Do Step Down Transformers Save Any Current? Part 1

  • In this video where the output device is a 25 watt light bulb I show that it doesn't save any current due to the load device being too small. In Part 2 I will show that current does get saved using a 60 watt device and then a 700 watt device, but the savings is only about 25 or 30% that I estimate, but ideally it should save 50% if thicker wires were used perhaps that will help prevent any copper losses, perhaps not. If the wires are too thin then there may not be enough room or space for the electrons to bounce around and some will escape or penetrate into the insulation or the coating on the magnet wires.
