.
started playing rolling rascal because you mentioned it in a previous video and I am obsessed with how intentionally open everything is. it manages to feel "designed" while still encouraging freeform movement thank you for putting me on
this is the first vid I have seen from you but it was so good never heard of the big catch before and i downloaded the demo now because of you and i love it the movement is so peak!! thank you!
bro legit mess with your channel HEAVY, lovin the content you put out and i started watching you 7 months ago and have been subbed ever since, fr tho fire sh**
I agree with this. I have SOOO many indies on my wishlist right now. Oh wow I hadn't heard of .45 Parabellum Bloodhound (terrible name honestly lol). But it looks like it plays like classics like Parasite Eve and Vagrant Story. Adding that to my wishlist.
Dawg this list is actually insane, so much good variety and stuff I legit haven't heard about until now. It's clear you have an actual passion for indie games considering how much you have here. I'm most excited for Big Catch, Nightmare Operator, and .45 PARABELLUM, but you may have put me on Crowsworn as well since it looks sick, and I adore Hollow Knight's look.
It certainly will be, even more so with lesser-known stuff. I'm writing this before watching the video in full but want to mention a bunch of games that are on my radar. For beyond 2025 too. Most notably for me being My Familiar (i think you'll love this one a lot), future updates/DLC to cyberpunk comic book-like Cookie Cutter (love that one)The Midnight Walk (beautiful horror game made through physical props), IMMORTAL: And the Death that Follows (somewhere between God Hand, a roguelike and an action platformer inspired by Hindu mythology), and Ruffy & the Riverside (3D puzzle platformer with 2D characters). Besides that, there are - The Dungeon Experience - Genokids - Enenra Daemon Core - Jamphibian - Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo - Resistor - Yasuke: A Lost Descendant - Motorslice - The Eternal Life of Goldman - Kraino Rebirth - Bad Boro - Iron Corbo - Promise Mascot Agency - Lost in Random: The Eternal Die - Pillory - Connie and the Essence of Chaos - Pizza Kidd and i think that's all. ALSO, want to recommend some games to you that are already out which you really ought to check out! All of them a kind of 2D action platformer in some ways, all of them a big love child/passion project of their respective devs, and all of them offering a LOT that shouldn't go overlooked. - Cookie Cutter. Already mentioned this one. Beautifully animated, brutal, comic-book like colorful sci-fi/cyberpunk metroidvania. Follows a somewhat chubby, thick-legged android girl trying to save her girlfriend from a totalitarian police madman, set in a merciless and mysterious Megastructure full of weird creatures. Has a lot more planned for the future if support allows for it. New areas, story beats, side quests, weaponss, full voice acting, a battle arena, bosses, enemies, etc. until the full story is told. Dearly love it. - Clash: Artifacts of Chaos. Less brutal but still violent, unique, alien world full of freaks, monsters, mutants and chimeras. Zeno Clash prequel. Fantastic music, atmosphere, art direction, and good gameplay. One could compare it a bit to God Hand too. - Decline's Drops. Described by the lead dev as Yoshi's Island meets Smash in some ways. About a gardener puppet girl off to punch corporate dragons that ruined her garden. Among the other stuff that is planned are new levels, bosses, and new playable characters. There's already a Boss Rush and Time Trial mode out too since late last year. - And finally Magenta Horizon. This one gets brutal in gameplay. .Set in an alien, almost psychedelic take of the Afterlife, not based on any existing mythology. It's a high action game like Ninja Gaiden or The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile and stuff and there is SO. MUCH. ON OFFER. More than 60 different bosses and enemies. And i do mean that. All enemies have at least three different attacks to 'em and so far, in act 3 of 3, i only found one recolor/palette swap. But the playeer isn't lacking for options either. Healing grenades and "spells" that recharge per hit you perform on an enemy, pogo bounces, diagonal dives, hooking behind the enemy, backstep, dash attack with different follow-ups, main combos that can help reposition you or keep you in the air and more. And there's also a Charm system that can have extra effects, like summoning a bone spike from the ground when using a Heavy attack. With more spikes erupting the higher your combo is. Which of these titles have sounded the most interesting for you so far, if it's alright to ask?
Another indie underrated game that I played last year (2024) that came out on 2023 that I never see anyone talking besides a few reviews is Sanabi. Seriously, play it. It's fun and the story's pretty good (insanely good)
@@L_inkle apparently the game's progression system is kinda ass and hella grindy. Also from the two videos i've seen talking abt it, the game is unoptimized and kinda buggy. It's also in early access which kinda explains all the rough patches but still sucks. also u can only get this game in a bundle, you can't download Breaker without getting Drifter (which is $30). idk kinda weird move but get the bag
@@L_inkleThey are low on money so they started patreon to get the funds for their games and people didnt liked that. There is also the fact that they worked with sweet baby inc. and now a bunch of people overreact even if their impact on the game could be minimal. I really liked trailer for Possessors and i hope they wont cancell that game due to the lack of money. Hopefully studio will get back on track.
keep an eye out for the closed betas for Airframe Ultra! I got to be part of one I think last weekend and it was amazinggg! it was so good I ended up making an edit out of it lol
Man I feel like you'd love this game called Sonzai. Think 2D DMC with persona social elements in a hand drawn art style Steam page has been dead for a while, but the demo was so cool, it's my silksong...besides silksong
To keep up the tradition, some game recs cave story, it's spiritual successor the momodora series, these are all fairly short experiences, for some 2d goodness as for 3d crysis 2, the story is not really connected to the first one and has some heft to it, as far as fps goes this is as good as you get save for titanfall or modern doom, in terms of it's action it lands somewhere arround halo but more fast paced plus you get all sorts of special abilities that pushes the gameplay above and beyond the regular run of the mill fps of now and then Maybe next i'll do something other than games
The things I am personally super hyped for with indies in 2025 are Kingdoms of the Dump (know rpgs aren't for everyone, but the style of the game is so charming with so much creativity oozing out of every crevice), Everhood 2 and Isopod (follow up games to my favorite games of 2021 hands down), Ultrakill finally finishing (do I even need to say why? ), and OFF getting re-released (like how can someone not be hyped about one of the kings of indie games coming back?).
Idk if you’ve heard about this game but it had a demo release recently and it’s called mindwave very amazing game beautiful soundtrack amazing visuals interesting story and it’s now in its kickstarter phase SO PLS SHOW SUPPORT FOR THE GAME
First video I've seen from you, thanks for putting the game name in the corner. So many of these roundup videos don't time stamp, don't show the title, don't list the game in the description, and only mention the game name once so I'm scrubbing like a mad man trying to find out wtf they talking about.
15:00 Basically it's the exact same system parasite eve used, also thise octagonal wireframe indicators are just straight up from parasite eve no other game uses such a thing
Hey, just found your channel! I love the vibe and this was a really fun watch. Thanks for introducing me to so many cool games I've never heard of before - Demon Tides looks right up my alley :o Anyways, keep up the good work! 👍👍

Putting silksong in this video is criminal… go to jail right now…
I like to think that each year that passes is another 8 or 10 hours of gameplay.

Yeah I think I mixed it up with Mechabreak in my head as far as release dates, that's my bad. Thanks for clarifying.
@@L_inkle yeah no problem, definitely exited for both games!
when I play skullgirls I feel like i am playing fnaf irl
Valentine on cam 5
Hey, thanks for the "recap" segment, as I hadn't heard of most of those games and now they're on my wishlist as I wait for their release

Ive been playing unsighted on the wait for alabaster dawn but u probably already know that game. You literally shaped my top 10 when it comes to games
Happy to help you get put on to peak🖤
Unless I misunderstood something about the video, Nine Sols released already in 2024
@mynameaintvalstrax7131 That section of the vid was just covering games in general as a little bonus, my bad for the confusion
the goattttt, crazy recs as per usual
Bro remembered his password
my bad gang😭
Banger. Had a bunch of these on my wishlist. Added pretty much everything that wasn't.
I absolutely cannot wait, this year is stacked!!! Big Catch I’m especially excited for!!!!

Im ngl, first video im seeing of you but damn dude this felt fresh and inspiring, keep going!
That intro with the FLCL bits was super cool wtfff
True
Beyond Citadel is already the first banger.
Both Mightreya and V.A Proxy look insane. Mightreya gives me super hero vibes with the flight combat and V.A Proxy needs no explanation.

I consider tacklebox one of my favourite games in 2024 really excited for full game
